Why In the christ wouldnt it be avaliable to everyone? They would make more money off DLC[]

Make a house add-on that converts energy cells into alien power cells , or any other energy weapons ammo. Make a weaker version of the alien blaster. Make a rifle version of alien blaster, and make a power fist of some sort. And they should not but the new items in almost every dresser, box, Ect. like in Point Lookout. Every container contained the "new items" --CarthXx 14:53, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I agree it should be avaliable to everyone because game of the year edition costs way to much and cant be bought anymore and no one is going to pay 80$ again for something that should just be downloadable content. Doing what theyre doing is just plain gay and costing them money. Maybe make it free for people who have game of the year edition but atleast avaliable to everyone.

I agree that they should make Mothership Zeta do for energy weapons what The Pitt did for small guns by adding the ammo-press. I don't think it should be a house add-on though, I quite like the thought of having to go back to the ship to use the technology, the same way as I have to travel back and forth from The Pitt should I want to convert ammunition types. It could work somewhere along the lines of a "reverse ammo-press" 10 scrap metal makes 66 5.56mm rounds OR 13 .44magnum rounds so to make 10 Alien Power Cells might require 66 Energy Cells OR 13 Microfusion Cells. Definitely an interesting idea and one that i'd be willing to pay for seeing as I have nearly 40,000 Energy Cell Catterpillars dreaming of emerging from their cocoons as a few thousand beautiful Alien Power Cell Butterflies =] 81.132.196.107 02:52, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

I agree with you i want to use alien technology as well but no it should be more than 13 microfusion cell it should be like 30 microfusion cell to make 11 alien power cells.

Some people should have seen this coming of this DLC why would they put a crashed alien ship in a wasteland completely destroyed from nuclear explosions. It was showing that there was something with aliens was going to happen like with the orignal end if sarah went into the purifier and activated the code and you were stuck. But with Broken Steel it continued it because you saw that coming. What happen to liberty prime, you, the brotherhood of steel, and everyone. You saw that coming.

Just throwing this out there, I really wish they would fix the grab object thing, you know so it would be easier to stack books, or stack food, or make a huge pile of recently baked human flesh... well you know a patch within a dlc yes or no? another thing is, adding another 2 or 3 houses to the game wouldn't be a bad idea, you know make it part of the plot, like you get the quest from some (yeah if you don't like long posts skip this) woman/man who lost their wife/husband/and/or child (one small unimportant thing, they should make more gay couples, just so you know that you could be either acceptive or unacceptive of their relationship to be more realistic) got abducted by the aliens and they found where the aliens mothership landed. then you have to go in and rescue the loved one(s) and the others and blow up the ship, and along the way have the ability to help the family/couple by donating caps and in return they scavenged from the mothership the energy cells to alien cells and they give you their old home in exchange for like 2000 caps so they can build a church to help the people caught up in the ship to readapt to their new lives. Sorry it was long, but hey, I had alot to talk about. Mahkana AKA TJRey

Ok, here goes. How about they make a alien tech transport, that works like horse from Oblivion. It would make wasteland travel easier and who knows? They may add a extra seat for your companion and some storage space for your loot.TheMaintenanceGuy 11:09, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I wish because it takes waaay too long to run/walk everywhere

Heres a thought, who said the aliens were the enemies. they might abduct you and ask you for help in defeating an enemy of their own. If this was the case a good reward would be your own alien space ship (just like the crashed one) that has storage space (or even like a living space) and you can fast travel with (flying around normaly would be fun but lets be realistic) to a few specific locations. --Brandon.367

I have opened up a blog in order to go deeper into this subject here: User blog:Admc93 --Adam 16:34, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Difficulty[]

I hope when they make this DLC they realize how powerful everyone's characters are already and that they make the combat in this DLC truly challenging. Broken Steel gave us some tougher enemies but it also gave us plenty of extra firepower to handle them pretty easily. I hope this DLC will be the most challenging by far. Intelligent life from another planet should have enough technology to pose quite a challenge. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.22.140 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Not sure what you're all about, put it on Very Hard and go fight some Super Mutants without any followers, unless I'm missing some super secret weapon that kills in one hit no matter what I'd say Very Hard can prove to be a bit of a challenge, or at least annoying because of the enemies massive health or whatever increases/decreases to make the enemies such a bitch to kill on Very Hard. --DavidDavidson

  • The death claw gauntlet with all the perks that go with it makes killing a super mutant easy. There are also several weapons from broken steel that will make it a pretty easy kill. The tesla cannon is one. There is also nuka grenades which you can get plenty of now. Also, point blank sneak attacks with the terrible shotgun is a good time too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.78.143.30 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Facing more than one enemy at a time with alien blasters (or perhaps worse!) should be pretty challenging unless they find a way to "nerf" it. I just hope that it finally gives us a way to get an unlimited amount of alien power cells.97.124.56.150 05:10, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

They probably have some new powerful weapons. 1950s style alien guns, lol. One that incinerates you! //--TehK 11:28, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Like the firelance? Dtemps123 20:52, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Oh, crap, I just had a thought. What if they raise the level cap AGAIN, in order to accomodate more powerful weaponry and enemies? Wanderer Lao 20:43, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

No complaints here, it would only give me another reason to play more. Has Bethesda said WHY exactly the level cap wasn't higher than 20 to begin with? Oblivion obviously had a very high level cap (99 or something I think) so I wonder why it wasn't already higher. Oh silly me, of course, raise it in DLC to maximize profits. --DavidDavidson

Actually Oblivion only had a engineering level cap (of 255). It has to do with computing. More specifically it is the maximum value representable by an 8-bit byte. =D --TheREALBloodscar 10:20, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

The level cap of Fallout 3 was limited to 20 not to maximize profits of DLC, but basically to make each player's character unique. A big part of the game is making decisions and reaching a unique outcome. Every quest has multiple rewards and outcomes with lots of things to get, but you can never have everything. The Perks and levels of the game work the same way. You cannot max out all of you skills, you can't eventually get every perk. Its about choice. You have to choose what's best for your character, and inevitably your character will be unique and unlike anyone else's character. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.130.194.203 (talkcontribs). OMG!A higher cap!I just peed my pants!Maybe it'll go to fifty!Mwhahaha! 68.32.99.81 17:24, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

They have stated they are not raising the level cap. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.22.140 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

There is one thing that worries me about difficulty. if they are really hard, what if some poor noob gets abducted by the alien space ship as soon as he exits vault 101 and then can't beat the aliens and it ruins the game for them? because u can complete it before main quest but what if it randomly abducts u as soon as u exit vault 101? Silent.Killa78 >:) 02:25, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

One would hope the difficulty of the enemies would depend on the level of the hero like other creatures of the wastes. (eg, you only come across super mutant masters after reaching a certain level, so you dont get totally wasted).

If they increase the level cap, they'll need to increase the skill caps or something similiar. Without Broken Steel, you could still get up to 100 in every skills. They'll need to increase that and make some good perks for once!!!!

  • Please read what is already written before you post. The new DLCs will not change the level cap.
  • I'm talking when they next do a level cap (if it appears)
  • I would like to point out that the entire essay that follows was written by me, Jon.

All you people raving about a level cap raise need to step back and think a second. How would this work? A DLC that raised the level cap to 35 or 40 would render 'Broken Steel' pretty much useless, as most people get it for the increased level cap. People have paid for that, and Bethesda wouldn't just void it by bringing out another DLC with a higher level cap.

So what? Just make it 40 for people with Broken Steel, 30 for people who don't have it? I'm no programmer, but as I understand this would be exceedingly difficult as (on consoles, at least) the Broken Steel data is on the HDD, while the actual game data is on the disc, so this hypothetical new DLC; "ZOMGNEWLVLCAP" would need to find some sort of evidence that the player has downloaded the DLC, and if they have, simply install a seperate script raising the cap to 40, but if they haven't, the DLC would need to rewrite the data on the disc, which would mean creating two copies of one DLC.

This won't happen until Broken Steel has made Bethesda plenty of money, and raising the cap becomes worthwhile, and the upcoming PS3 release means development of "ZOMGNEWLVLCAP" wont start until 2010, at the earliest.

Quite Simply, It ain't happenin' (Jon)

Well, I actually got Broken Steel, less for the level cap increase, and more so because it extended the main story, and added lots of new sweet things, such as the wonderful Enclave Hellfire Armor. (Tombstone) --142.167.132.107 16:46, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Why would they change the difficulty when you can do it yourself just go to the options and make it harder but if they make the enemies stronger normal will be hard but very hard will be instant kill --Nico

they will not raise level cap and not for the reasons you people are thinking of they wont it would be useless and for the person who had broght up oblivions leveling it had a different style of leveling not raising skills you did that on your own to level but fallout raises skills every time you level and has fixed stats but out of three games made by them I personally liked morrowind's leveling which for those who dont know elder scrolls 3

  • First, I would like to say Fail. Then I would like to say EPIC FAIL!!!! Then I would like to stop being an asshole. Now I'm going to tell you that Bethesda had made MANY more than 3 games. Then I'm going to laugh at you becuase TES3 and TES4 had the exact same leveling system, just different skill divisions. Then I'm going to laugh at you for comparing games from different storylines, backgrounds, and playstyles. Then I'm going to hope people (including you) can decipher the valuable information from this post. Then I'm going to sincerely apologize for my rudeness and be on my way. ?? :S ?? --TheREALBloodscar 10:33, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

If you guys are expecting a level cap... then that would be tight but I wish we dont get to increase our skill points since that would make our players pretty much invincible.... What I want is MORE perks!!!

