Glitch?[]

On my first approach to the shack he was dead and there were a bunch of Cazodors around. I killed them, went on my way to Ranger Station Foxtrot after finding out how to get there, finished ED-E's companion quest, then fast traveled to the bootlegging shack where I found him alive. A bit odd to say the least. Ddd44 03:47, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

He could have recovered from the Cazador poison? UraniYum 15:17, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

When I fast travel to the location I find him alive but surrounded by Cazadors who one shot him.

I DID finally make it to a point where I could save Gourd from the Cazadore attack. The only response I get from him is, "I've got nothing to say to you, you best move on." He doesn't appear to serve any useful purpose.

Sarsaparilla beer?[]

There is a truck nearby the shack with a Sunset crate in the back. Considering the vast number of sarsaparilla bottles in the shack it might be that Gourd uses the drink as an ingredient or drinks it himself to use the empty bottle as a container for beer. Also, like to point out that he may have learned somewhere to drive a car. This is not uncommon in both FO.NV and FO3; though players can not drive vehicles, some vehicles show signs of recent use, as is the case for the truck nearby Gourd's shack. Random Inventory?[]

Just wondering if Gourd has a random inventory, in the picture he's wearing a hat and caravan trader clothing but on mine he's got no hat and wearing Wasteland Wanderer Outfit.

Also Gourd confirmed for one of the most reckless/luckiest NPC's in Mojave? He has the balls to set up a brewery in one of the most dangerous places in the Mojave, he has a 12.7mm Pistol that he doesn't even bring with him, and despite the huge threat of Cazadores, he doesn't even have any Antivenom? What's even funnier is that on my version, his corpse has a Pool Cue on him. Does Gourd fight Cazadores with pool cues? This guy is seriously amazing. --ChipsHandson 21:33, August 10, 2011 (UTC)

If he managed to kill the cazadors with said pool cue, then he would be amazing, but he dies every time. However, he does respawn, so maybe he's got a couple of tricks up his sleeves. --Kastera (talk) 03:03, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

Gourd is dead.[]

Actually he's dead from the beginning, but due to a bug, he's prone to respawn with zero health; hence all these glitches. The same story happens with burned bodies. --Theodorico (talk) 20:59, January 5, 2013 (UTC)

That is interesting. When I read the article and it says he has zero health, implying that he is supposed to be killed before you meet him, I wondered why they didn't just make him dead in the first place. Your explanation makes more sense, and I wonder if the article should be updated to reflect it. --FFIX (talk) 11:42, April 9, 2013 (UTC)
