The globe and clean globe are junk items in Fallout 4.

One can be found on the floor of the Sole Survivor's pre-War home in Sanctuary Hills.
One can be found in Vault 75.
One can be found underwater in a wrecked Horizon Airlines plane southeast of Spectacle Island and near a fishing boat floating on the water.
Several clean variants can be found inside the Institute.
Two in ArcJet Systems.
One in the Prost bar.
One clean variant can be found in the gift shop of Vault 118.

The map's texture is the same as wall maps seen throughout the Commonwealth, such as the one hanging in the Switchboard.
The world map shows several bodies of water, such as the Mediterranean Sea, depicted as the same color as landmasses. It is possible that the map used in-game is a modified version of one from Wikimedia Commons, representing the real world circa 2004 and an error occurred while using the fill tool in a photo-editing program, causing the aforementioned filled-in bodies of water.^{[Non-game 1]}