ULTIMATE TOOL TO MAKING VERY HARD VERY EASY IS.... 500+ Stimpacks hotkeyed. No, seriously, it will save you from almost any situation (except falling and accidental Fat Man/MIRV launches). --TheREALBloodscar 09:59, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

New Follower[]

I'm thinking this DLC might include an additional follower you can get that is an alien. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.78.143.30 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

ooo, maybe a big buff alien built like a supermutant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.152.161.133 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Maybe the aliens will have telekinesis or something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.22.140 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Maybe, just maybe, there will be an alien follower, but who knows? His name may be Steve, he may be 4ft3in and have no hair except a large ginger moustache, it's open for speculation. Personally I would like to see a humanoid follower with resilience close to that of Fawkes, so we can equip them with T-51b and be happy. One with a nice high energy weapons skill so we can give them the Alien Blaster. 86.2.252.181 21:25, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Jon

If their will be a follower i bet it will be a human that was abducted from earth during the real 1950's and was in stasis or something the whole time.

Maybe the follower should be basically some retarted kid who never shuts the fuck up and screams and screeches out of no where and starts slapping a desk and has greasy corn on the cob and mashed potatoes for hair. And he has a signature move where for god knows what reason he will jsut shriek out "ambulance" in like an Orc voice and will reject the fact that he was really hyper, and his head will be about twice the size of his body.

@-86.2.252.181 -- There's already such a follower in the game. Her name is Cross. And I agree with the guy above me. I doubt there would be a true alien follower because it would be too weird for other Wasteland inhabits not to react when they see a little green man following the Lone Wanderer around. Fawkes is one thing because Super Mutants are everywhere already. People are used to them. But aliens? Nah. ~ The Unsigned One, 27 June 2009

Mabye the alien has a device to make him look human.

Lol. That would be fun. And you get to choose what he/she looks like :D //--TehK 20:17, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Maybe it's someone captive on the ship like you and they feel grateful towards you and they become a new follo

Just spit balling here but, what it theirs a guy from like the midevial ages or the real 1950s that the aliens froze?

There should be an alien follower who has dual alien blasters and talks like dirty harry. also he needs to be a smoker.

heck it could be dirty harry --5:33pm 02:02, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Elvis and Jim Morrison will be available as followers. (Cloned Wanderer)

Wanamingos[]

Anyone else get the feeling Wanamingos will be featured in this DLC although they are not really aliens? There's FO3 concept art for them after all... -- Porter21 (talk) 21:07, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I felt that they would make an appearence in New Vegas, but his seems much more likely... Intelligent ones perhaps? Fat Man Spoon 21:09, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
I'd be happy to see some Wanamingos as long as they aren't slapping me all over the map. Maybe we'll get not one but two races of aliens in the new expansion... and a new, viable source of alien power cells. Mr. Sully 21:17, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
The thing with Wanamingos is they were created by the military as a weapon. Still, we don't know what they were "created" from in the first place. So its entirely possible they are in fact aliens and we'll see them in the DLC.
Werent they created from FEV?
They weren't created "from" FEV. They were created using FEV as a catalyst for mutation. In other words, we have no idea where the original DNA that went into Wanamingos came from. The original Wanamingo could have been a dog, cat, watermelon, space alien, or even a combination of all four.

the original DNA was taken from Flamingos!!

We might finally find out if there is intellegant life out there --5:33pm 02:07, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

No, but there might be intelligent life

Kewl[]

I think it's awesome. But since this is an interactive game you'll probably have to talk to the aliens. Like you're in a test tube and the aliens put on a translator so you can understand them. Or maybe they just don't speak at all. I hope you'll be able to loot their bodies and wear their armor. I hope there won't be something gay like followers won't be able to come on board AND will be sent back to their original spots. Because in Broken Steel I finished the Aqua Cura quest and I can't enter the Museum of History without my Xbox crashing. *sob* I don't want to loose Fawkes...WAH! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alieneater1239 (talkcontribs). Only Available on GotY Edition?[]

Really? Only available on Game of the Year Edition? Christ, that sucks... If it's true. Can we get a citation for that? Or is it just someone dicking around? 65.186.83.127 01:42, 20 May 2009 (UTC) No it is going to be available on Xbox Live and GFWL just like every other DLC. Also apparently some sort of retail card.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.22.140 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

The only disc edition it will be a part of will be the GotY one (as in, it won't be in any of the 2 Add-on Packs), but it will be also available as DLC. Ausir 04:15, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Great, and I hoped I'd get around that freaking expensive Wireless Adapter for Xbox. 90.186.185.133 20:21, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Actually, my Xbox gets connection with a 50' ethernet cable, and it's only half the price.--Master1337cheeZ 02:14, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

I only buy the retail disc versions and I'm certainly not willing to shell out the money for the game of the year edition when I already own everything else. I'm not really sure how this retail card thing works. Do you need to have a games for windows live account to use that? I am not and will not use GFWL so if it does not come out on disc it may prevent me from playing it. I guess if all else fails there is always piracy.

Let's talk WEAPONS![]

Since this is a discussion page and all, I thought I'd get the ball rolling on some wild speculation. You guys seem pretty creative, so what do you think? What kind of new alien weapons can we expect to see? The only two alien weapons in the Fallout universe so far are the Alien blaster and the Firelance... personally, I have a hunch that the Cryolator will make an appearance, as it was mysteriously cut from the final version of the game. A "freeze ray" would fit in perfectly, wouldn't it? And of course, we have to have some kind of long-arm version of the Blaster, because what 50s-style alien encounter could possibly be complete without a Death Ray? Another idea which pops to mind would be some kind of mind-control device (more effective than the Mesmetron but perhaps similar). Perhaps the player could get him/herself "mezzed" by the aliens - whoops! But since it's typical for Bethesda to give us a few new guns with each expansion, what else do you think we might be able to look forward to? Oh, and one more thing before I open the floor to discussion: there shall be absolutely no mention of a melee weapon called a Probe, you hear me?? :P 12.204.48.130 07:10, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

What You people think about something like Plasma Rifle from Fallout 2, but in Alien way :D, or Alien Tesla cannon (sounds like something that goes boom better than Nuke)

YAYZ PROBEZ I hope you shove them in, they ignite, then after 10 seconds BOOM :D.

Probably going to be 3 new alien weapons, one "nerfed" alien blaster, a different alien rifle with it's pistol counter-part (Though the rifle is probably going to be better like always). Then it's probably just going to be a unique version of a vanilla Small Gun and Melee Weapon(Due to the content of the earlier DLC's I don't think we should expect more than this, it's probably going to be less than that even..). But what I hope they bring in in the two new DLC's are the H&K G11, M72 Gauss Rifle and H&K CAWS from fallout 2(Every place in The Wasteland look like shit, even the weapons, we need some high-tec). A new minigun which uses an upgraded model like the Tri-Beam did with Laser Rifle, Plasma Fist or Upgraded Power Fist(How do unarmed PC's kill reavers!?!?!), Fireaxe for melee(Everybody in the wasteland use random melee stuff and noone decided to use and axe? Is fallout an axeless universe?) and cluster grenade, impact mine or molotov cocktail for explosives. Oh and Naccy Man with a "Special Disk M60" (No really, it would be an awesome easter egg like thing). Sorry for not signing, 81.234.140.17 23:35, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

My guess would have to be that they include an alien machine gun and some of the crap from Destroy All Humans! since that was reminiscent to '50s styled aliens. Plus, that ass-probe thing probably will happen at some point.Dunno.But I'm gonna HAVE to get Broken Steel first because my best characters (Jack, who is good,Hawk, who is evil, and Wolfer, who is neutral) are all in the purifier room! HuangLee 17:16, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

How about SHOOP DA WHOOP LAZARZ PipBoy101 17:17, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Alien melee weapons. Like some kind of electro-pike or something like that. And an Alien Assault Rifle would be a pretty nice addition. Or an Alien Sniper Rifle. I'd also welcome the return of the M72 Gauss Rifle and the Vindicator Minigun. //--Run4urLife! 19:52, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Like this: [1]! And maybe even some new laser rifle like: [2]! //--TehK 20:58, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
That first one looks great. How was that done? Fat Man Spoon 21:00, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Wild assumption that the creator dragged the barrel out a little to it's length and that the blue ammo like clip in front of the handle is an alien power cell remodeled in rectangular shape then given more width and attached to the modified model, am I right or totally off? 81.234.140.17 23:47, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Ha, yes. Now I feel like an idiot for not seeing that. Fat Man Spoon 00:13, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Nope I was way off see the alien power cell page. But I think that it's just a rectangular model with a play on previous textures though, the 6 stripes seems like the one's on the rear of the gun. 81.234.140.17 01:44, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Actually, you can't see it in the screenie, but it still reloads the same way on the left with the circular cell. The new clip is something else.. //--TehK 01:48, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

I wonder what this DLC's Power Armor will be like, though. There has to be one, seeing that each of the previous DLCs had at least one new model; just think what Point Lookout could have, too. Here, it could be alien-built armor that was designed for human anatomy using scans of the Lone Wanderer, all as an experiment beyond human understanding (otherwise it would be stupid to make something that doesn't work for you but works for your enemy). It could also be armor that was scavenged before or shortly after the War, like a predecessor to the T-45d but with alien modifications so it's worth using, or an advanced prototype (T-52a, perhaps?) recovered from some secret military lab after the nukes fell. 74.215.114.200 00:26, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

I was thinking something along the lines of an alien blaster but extended 2 the length of an assault rifle with a but with a butt stock and maybe an Alien Gattling laser? Silent.Killa78 >:) 02:26, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

a paralyzing stick, can't get it out of my head 62.163.88.139 11:19, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah I was also thinking of a weapon that paralyzes the enemy. Its a central theme in alien abduction stories. And some sort of crazy death ray too of course. Its also possible we may see some more stuff like Lincoln's repeater if the aliens had been studying humanity for a while...

I got to be honest i dont think bethesda gonna sent out m72 gauss rifle since theres already a gauss rifle in operation anchorage they should sent out more gauss weapons though and about mothership zeta what the hell does brahmin got to do with this dlc?

You don't know what brahmin have to do with alien encounters? I take it you've never heard of cattle mutilation. Ask any UFO buff, or read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattle_mutilation It's a pretty significant part of UFO "lore" (and awfully difficult to account for otherwise.... cue mysterious music!)12.204.48.130 06:39, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

oh thanks i only want alien technology never knew cows got something to do with aliens lol!

