The technology was developed by , based on captured , belonging to the counterinsurgency/terror units. Though the Stealth Boy is more portable and capable of projecting a more powerful stealth field, it has severe drawbacks.

After the Great War, it was used by the elite units of the 's army.

Circa 2281, Doctor acquired schematics for the . Experimental even before the Great War, he has managed to recreate one hoping to provide insight into the Nightkin's problems in .

This is the RobCo "Stealth Boy" Model 3001 Personal Stealth Device. Developed by Robert Mayflower, the Stealth Boy generates a modulating field that transmits the reflected light from one side of an object to the other making the bearer almost invisible to the untrained eye.

[] Side effects

Repeated usage has been found to have unpleasant mental side-effects. It causes the user to suffer paranoia, delusions, hallucinations, and eventual schizophrenia. Obvious signs of stage one, paranoia include; fearing one's loved ones. This occurs after two to three uses. Stage two; delusions. This also, is one of the easiest stages to identify; sudden symptoms of being bi-polar also come into play. This happens after four to six uses. Stage three; schizophrenia. At this point, you would be completely insane, with little chance of ever going back. Stealth Boys has a pronounced increased risk of schizophrenia in . This is especially dramatic in the case of the , who, as permanent Stealth Boy users, nearly always show one or several symptoms.
