A golden gecko hide is a miscellaneous item in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics[]
This item can be turned into a tanned golden gecko hide at a campfire if the Courier has a Survival skill of 65, greatly increasing its value to 250 caps. It requires:
- One golden gecko hide.
- Two turpentine.
- One white horsenettle.
With Honest Hearts, a Repair skill of 35 allows the Courier to fashion leather belts from golden gecko hides at a workbench, with each hide yielding 5 belts.
Location[]
Golden gecko hides are found on dead golden geckos. There is an 80% chance that a golden gecko will drop one on death.

Prior to patch 1.2.0.31x tanning a golden gecko hide also required a packet of RadAway and ten white horsenettle.