HAS ANYONE EVEN CONSIDERED THIS???!!! Where would all the ammo come from, and if it's that rare, who would use such a weapon that depletes 500 rounds in seconds?--Master1337cheeZ 02:19, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Dude. TIN FOIL HATS. Nuff said. ~ The Unsigned One, 6 June 2009

A weapon called the Defibrillator. It would be some type of energy weapon that sends an overpowered shock to the heart. A few seconds later the enemies heart explodes.

Heart exploding, that's up there in terms of sheer brutality, but I still say nothing can hold a candle to the brutality of the Cerebral Bore from the Turok series. It's a heat seaking brain scooping nightmare of a weapon. 67.211.81.140 05:52, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

Here's an idea... An alien grenade. It's more powerful than the nuka grenade. Vault 77 Dweller 22:02, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey, there's a good idea! Makes me think of a "singularity grenade" generating a micro black hole or something. (What was that horrible movie with Charlie Sheen? The Arrival? I think they had a black hole type grenade in that...) That could be really cool with the physics in Fallout 3. Just make sure you grab that skill book off the table before you chuck that singularity grenade, or you'll NEVER find it, lol.... 12.204.48.130 07:38, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

you would think that they would add a new grenade in a dlc, right? I mean there are only 4 existing. COME ON! Vault 77 Dweller 21:02, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Operation: Anchorage was supposed to have Smoke grenades in it, but got cut. There also seems to be a cut Mirelurk bait grenade that wasn't used. Fat Man Spoon 21:04, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Though they aren't necessarily "alien weapons", I'd like to see the pulse pistol / rifle from fallout 2 make an appearance.

I'd like to see another singlehanded, fully auto weapon (akin to the smg), say, like a 5mm PDW, which does less base damage than the smg, but ignores DR. I dunno. 70.179.110.237 18:38, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

What about armour, like a little alien spacesuit you can wear?!? the black hole grenade is a sweet idea, but i am hoping for a gun that glows orange, just hear me out, and you can pick stuff up with it, like right off the ground and shoot it like the rock-it launcher. and then they can call it something sweet, like a zero-point energy manipulator! radioactive HALF LIFE anyone? -- J.J.-Lopez

I just hope they don't have a melee weapon like a laser sword.

PLEASE MAKE MORE ALIEN POWER CELLS!!! Maybe there could be an alien vendor you could buy them off of. I need them. I am running low.

I'll bet that they will have LOTS of the weapons that were in the previous Fallout games... At least I hope. Make it sort of like they've been studying us for a while and have kept some of the gems for themselves. I also want to see SOME type of armor, possibly a full body suit that has blue-glowing parts on it (the same color as the Alien Blaster). It would give you +10 Energy Weapons, and -10 sneak or something. Point Lookout was REALLY lacking in terms of Armors, so I'm way more excited about the alien armors than the alien weapons. SplittingTheAtom 21:29, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I agree. I have a feeling we'll see new human weapons because the aliens have been studying us. But I kind of doubt that they will put in alien power armor for the player to wear. It just seems like too much of a stretch. The alien anatomy is just too different from ours. But here's what I DO think we have a good chance of seeing...
1) More international weapons. Abductees were probably taken from all over the planet, anyway. Perhaps an Israeli Desert Eagle? Or a French assault rifle like the FAMAS (google it.) Maybe even a Soviet-style RPG launcher.
2) Astronaut suit. Makes sense... they abducted an astronaut. Maybe astronaut armor? There may be a part where the Lone Wander has to wander outside the ship, after all.
3) Shrink ray! Makes enemies tiny, then you step on them. (ok, long shot there, haha)
4) Death Ray. Basically alien version of Fatman. Uses a laser to make huge explosion. Balanced by using ridiculous amounts of alien power cells as ammo.
5) Mind control. Or a paralyzing weapon of some sort. It's pretty standard alien abduction lore.
6) Tin foil hats. To counter mind control/paralysis. Seriously. ~ The Unsigned One, 27 June 2009

I don't know about you guys, but I just had an (at least I think so) awesome idea! It's a rifle based weapon (maybe even custom built!) that can be used to temporarily (15-45 seconds or until death) control any humanoid npc! You would aim it, and fire a dart into their head, and your screen would switch over to their view. So, you might find an Overlord, and shoot your little mind control dart into his skull. You control him as he mows down his former companions with a gattling laser, and when he finally is taken down you come in and mop up the rest. I think this would be a super cool idea, and would be pretty awesome alternative to straight up rushing in.--98.156.98.132 04:48, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

It sounds like a great idea, but it probably won't happen. It would be cool though. Part of the gun's mesh could be wires that attach to your head, and it could have like a limited range. SplittingTheAtom 14:08, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Does anyone here remember the first few seasons of family guy? Remember where Stewies mind control device, the one that looks like an alien blaster extended. Yeah it'd be awesome if there was an energy rifle that looked like it or maybe an easter egg alien mesmetron? -TJRey

Tesla Particle rifle! Tesla Kantana! (I love kantanas!) And many more tesla weapons! (I should have put alien frigate cannon in this entry, but oh well) TheMaintenanceGuy 11:30, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I think we should be seeing weapons that are reminiscent of some weapons from WWII, F1, F2, etc., but improved with alien technology. That said, here are my ideas.

1. Some kind of alien mesmetron that makes the target go insane (they could frenzy, run away, kill themselves, etc.)
2. An automatic energy shotgun, kind of like the HK caws, but it envelopes each bullet with electricity or something.
3. Some improvised weaponry made from the alien robots. maybe an arm-mounted gatling laser?
4. A close range energy weapon, like a taser on steroids.
5. A P94 Plasma Rifle that runs on Alien Power Cells, shoots blue plasma, and has ridiculous damage and crit chance.
6. Something like the Gravity Hammer from Halo 3, that makes a shockwave on impact with an enemy.
7. Electromagnetic claws.
8. A scoped, silent, automatic laser pistol.
9. A mine with knockdown and instant full-body cripple effects.
10. Gauss Katana. It's a sword that does huge damage and knocks down enemies on cirts, but needs to "reload" every few swings.

Please never, EVER suggest a Gauss melee weapon, Gauss technology involves using electromagnets to propel bullets through the "barrel" of the weapon, and the basic idea of what your proposing with the katana seems like a reskinned jingwei's shocksword with different effects. there is possibility for a regular katana however, with the samurai suit. Jose Payne 20:57, 15 July 2009 (UTC)Jose Payne

-That idea about the limited-time NPC control reminds me of the psychosis gun from Perfect Dark, it did damage but also drugged the enemy into going around killing off his enemies (if he didn't die from the shot), they managed to balance it out by only allowing a maximum of 4 rounds to be shot in any level, and in later levels, when you turned an enemy into an ally, the other enemies would shoot him on sight. I think that would be something interesting to incorporate into fallout (it would also be MUCH easier to justify in an alien scenario, or another setting that allows for advanced technology) where the ammo would recharge veeeeery slowly instead of having a finite amount. It would certainly balance the usage so that you wouldn't be able to shoot 50 enemies and carry an army with you, and it would still allow for some great entertainment. -99.241.133.93 23:46, 11 July 2009 (UTC) (July 11, 09)

A friend told me that theres gonna be a new weapon called the mesculator which is gonna be an alien minigun and you have to choose to choice side with aliens or the abductees call me a liar but my friends dad is a friend of the producer of mothership - Elvoblue

DLC availability[]

Did it say that u could only buy it if u have the fallout 3 game of the year edition

All Downloadable Content (emphasis on downloadable) will be made available as downloads first. The GOTY edition will ship about a month after the last DLC is released, and it will include all five of the DLC's on discs. You can either pay for each DLC pack as it is released, or wait for GOTY and get them all practically free of charge and on disc. 74.215.114.200 22:13, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
It's a load of bull in my opinion, that I'll end up shelling out about $100 total for this game, and all of a sudden someone else gets the DLC I spent my money on for free. Microsoft should give us some refunds, man. Wanderer Lao 10:24, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Why should they? You bought the DLC, even though you knew full well that a GotY edition will appear. If you can't think before you buy, you should reconsider being a part of a capitalist society. That Furry Bastard 11:09, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm glad they have a GOTY edition, that way I can get it for my PC without spending another 100 bucks.Cavesloth 13:40, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Cavesloth

Everyone knows there is a premium to the price of video games if you buy it when it first comes out. What would suck though is if I hate GFWL so I buy the game and then I buy operation anchorage + the pitt on disc and then I buy broken steel + point lookout on disc and then I'm left with no option to get mothership zeta through retail except for the GOTY edition which means other than mothership zeta I will have purchased everything else twice just because of stupid GFWL.

Nope, it just so happens to cone with GOTY edition Ummkay...LOL

All games with expansions do this, you should have seen it coming. What would have really have been stupid is if they forced PC users to get the dlc through that crappy GFWL and made PS3 users wait an extra six months... ow wait....

I hope that they put in some more alien blasters. I'm like ocd with my guns and srmor always having to be 100% also if you bought broken steel you would've gotten like another 100 cells

I am going to be so pissed if theres just reskinned weapons.

Question....[]

  • 1. Why would they take us?
  • 2. Does it just suck you in right when you download it?
  • 3. Can you get an alien follower?
  • 4. Will there be a whole lot of bramin in there?
  • 5. Do they speak English?
  • 6. Will there be any alien weapons which you can have?

AND THE ONE AND ONLY BEST QUESTION..... HOW MANY FINGERS DO THEY HAVE? --Kirby888 03:36, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Cleaned up your post a little, 1. There might be more to the story than what we know about the Theta Recon Craft. 2. We don't know. 3. Hopefully, we don't know though. 4. It would fit into the cattle mutilation myth's but we don't know. 5. Maybe they have a voice-changer/bender. 6. Probably otherwise it would be stupid to go onto an alien spaceship. 7. As many as the dead alien at Recon Craft Theta which I believe is three. 81.234.140.17 05:21, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

DUH! 1. cause we stole their blasteres...and draged a dead alien all the way to rivet city 2. it's probably gonna be like " An alien ship has appeared!" Then you'll get a radio signal. 3.probably not 4. maby the signal will be a random waster saying. " Someone is stealing my bramin, please help!" 5. yea,and german, japaneese, russain, spanish, protugeese, and every other language. 6.Duh 7. 3,exatly,3 - Joe Han Son

Well 1.Maybe because they thought your the responsible for the aliens death and crash 2.I dont know maybe another distress signal 3.Hell yeah but 80% no we dont even know yet if theyre bad or good 4.I dont know 5.Yes maybe all languages or maybe they speak in alien and they put some alien technology on you so that you can understand what they say. 6.Well duh they wont go to a planet that they dont own unarmed.. and probs they will have 3 fingers since the alien in the crash site have three

Answers:

  • 1. Scientific study, they need information, they need our help, or they are just hungry and need food.
  • 2. It probably sucks you up after 1-3 days after either you download it or after the random encounter with the alien ship crashing, whichever is later.
  • 3. I really hope so.
  • 4. Yes.
  • 5. No they will communicate with you telepathically but the brahmin in there will speak English.
  • 6. The alien blaster and the firelance. Also you can fire the ship weapons but only as part of a quest.
  • 7. Three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out!n (That leaves six unanwsered, muhahahaha!)
  • I think it'll be triggered by the player from the Alien Crash Site, possibly by activating a beacon or something in the cockpit? So you can choose when to start. Then the mothership comes and are like, you're not an alien and abduct you to find out what happened.
LOL you just reminded me of the semi-obtainable Holy Hand Grenade you could get in Fallout 2. That thing OWNED, but you could only get one. Of course, I used FALCHE2 to give myself a few hundred more. Wheee, good times! Now that I come to think of it, that's one thing that's woefully lacking in Fallout 3.... Monty Python references. At least give us an encounter with some crazy guy in black power armor who bellows, "NONE SHALL PASS!" Er... okay... I guess I went off-topic there, sorry... 12.204.48.130 06:29, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Alien Gear anyone?[]

Aside from Alien Weapons (I'd like to see some crazy Rifle), I have a suspicion that they're going to use Alien Tech and as a method of repairing your gear. Limited, unique weapons and armor that can't be repaired have always bothered players, so there may be some reconstructor machine here. And really, Alien Armor would be amazing.--Clean Up 15:08, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Depends on how the armor looks like, I'd rather have a 100% repair man in Point Lookout instead. I'd like to have a alien power cell maker like the ammo press in the pitt. say, 100EC for 1 APC, 50 MFC for 1 APC. Meaning if i have 2000 MFC I can transform it to 40 APC which frankly isn't alot but seeing as how powerfull Alien Blaster is it would be worth it. I'm 81.234.140.17, Adjust. 16:32, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

It would be cool to add like an alien power suit or another alien weapon. or both. PACMAN Waka Waka 16:46, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

There probably isn't going to be any over-powered stuff. And if there is, it'll likely have extremely limited ammunition (I'm hoping it's not the latter). --Clean Up 17:02, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Those aliens look like pretty skinny dudes. Not sure my character could fit into any alien clothing. Also I'd have to cut a couple extra finger holes in the gloves.

Maybe (and I believe it may have been said before) there will be an Alien Power Armour of some kind? Something really unique, not just a reskin, and totally kick ass (ala Ashur's Power Armour), but not completely worthless (a la Gary 23) or stat decreased (Tribal Power Armour DR). Oh, idea, Enhanced Tesla Armour, or Modified T-51b! Perhaps even a Radiation Suit that can seriously protect against radiation, or an aluminum helmet to protect you from their mind-reading powers! Oh, I could do this all day! Ergo, I will do something else. Wanderer Lao 05:04, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

yeah, they could also be an Easter egg from Mars attacks! where they box near the end. also i think we should get some automatic firing tesla gun! and a long stick melee weapon called the probtromitor, when you hit people with it, if you crit they experience severe rectal trauma, and then die! ftw! --92.234.175.62 05:53, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

They should make the power armor look like those smash aliens, and it dispenses instamash instead of med-x like the medic armor--92.234.175.62 20:44, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

There are a few definites ( in referance to what will appear) in this DLC Alien Armor: An absoulute necessity if the Aliens have not for some unexplainable reason down graded their tech, this armor will be required to withstand being hit by the alien blaster more than once because idk if anybody ever had the firelance picked up by a hostile NPC but its lethal in 2-3 shots on higher difficulties. Alien Weapons: All the DLCs have introduced new weapons why should this one be any different, mabye an alien assult rifle or an electro pike? APC: If new weapons are introduced these will be necessary. Hazards/Traps: Because honestly who would play something with no conflict, and seeing as the ACS was radioactive a way to deal with radiation while on zeta will be neccesary. And last but not least Enemys: This will be a major sticking point of the DLC, they have to be tough but not ungodly so, will they be searchable, what weapons will they have, humanoid, will they wear armor?

I think that as far as weapons go e can expect the alien blaster and firelance to be at the lo end of the spectrum, because the Ship at the ACS was called RECON craft theta, and usually recon units are lightly armed and made for speed so im intrested to see hat the alien big guns will be like

alien big gun? like a minigun that fires little mini blaster shots. similar in damage to vengance but more accurate. :)

I think the Precision Gatling Laser they gave us in Broken Steel is the very definition of that.

What about a shield generator that is repaired using microfusion cells to power it? Now that sounds like some alien armor.--LordVukodlak 16:46, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

I personally think that after an attempted escape from the aliens, they will over you some sort of peace agreement and could possibly become a friendly faction that you can trade with and get new side quest from.

Just speculation, but I would imagine the quest starting with a mysterious radio broadcast, just as several of the other preceding DLCs have.

Level Caps[]

Does anyone think they'll change? Maybe 35? I hope they do since there were much better perk options available (like weapon degradation) but im not keeping my hopes up.90.198.53.129 08:36, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

  • This we do know. The level cap will be 30 with broken steel and 20 otherwise. They said this in an interview. The new DLC will not change it so please stop posting about the level cap people.
Well I would like a Dlc which can only be downloaded if you have the Broken Steel file, which give's you Several boxes in the OPTIONS bar that has like 30 level cap, 40 level cap, 50 level cap up to 100, so that we who want no cap at all can keep power-leveling, and it's optionable to have no level cap or 100 yknow or to still have it at 30, so all of those "30 is too much" people don't "have" to raise it like broken steel forced them to. Oh and we who keep leveling won't get any new perks, we can just make us ace of spades once we have all perks. Maybe a perk at 100 that give's unlimited AP points. And here is the thing "noone can whine about it..." those who want this DLC who have broken steel, can download it. Those who don't, won't. That easy, it brings no new weapons, enemies, places, stuff... Only for us 360 and ps3 players to be able to powerlevel. I'm 81.234.140.17, Adjust. 22:54, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

thats a weird statement, pc gamers already can get rid of the level cap 62.163.88.139 14:23, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

For people with extended patience and/or the ability to read proper English, There's an essay further up (by me :P) explaining WHY Bethesda will not raise the level cap. --86.2.252.181 21:30, 10 June 2009 (UTC) Jon

if, they raised the level cap then it will be easy to obtain a perfect character in everything. But with choices it makes you choose wisely to fit your character with your personality. For instance if you are like a science person with energy weapons why would like stealth and big guns be in the a diffrent category. If they made this game to be DIFERENT everytime for everyone why would they make it available to obtain everything. Nico

WOW WHAT A ADVENTURE 5 MORE LEVELS. Not really. I doubt there will be a level cap but if there was it go to 40. --Kirby888 03:39, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Actually, I could possibly see a level cap upgrade. Even though I know they said it would stay at 30 they might take back that statement. Remember when they said there would be 3 DLCs? and then they announce 2 more? Silent.Killa78 >:) 07:46, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

No seriously, there is no level cap increase. This does not need to be discussed. No level cap increase I promise.

Alien Food?[]

I want spacefood in tubes, I want an astronaut suit, I want to skin out one of the aliens, taxidermy yknow, and dress up in his skin like that crazy guy did at the end of Bad Taste(splatter-film), I would like to see some alien food but bethesda will probably not put priority on something like that. There is a different team working on the DLC's. I'm sure they can spare a few of them to work on DLC's, think of it, they make 60$ for TESV when it comes out right? Ok, They've made 110$ from F3, make two more dlc's and an expansion during the meantime until they've released TESV and started their expansions and it'll be like 160$ For one of the games. They gain money off of it and we gain entertainment. Win win situation. By the way, this is the only game I've spent 400+ hours on, other games are good and fun sure but this is the only game I'm willing to pay over 200$ for (if they were to make that many DLC's and expansions). LOL!!! Me too I think TES:Oblivion and Fallout 3 are the games Ive spent the most time playing.

I personally think it will be the last DLC, however it would be my hope to have one final DLC centered around the Commonwealth. There's always the chance they 'might' make some more in a surprising announcement, much like Point Lookout and Mother ship zeta.

I'm less interested in the Commonwealth (seems like the sort of thing they could use as a setting in an entire new game to the north, too big from Fallout 3's various references to properly include in a single DLC area) than I am about the Super Mutants in the Capital Wasteland. I'm really hoping for just one more DLC that will involve a final solution to the Super Mutants (plot-wise, taking place after Broken Steel), and that such a DLC would also include a final ending to the game, since Broken Steel extended the game past its original ending. The RPGenius 00:39, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

You know what RPGeiuns, your right. i think it would be an entire new game if they tried that. which is why there is a new fallout comming out, with more dlcs to waste our money on, one of which will probably be centered in the Commonwelth anyways. Please Crash The Ship At The End[]

I really hope they crash the spaceship at the end, somewhere that you can still get inside the ship... maybe right at the edge of the map so that you can still access it but it doesn't take up any of the space in the Capital Wasteland. The last thing I want is to finish the DLC and then find out that I have to do it again because I missed a Kick-Ass weapon in the ship. SplittingTheAtom 21:35, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah.make it so theres a large armoury part of the ship available so no-one gets pissed that they missed a disintegrator...also....can it be like broken steel where you can crash the ship or not. Butter 17:55, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

It would be interesting if you could give the alien armor to Dogmeat. It could probably fit him, plus it means that you wouldn`t have to buy it as a seperate dlc(if they make one).

Saying that, you put the idea into my head that maybe Dogmeat, is in fact, a alien exile that wants revenge!TheMaintenanceGuy 11:12, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

this is a good idea, i would have no problems sitin in my 1 ton new house sipin a nuka cola :P

Hopes[]

WELL, i think we can all agree we need a new follower, second, i hope they have a space suit like captain cosmos in the billboards around the wasteland, thirdly i hope you can keep going back to get more ammo, fourth, maybe a new house.......,

And Finally..................if the last quest is that aliens send an army to the capital wasteland, well...........*Reloads double barrel shotgun*.......their DEAD!

hahahaha this message made my day :P

i dont think we would be able to fit in a space suit cuz its too dang small.

Where did the disindigrator come from? I HOPE that it will become a weapon! Volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 23:34, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Omg! What if there is a boss called the Alien Fleet Commander who has an afro! And if you kill him, you can loot his body for an afro wig!TheMaintenanceGuy 11:13, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

having the alians envade the wasets could add a whole new lvl to gameplay 5:33pm 03:52, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

DUDE! there has to be a fricken huge battle between like the Aliens and (depending on karma) a bunch of NPC!! that would be amazing!- Bruteslayer412

That sounds great! Maybe you will have to go around the wasteland recruiting people! TheMaintenanceGuy 11:22, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

And afterward Grouse has you enslave the last aliens.Wavesteel 00:55, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes. Yes he does. Spoon 00:57, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Factions?[]

It could be possible that thir are 2 factions in this DLC like the others....???? Probaly, if their is it will either be 2 Alien races, or Aliens and human that were abducted. Jeff Gardener said their were others so....

might be like alien vs predator?

Or maybe it will be aliens vs alien rebels?TheMaintenanceGuy 11:13, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Personally, im hoping there will be more alien types than just the traditional "gray" that we all know will make the primary adversary. It would really bolster the experience for me, if while you're there, you see many other captive alien species. With each dlc they've gone for a 'new vibe'. If they truly want the 'interstellar experience" vibe going, they'll include more than just the predictable, and generic "grays". Im hoping anyway. -InternetDouche.

Texture/Inside ship[]

What really intrests me is WTF is it going to be like, probaly like 100 percent more advanced looking than raven rock eh?

well they said there would be no re-used textures, so it will be nothing like what youve seen in places like raven rock,or like point lookout's underground lab. so yea, expext some flashing lights, silver walls, and some unpressable buttons lol- mat mod

Thank God Summer[]

Thank god its coming out on July maybe summer so that i have no courseworks and homeworks to do all ill do is go on fallout wikia and help people and join the excitement if its coming out :P more alien power cells pl0x!

Same, i've just finished year 10 and i'm looking forward to playing Mothership Zeta and Point Lookout to get some new gameplay --KieranBOS 20:33, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Perks[]

Let's hope that there will be more perks like the other Add-Ons. One in particular that I am hoping for is a perk that raises the damage of electric based weapons like the Shocker, Tesla Cannon, Shocksword, Alien Blaster, etc.

Yeah, I agree, like Pyromaniac, only for the electric weapons.

Why not a perk that improves V.A.T.S. damage?TheMaintenanceGuy 11:14, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I kinda want a perk that allows you to create NEW custom weapons ( laser sword, Special Energy Weapons, etc.)- Bruteslayer 412

I bet during the main quests you will get a perk that translates the aliens language for you =) TheMaintenanceGuy 11:19, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Maybe a perk that allows you to target enemies' eyes and groin in VATS? Or something that improves the health of your limbs (not reducing damage, like Adamantium Skeleton)

Could the Enclave be involved in Zeta?[]

I read an article a while back about the enclave attempting to travle to the moon, could they be involved? -random person with no name. who now has a name.--Bayonetta 18:10, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

If they did attempt to go to the moon like you mentioned, it's possible that Enclave soldiers are among those who have been captured.

I wouldnt be surprised if that were true considering how little the enclaves had to do with any of the DLC besides Broken Steel

i whould expect the enclave, so far in dlc's they've been a shadow of their former selves. my hope is that they have alien power armor or some perk that makes you half alien or something, oh and a lightsaber but they could pull a gundam and call them beamsabers or heatrods. Gwyllgi 01:14, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

They scrapped the idea because it was too hard to create a working spaceship (though in Van Buren you would be able to travel into space following the bad guys) Kalalokki 23:26, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Maybe the crashed Delta IX rocket in vernon square was a failed attempt to get to the moon during the greeat war, or maybe to the E.T.Lenov 16:12, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey! I was gonna say the exact same thing?! Wait that was my post before i got an account!--Bayonetta 17:47, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

LOL-sign up quickly! ive been editing since december but its just today i got a account! anyway mybe the enclave used a rocket to get the obital stricke platform working?-falloutboy101

IDK if they will use the enclave in this DLC, since in Broken Steel they are pretty mutch wiped out.--Adam 17:20, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Well the enclave werent totaly wiped ou in broken steel, becuase when you exit the tower on the mobile base you see a vertibird flying off into the distance

They might be in the DLC by using a rocket of some sort because I noticed that the mobile base looked a lot like the Crawlers (not sure if that's what they were called) NASA uses to move space shuttles into certain places so maybe the Enclave used that?--Wildsamich 08:58, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

what to expect[]

well, im thinkin it starts with a signal like always lol, that leads you to the alien ship crash you found before, but this time another ship will be waiting near it and will pick up up in some way(probably cutscene like in point lookout when you fall through the floor). not really sure how good the new effects will be, they did an ok job with that in point lookout, but that was just an explosion..... then they'll lock you in probably energy barrier, maybe like the barriers in broken steel, where youll see more people who got abducted, they might slip you a key or somethin and youll get out and try to rescue them too. id also think that you would be able to look outside a window of the ship and see earth? if they go that far with you aboard. you wont have any weapons so then you will have to pick up some alien blasters when you wander around the ship. they might have some new robots that will attack you, and some aliens too. although by the time you make it to their leader, im not sure there will be to much compromize about taking you back lol. or maybe there will and youll make a deal to get something for them on earth, or maybe youll kill them and try to fly back? haha i doubt it, you would probably land on the moon. im guessing all you will get from this new dlc is a couple alien blasters, some new alien weapons, and a space suit, but good luck fitting into a 3 foot tall migit suit.- mat mod

hahaha this is sick idea buy not with the deal bit :P

You're right, that sounds exactly like the kind of thing Bethesda would do. - Ollie

well if im not right im close at least lol, bethesda really knows how to get everyone's hopes up for not that much, but i enjoyed point lookout so we'll see what they do this time around. - mat mod

OOO Maybe they could be a different race of aliens like the vogons and they are going to destroy the earth for a intergalactic highway and not because of Theta~User:Questmaster216

You got that from Hitchikers guide to the galaxy.

Alien Robotics[]

Okay, so if a Sentry bot can survive 3 or 4 alien blaster shots before dying (Maybe more), how can Bethesda not make alien robots ridicously over-powered?--Master of cheeZ 03:17, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Energy Shields, the robots would have a very high defense say 85% because they are protected by energy shields and not by armor. (its alien tech after all). The weakness being the armor doesn't apply to pulse grenades/mines. Some kind of advanced brain bot would fit into the alien scheme and its ability to auto cripple the head would be dangerous.

A robot built for speed and close range combat could be a threat in the close quarters of a ship. The best solution for a sentry bot when stealth isn't an option is to get in close and circle around. Or just charge in, crouch and deactivate if you have the robotics expert perk, no sneak required.--LordVukodlak 01:35, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

They should make the Alien Robotics like the Terminators's exo-skeleton (without skin)!!!! - FalloutFreek

If you're seen the new screen shot for the robots and drone cannon, they look like the tripods from war of the worlds.--Master of cheeZ 21:19, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Travel?[]

i was thinking like totaly out of the blue what if you can contact them to pick you up orbeam you up after the main-questline. also maybe making the Alien crash site a marked location. lastly a new item?... it will be used to contact the Aliens.--Wastelander6969 04:00, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah!!! But what if you can get your own private ship as a house!!!!! Beam me up! -Star Trek reference

i have read this entire page and everybody wants a new house i just don't think it will happen--Wastelander6969 07:30, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Its not that crazy to think of a new house. They did give us one with point lookout(kenny's Cave).--Adam 17:16, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

I think the alien ship would have lots of location inside it since its a mothership and you can fast travel to each location but instead outside it should be inside of the ship Elvoblue 14:32, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

The ship could land and be a new city with shops and a new home --5:33pm 01:58, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, since the ship will probably leave the planet, it could land on another one.(maby) There could be an alien planet full of aliens that dont want to eat you??--Adam 17:13, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Quests[]

Just an interesting thought here, but what if there was a quest you from got big bald russian guy in a red shirt that was taken captive. The reward for the quest would be a minigun called Sasaha, that fired much faster and had double ammunition then a normal minigun. you would also get a perk called Heavy Weapons Guy and would instantally give you say, 20 more Big Gun Points. TF2 reference anyone? Volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 23:31, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

How about a quest where the aliens deploy a tripod (war of the worlds easter egg) to attack rivet city and you have to stop it by getting inside it and use a alien detonator to blow up the power core. Its empty shell will fall onto rivet city and take a chunk out of that stupid boat.TheMaintenanceGuy 11:16, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

That would be awesome except for the fact that most of the quests will probably take place inside ship. and next time remember to sign with 4 of these~. Volklskier25--75.69.194.13 11:44, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Im thinking more along the lines of 1. you get ubducted 2. you kill every alien in sight 3. Get some giant weapon like in independence day and can destroy any target you want ( also i think that they should add another DLC so that you can go to another Planet!!!!)- Bruteslayer 412

I have a feeling that the mothership zeta quests will start in the capital wasteland.TheMaintenanceGuy 11:16, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I think it starts out with the lone wanderer going to inspect something, and then you get into a radius, and then the screen goes into a cutscene, which is where the aliens come in.

Yeah, maybe some guy's brahmin are gettimg abducted lol.

Yeah but how many places in the capital wasteland have enough brahmin for it to be significant i think its more likely that you follow a signal like evry other DLC it seems to be a habit of Bethesda to start quests that way. Insane14 00:05, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

nope it's WAY too early for a trailer release, look for it around maybe the 15th of July - mat mod

G.E.C.K for the 360?[]

On a totaly unrelated note I really hope when XBOX releases its internet browser, Bethesdia will follow suit by releasing a Free ( Are you listening to me microsoft and bethesdia?) version of the G.E.C.K for the 360. i do not want to fricking pay for what P.C users don't have to! Volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 11:50, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

It wouldn't work on 360. You have no idea how hard it would be to use on the 360 controller. Fat Man Spoon 11:54, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

maybe i don't know, but i would still love to create custom weapons and armor on the 360. maybe they could do a smaller scale G.E.C.K only for the xbox, tune it to the xboxe's controlls. Volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 12:03, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

I never said I didn't want it. It PAINS me that I don't have it. Fat Man Spoon 12:06, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

YES, IM NOT ALONE!!! FREEDOM!! PRASE THE LORD! (or allaha or whatever god you believe in.) but seariously even if they do release it, if microsoft makes us pay for it i will be very VERY PISSED! Volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 12:15, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Xbox internet browser? Gabriel Cortez 12:17, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

didn't you hear from E3? they're making an internet browser for the 360! Volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 12:21, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Nope, didn't hear that, will suck though. Btw, it would be nice with a GECK but I hardly think they'd re-do it for us 360 users then re-do it for ps3 users later aswell yknow. Anyway, I'd love to just have a weapon modification bench. A guy modifies your weapon and you'll have to pay caps. You could upgrade

  • Damage Per Shot
  • Spread
  • Pellet's
  • Clip
  • Reload Time
  • Critical Chance
  • Critical Damage
  • Effect Damage (Paralyse for 5 sec, Fire damage, Electric damage, Poison Damage, Knockout, Auto-cripple etc)
  • AP Cost (REALLY expensive)
  • Item HP
  • Self-Repair (Choose what kind of weapons can repair it, anything from a 10mm pistol to a fatman, although this one costs)
  • Explosive range (Area Of Effect Weapons)
  • Sound Effect

If they added this I'd be happy enough. And with console commands so I could spawn trogs all over the place, then I'd be in heaven. Gabriel Cortez 12:26, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

oh yah i also forgot to rave about the command console, but in retrospect it isn't a great idea. there is no way to type on the 360. and why redo it for PS3 what do they deserve? Volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 12:31, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

A great idea, just immagin a shotgun that shot mini nukes as pellets, and used shotgun ammo im in heavin if that happened! volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 12:36, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

one more thing wouldn't the console defeat the pourpous of the caps bench if you can just give yourself unlimited caps? Volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 12:56, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Well it's all about self-restraint, PC players can already fuck around with the game however they want to, why should we be forced to not have the same choice? And that's what it comes down to, choices, you can add 9999 APC's to your inventory and only walk around with the alien blaster, or you can just use your ordinary weapons. Gabriel Cortez 14:53, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

exactly! why do pc users deserve more than xbox? isn't it the xbox that makes a pretty good chunk of bethesdia game revenue? i don't see why we don't deserve the same--75.69.194.13 17:22, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Sound effects, eh? I'd make my shotgun Quack. And the Fat Man yell Billy Mays Lines. Lord Spoonfield III 18:03, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

I was thinking along the line of having sawed off shotgun sound for a combat and vice versa and stuff like that. Gabriel Cortez 20:46, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

true true billy mays voice hitting you is like a nuclear shock wave! Volklskier25 19:02, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

For one even having a smaller geck ould be amazingly hard to do as it would have have acess to game files and the geck ould be huge probably taking up a good portion of your hard drive and the interface ould be rlly haed to use on the xbox67.186.39.155 21:49, 4 July 2009

as i mentioned before they could re configure the interface, and because most people have he 60GB hard drive, it won't matter much. Volklskier25 23:16, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Would you not rather wait for FO4, so that it doesn't mess up their development time? Anyway, FO4 may HAVE a GECK built in to the 360 version. Lord Spoonfield III 23:19, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

i never thought about it that way, thanks for the useful insight. and i hope bethesdia will be nice enough to do so. Volklskier25 23:23, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

this would be a fantastic upgrade for the 360 but lets face it, computers are just easier to link things to, which makes them the most hands on creative of all things to play games on, and other things too. it would work however, if it was designed to work like that in the first place, i mean look at halo 3, it was designed like that from the begining- mat mod

exactly, but halo's forge is very simple, plus it isn't as big a game, nor can you make custom weapons or armor. Volklskier25 16:10, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

What about a map maker like with farcry 2 and you can like invite freinds int your world or something

i want my own personally cusomized Power Armor!

For the person who said that the size of the geck wouldnt matter,I have an elite with a 120 GB hard drive and I no I would miss 20-30GBs because thats what it would require to have a geck with a decent interface that could do more than a very simple hex mode to give you god mode and unlimited caps plus what about the people who are poor and only have a 20GbZ67.186.39.155 11:56, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

i have a 20G hard drive, and still it can be small like forge. if they don't give us geck atleast give us a command console! Volklskier25 20:15, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Ummmm I downloaded the GECK really quick to see how big it was and it's not even 1 GB, it's 8 MB....so I don't really see any problem for memory other than the fact that if people go crazy with custom weapons and stuff.....that would probably eat up your memory but the GECK for PC only taps into the Fallout3 files so you can use them. so I'm guessing that to use the GECK for 360 you would just have to install the game onto your hard drive like I did that only took up about say 6-7 GB but hey, that's just my guess. OH and for the controls I was thinking they could add like a cursor you can just move around with the 360 controller or something like Halo 3's forge or like GMOD.--Wildsamich 09:23, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

I could deal without the geck but command console would be the very best thing to happen to fallout 3 360 main reason cut weapons spawning multiple enemies oh and they need to update it soon my entire game is freezin and glitchin -Teiger678

I just want to download mods of like Fallout3nexus to my 360. - DesuOwnz

Captives?[]

a great thing would to make 2 captives that looked lik Billy Mays and Michel Jackson, as a tribute to them. the alean theme would go great with michel but i don't see how billy mays would fit in. Volklskier25 --75.69.194.13 12:20, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

BILLY MAYS IS (was) THE KING! Fat Man Spoon 12:24, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

no, billy mays would fit in because the aliens would be about to kill him but then he gets into his salesman act and then they hire him to sell alien blasters, and ammo.- mat mod

Maybe it would go a little bit like this?, Hi Billy Mays heer with an amazing product!, the Alien Blaster, it burns things make plue dust of everything you hate!, and is very compact and durable made of a high impoact alien plastic. You get the alien blaster 50 power cells and an amazing LIFETIME WARRANTY for 2 easy paments of $29.99 and if you call now well throw in the FIRELANCE A 200$ offer yours free but wait thats not all, If you call in the next 5 mins you can get 1200 powercells for 2 easy payments of $19.99, you in all you get the Alien Blaster the Firelance and 1250 Power Cells all for a grand offer of 2 quick and easy payments of 49.99!!! call now the number is 555-5555-55555.Lenov 16:28, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

How about Elvis? love to spend some time in space with rock & roll!

Yes i would too but billy mays and michel jackson died recently. Volklskier25 15:47, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

i bet a new follower in mothership zeta![]

in mothership zeta there has to be a prisoner, and like if you free him he will be a new follower on earth for a alien or human?

Seeing as they haven't added a follower in any of the other I woulden't be surprised if they didn't add one in this either. But I think it would be a bad move on bethesda's part as many of us would definatly like an alien follower. Hell I'd like a scrapper as a follower too. Gabriel Cortez 15:07, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

really, would anyone care if you got ANOTHER human follower, no, not at all, if thats the case you would still pick charon over another human. bottom line, alien follower or nothing.

Well, I'd like a cocky psychotic(?) Pitt Raider as a follower. Gabriel Cortez 13:55, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Considering no DLC has yet allowed you to even bring a follower with you. I doubt this DLC will add one. At least not one that exists outside of Zeta. As for Clover give her a helmet or Buttons wig to solve her hair problem.--LordVukodlak 07:49, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Goty available[]

A bit off topic would i be available to by the game in london or russia

You would be able to get it in London but I don't know about Russia did the game get a goty award in Russia? If yes then you should be able to get it.

COMBAT[]

I agree with you on the combat thing. I think its kinda funny how Bethesda thinks that raiders can stand a chance agains a level 20 character let alone a level 30. But i think (from what ive seen of the Alien Blaster and Firelance) that combat will HAVE to be more difficult. I mean whats going to happen when you get rushed by 10 aliens with alien blasters? youll probaly get disengrated.

Dude I really really really really really want them to have alien blaster with +30 irresistable damage. I want something that's way too hard. I mean, come one bethesda! Street Fighter 2 is almost impossible at Extreme, and we all run around at Very Hard and complain about it being too easy. I want the aliens to strut around the Wasteland equipped with ridiculously high damage weapons so we actually have something that's hard. Actually, what is Very Hard at the moment should be the actual medium difficulty.Gabriel Cortez 23:29, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

I just want Instamash and (possibly) a follower who's a duck. Lord Spoonfield III 23:45, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Ya i kinda want this DlC to be f-ing hard on easy!!- Bruteslayer 412

Im just saying that even on very hard my best characters smoke anythin with either stealth combat or just plain old good use of a fully repaired alien blaster.- Bruteslayer 412

That would be stupid, just put it on hard or very hard if you want it to be difficult or more challenging. - DesuOwnz

What Desu said. Besides, you're fighting a bunch of aliens with the strongest weapons ingame, using unlimited ammo (like all enemy NPC's do)

I think it'll be hard. 68.9.69.240 19:12, 10 July 2009 (UTC)InternetDouche

mothership zeta side quests?[]

First of all i would think that this, of all the DLC, would have some unique side quests. My thoughts are that it would be based on what decisions you made while playing mothership zeta. For example: if you decided to help the aliens, they would ask if you would recover some valuable technology they lost for them that has been spread over the wastes and in exchange they would give you some powerful armor, weapons, and lets not forget MORE alien power cell ammo!. OR if you decided to turn agianst them, you would meet a new group of people who track and kill aliens and get their technology, and they ask you to join them in doing this, which would be the other way of gaining the new weapons, armor, and ammo. please post your suggestions! - mat mod

i like this idea but except for the weird people they should make an ammo press than can make alien power cells :P

yes exactly what I was thinking about, and or being able to travel to an alien planet or crashing the ship in the wasteland. - DesuOwnz

I would like to see some new things in this DLC, i have opened up a blog on the subject here:User blog:Admc93--Adam 16:31, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

Why not a quest where you have to find a special alien experiment that escaped to the capital wasteland? When you find it you will zap it and aliens will abduct it

Still LIMITED ammunition!!!! WTF?!?![]

I read the interview and they said that the ammunition for the alien weapons is still limited!!!! WTF'S?!!!?!?!?!?

I personally feel that unlimited alien power cells would kinda defeat the purpose of alien blaster. Yes, we all would like more, but an infinite respawnable amount? Think about it. Alien Blaster and firelance are ultimate weapons to be used as Trump Cards when you have no other options. The limited ammo helps keep in balance what is one of the most ridiculously powerful guns in the game. ----

No, you misunderstood! He ment it respawns, but only by a small amount of ammo at a time. So like, 5 power cells respawn at a time. Get it?

Eh? There is a new interview? Gabriel Cortez 11:00, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Yep, and it also sounds like the weapons from the add-on are going to be truly gamebreaking, they said the weapons from this DLC would be the most powerful ones in the game. Of course, our enemies would have them too, so it will be pretty balanced. It'd be like fighting Super Mutants with Fat Men on a regular basis. 70.108.158.34 13:27, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Wait... how do you know it respawns? Gabriel Cortez 14:31, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
We don't know that it respawns. Only that there is more of it than we already have. In fact I think he is saying it doesn't respawn.

umm links to this interview please? - DesuOwnz

http://www.oxm.co.uk/article.php?id=11910.....

thank you. - DesuOwnz

Im glad its still limited, if these weapons are as absolutely overpowered as they're leading us on to think. Balance issue wise, Energy weapons become way too powerful if ACP become dirt-easy to find. Being able to procure these weapons right at the beginning doesn't help either. The ammo never exactly was limited to start with though, when you think about it. Technically speaking its possible to farm encounter points until an alien ship crashes and drops ammo. 68.9.69.240 18:53, 10 July 2009 (UTC)InternetDouche

man i want enemies to respawn with alien power cells so that the alien blaster can shoot its no point carrying a gun without a battery on it..

Possibly weapons from the past[]

As what Gardiner said in the interview, " Let's just say, the aliens have been watching the planet evolve for quite some time"... That gives me a clue that they have some weapons in the past... Also, if they are to give new followers, I wish they respawn like some in TES

I agree with this statement. a good example is like in preadtor, when he boreds the ship and they give him a pistol. Im really hoping that they have good condition because im getting tired of scrounging for Chinese officer swords for jingweis.

My best guess is the X227 Viper Magnetic Rail Cannon from the Tech Meusam

I definetly think that they should put in the "Scoped Hunting Rifle" from Fallout2, and the "Pump-Action Shotgun" from Fallout:Tactics And if their is new armor I would want the "Leather Jacket" from Fallout 2.- FallouFreek

Who cares about weapons and armor from the old fallout games? Some may be worthwhile, but seriously, wouldn't it be better with NEW weapons?

The Official website says you will team up with "Unlikely historical figures the aliens have abducted" so I imagine you will use weapons they had (i.e. a katana)--User:Nichos354

what abbout weapons from the future --5:33pm 21:08, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Okay... How is it possible for time travel.... Even Fallout universe breaks some of the laws of physics and they still cant make a time TRAVEL POSSIBLE... Besides, IT IS THE FUTURE....Just like the poster, "PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE"

there aliens this is the fallout universe and most importantinly this is a videogame --5:33pm 21:21, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Screenshots[]

where did you find that, Sentinel 101? - DesuOwnz

A link is provided here. --Sentinel 101 14:29, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey, look at the screenshot! Isn't it a GIANT CANNON under the glass-like platform? Looks like trouble for earth people.. By the way, the aliens uses the same model as the corpse found in the original game. Not surprised:) Master Mold 17:15, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Wish they atleast used different suits >.>. "Nearly no reused assets". I guess the reused asset was the alien model with no alterations. Atleast i still have the alien robots to look forward to. Btw, nice job on the screenshot, loving how the ship will look ~InternetDouche

WTF!!!GIANT CANNON :)

I noticed that too. Im going to love this DLC, i know that. I'm almost as excited to see what modders do with its resources as i am to see the actual content. ~InternetDouche

Well guys, it seem we have another weapon- The alien pistol. And no, its not the regular blaster, LOOK AT IT!!!!! Weel

I have to admit guys, im starting to get excited about this DLC. The graphics on this one are amazing.

Lol there's no point of blasting the earth with a cannon, it's already been blown to shit with nukes ^^ Stupid aliens...--Grandmaster Chen 14:44, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

lmao i agree with you grand master but maybe theyll use it to wipe out humanity for good and your mission is to destroy it maybe -- BY: Elvoblue

man that screenshot is beautiful look it looks awesome from the view that u can see the earth for the first time on fallout :P i wish u can still go there after u done the quest - Elvoblue

Who knows? Maybe The ship crashes to earth at the end and you can still go back in. I dont see much reason too unless the obductees turn it into some sort of city. Now that would be interesting.--Radraider 01:09, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

The creators said you can go back to the spaceship for all the alien items so look forward to that -- Killerpope

i hope this is like the tiny bottom part so there is alot more places to go plus i hope you could hack an ailien terminal and blow up somthing with that HUGE ASS CANNON!

who the fuck put new armor and put space suit on it how would we know if the guy is wearing a space suit looks like a vault suit to me

Well If you think about it. Would the aliens realy leave you with all your stuff? I think its a jumpsuit thye put on all there obductees. That would make sense.--Radraider 02:22, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

But then it does not make sense that every abductee gets a Vault 101 jumpsuit ;-)

True! But it looks an awful lot like a vault jumpsuit. Besides, JeffGardener said you have to "Space Walk", so.....-FalloutFreek

i wont even use any alien power cells my unarmed skill is good anyway besides they say its limited right.......- Elvoblue

New Screenshots out!!! - DesuOwnz

i told you guys that suit is just a normal vault suit people on bethesda loves wearing vault 101 suit which show that the guy is the lone wanderer its not a damn space suit...- elvoblue

Lazarz! 8) questmaster216 7/15/09 11:15

You know how stupid some of you sound right? The screen shot if of the LW in a vault suit. But that means absolutely nothing as to the look of the space suit. There have been no screen shots of the space suit yet.--98.240.210.20 21:11, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

^^QFT. Throughout nearly all of Bethesda's presentations of Fallout content they have shown the Lone Wanderer in the Vault Suit. I think their doing that has had the adverse effect on you guys, in which you are all idiots. If they had put the Lone Wanderer in BoS armor you would all think that he was a Paladin. If they had put him in Raider Armor you would all think he was Raider. Yet, here, they put him in his iconic Vault Suit and you all immediately jump to the conclusion that it's the Space Suit...
Now, for what I was actually going to say. Although they say they're trying to minimize reused assets I get the feeling that the 'Blast Off Helmet' will be re-implemented as part of the Space Suit. If not the helmet more than likely at least the model. Of course the Alien found at the Alien Recon ship would be used or you would have people QQ'ing that it's "Inconsistent". With that said, it would make sense that maybe the Recon Alien had different armor, and I would like to see some variation. As far as shooting the world with the cannon goes it sounds really fun but what could you gain from it? This addon wouldn't allow you to change the Wasteland so dramatically, yet blasting another section of the world wouldn't do anything for you. Of course, I could always be wrong. =]
Looking forward to this addon. Just finished Broken Steel and it was worth it - this one looks FAR superior though. Can't wait! ^^ --SephyrLlanir 11:19, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

It would be cool if we could put on the alien suit at the crash site. Could you imagin raiding megaton with the suit and blaster!--Radraider 18:02, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Ha Ha Ha....yeah...they would be like...CAPTAIN COSMOS IS ATTACKING! Which might mean.....Jango the Moon monkey as a follower! - FalloutFreek

trying to swim in space wouldn't work to well but the suit might have little boosters on it to let you spin around and stuff like that.ima firin ma lazar 15:04, 16 July 2009

The suit probably going to be one of those spacesuits they used in the 1960s, and to do a space walk outside of the ship you use some kind of a gun that shoots air to propel you. Another DLC coming (I hope/guess)[]

I just finished Broken Steel again and im pretty sure there's going to be another DLC. The super mutant dilemma still has no resolution. So im guessing the last DLC for F3 will just as big as Broken Steel but involving the super mutants :o - SomeDude

Serirously? They're a bunch of knuckleheads which are looking for more green stuff to make more of them, how complicated is that!?! Seriously, we already had super mutant as major storyline in F1, I don't want a major one in F3. Hell, don't have super mutants in F4 dude, anyway, I've bought every DLC becuse I feel the need to, but a super mutant DLC would be so pointless and irritating that I woulden't EVER consider buing it. There is a story behind them, they're looking for more green stuff to turn more humans into them becuse they feel that they're the new generation of humanity... "OH MY GOD! This isn't the storyline from F1!!!"! No, it is. Leave the super mutants, they're done for anyway. Gabriel Cortez 02:17, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
No Supermuties in F4? FTW? Muties are an essential part of the Fallout universe. Fallout without them would not make any sense! =D
Supermutants are not essential Fallout elements. Moron. 15px-Scribe.jpg Tagaziel (call!) 17:52, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Hey, it was just my oppinion. But ok, no Muties in Fallout ... fine. Which things would you like to cut next? Deathclaws? Ghouls? Energy weapons? Sorry, pal, but I think they need to be in there. -Moron, 21:23, 07.16.*09 (UTC)
Chances are when the next Fallout game is released it will be under the assumption that the PC activated the Purifier without using the FEV. The only way that (Theoretically) all of the Super Mutants would become extinct (In The Capital Wasteland, at least) would be if they ran under the assumption the modified FEV killed them all. Of course, that would really just turn this game into GTA minus the cars. If they did that, it would kill half of the franchise and no-one would buy the game. And that said, if all of the Super Mutants in the Capital Wasteland died they would just move the next Fallout game to a new location. So sorry buddy, your vendetta against the Super Mutants fails. I've got plenty more to add to this rant, but your mind seems set so it probably wouldn't matter anyway... --SephyrLlanir 11:33, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

If they do make another DLC I hope that it takes place in Ronto I want to se how strong Ronto really is.

That's west coast, you want west coast? Think pass the graphics and maybe the gameplay and play F2. Gabriel Cortez 03:40, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Woah! Was Toronto blown right over to the west coast in the fallout universe!?... You muppet.

No, the Super Mutant DLC that won't come would be about observing their conversations. "I think I knew a woman...no, was a woman. GRAAHHH THINKING'S SO HARD." *Quest Completed* AlbinoTitan 02:21, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I think it's safe to say that F1 and F2 weren't made by the same company(duh) so stop fucking looking in the past ffs (no?) -.-

F1 this and F2 -___-* Shut the fuck up. -Jordan D. 11-07-09 4:55

...What? So... We're not allowed, according to the oh holy mighty Jordan, to talk about F1 and 2? I thought this was the fallout wikia which includes all fallout games but I guess I was wrong oh mighty Jordan, please forgive me my lord! *Extreme sarcasm* Gabriel Cortez 18:50, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello i noticed in the screen shot 3 things the earth is green and healthy, there is a new jumpsuit, and that blaster is awsome. Concerning the possibility of a follower from outer space i think he will be a descendant of captured humans who rebelled against the aliens simillar to sg1 or maybe that it is a human genetic or cybernetic experiment who's got unique powers also i think the follower should look like Kirk or Picard.

thats the old jump suit dumb ass its the armored vault 101 jump suit

Sorry to be a buzz-kill but Mothership Zeta is the LAST Fallout 3 DLC *Oh wait, Nitpicker will get me if I don't say add-on* …Fallout 3 DLC add-on. Bethesda said so in a press release. --Bloodscar 15:18, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

they said that about broken steel

Well, in my imagination... If they are ever to make a super muty Add-on, I want a scenario where the super mutant launches a full scale attack on the CW... Then we discover that there is another Master like dude that controls them... That would be awesome... New creatures like a super mutated deathclaw and respawning behemoths...--BloodOmelet 20:15, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

RONTO WOULD BE THA PWNAGE (only really saying that because I live there lol), I would love to see how accurate they can make the Downtown Area, like CN Tower, Rogers Center, The 401 etc. SplittingTheAtom 20:21, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Story[]

This is what I think happens: You get abducted, you go to big gun, you destroy it OR let it shoot at a target of your choice, the ship crashes after it shoots, you survive somehow. //--TehK 10:53, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

It would be real nice if we could use the gun on something in CW. I'd like to blow up GNR studio aswell. Gabriel Cortez 12:10, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah,i chose the good guy side in BS,so i wanna blow up the citadel and get my callahans magnum! Mr.75 15:43, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
I think a gun that siz wiould remove all trace of the target
Perhaps its like a realy big artillery; you get some sort of laserpointer and when you've marked an enemy it will be shattered in sub-atomic bits, a few seconds later.
Has anyone considered it mightn't be a gun? You can't quite see the entirety of it so for all we know it could be a satellite, a power conduit, or even just a giant alien chandelier. As far a story goes I get the feeling we'll finally figure out why the Recon Ship was sent to Earth. Maybe that thing is a gun and maybe he was getting co-ordinates or scavenging something before we went a-splode? Maybe we'll get access to a Government holding facility where they hold Alien Corpses and the Recon ship was sent to recover them? Maybe you could use aforementioned cannon to shoot down another alien fleet? Who knows? Whatever it is - I get the feeling it'll be awesome. Amirite? --SephyrLlanir 11:45, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

And again I'll come here talking about that, but... Fallout 3 really needs a satisfying BOSS fight!!! I want something cool to shoot besides Behemoths, Ant Queens and Colonel Autumns (those are pushover, however;). Master Mold 14:35, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Alien Queen, anyone? --SephyrLlanir 11:45, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't know why, I just have a feeling that supermutants are involved in zeta. Has anyone else got this feeling?

Chances are the Aliens have abducted a few. I hope there are random events aboard the ship - I'd love to see a war between Muties and Aliens.

Hmmm... the FEV could be part of the story! :) Master Mold 16:08, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Right! The aliens which contracted FEV could slowly turn into humans! :-O Nah, just kidding, but I think there will be a lot of wierd stuff the aliens are experimenting with.

i can tell you what the story for this dlc because its on the main page. you will be ubducted and you will meet other ubducted people from the eaths past and present and you will plot your escape and my bet is some of the ubducted people from the past will be people that disapeared from eaths past like Amelia Earhart who disapeared in 1932 so on and so forth and there is posible that the aliens are planing on blowing up the earth because they may think earth is a threat

A nuclear desert with most of its inhabitants struggling to survive, would be a threat?

^^QFT. It'd be like sneezing at a Grizzly bear. A radio-active sneeze, but a sneeze none-the-less. Say buh-bye to your face! ^^ --SephyrLlanir 11:45, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

are there still a human race in existance and is there still nukes in the waistland and what did the human race do to it self when they got the chance they blew each other up so what the aliens could be thinking when you emerge from the vault as man kind used to be unmutated then you might try to kill there world if you find the things to do so.

Capture a scout ship[]

I think that in this DLC, you should be able to capture a smaller ship like the one in the Alien Crash Site, and maybe even salvage some tech for the brotherhood of steel. There are, in fact, mods for Fallout 3 that make it possible to pilot a vehicle.₳€₠₯№₦ℳ₩¥♠♣♦♥ ₩₥R ₦€V€R CH₥₦₢€S 18:23, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Oh yeah! Bring protector casadin a ship! "Uhhh Mr.Casadin. I think you should see this."

lol protector casdin would go err would u like 1000stimpaks 1000 rad aways 56k .556 or 3k frag grenades lol

I don't think we'll hava a ship to pilot, but... maybe a new residence! A home located in a alien space station with a teleportation tool which could bring you here any moment (and from any place). Could be fun to bring on some raiders and watch their reaction... Master Mold 14:40, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Like a Mesmetron, except more of a Translocator? Aim it at someone and *poof*! They get beamed up to the Mothership to be lolpwnd by the Aliens? Sounds fun! =D --SephyrLlanir 11:50, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

For me having a new house would be cool, but it would be a pain in the a$$, cause I'd have to move everything from my house to the other. - DesuOwnz

my only question how do you get back to the ship after you leave a little devise in you pocket beam me up scotty that sort of thing know what im saying

Mmm chances are something like that. Maybe you forge an alliance with the Aliens and they beam you up when you get near the ship? I dunno. I get the feeling you'll be able to activate a beacon on the Recon ship and that'll be what beams you up? Maybe you crash the ship somewhere on Earth? So many posibilities.... --SephyrLlanir 11:50, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Alien Averages[]

I'd noticed (Like everyone else) that the aliens in this screenshot are small, and very child-like. However, seeing as the alien in the crash site was taller, I'm speculating a reference to Invader Zim's "Tallest".--Master of cheeZ 18:15, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Chances are it's not a reference to Invader Zim, but generally aliens of fiction (And even the pictures of 'Real Life Martians' etc etc) are quite short, normally only like 4 feet tall. I think the Alien at the Crash site is shorter than the PC, too. Besides, if they were going to be that blatant with the references chances are the Alien at the crash site would be wearing Red and the other one on the ship would be wearing Purple and eating cookies. --SephyrLlanir 12:04, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

The Aliens ain't small... The Lone Wanderer is just standing higher... maybe on a platform. Master Mold 18:39, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

The aliens are also distanced.

I see no reason that the Lone Wanderer should be standing on a platform, also no proof. Not to mention my depth perception is perfectly capable of determining the size of the aliens at the distance of the screenshot.--Master of cheeZ 05:10, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

"Depth Perception"? Do you have some kind of 3D projector or something? I want one! Other than that, I didn't realise you needed Depth Perception to see something on a Computer Screen. --SephyrLlanir 12:03, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Why do people always want a reason for someone to stand on a platform? When I stand on a platform no one walks up to me and says "Hey, why are you standing on that platform? Do you have any reason to be standing on that platform?" and I would reply "Ermmmm, no" TheMaintenanceGuy 15:40, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Mold, there is no platform.--Master of cheeZ 16:16, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

They might look smaller because of how they stand. Shadowrunner56

Don't try and stand on the platform, that's impossible. Only accept the truth; there is no platform. 87.82.26.148 07:48, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

"Depth Perception"? Do you have some kind of 3D projector or something? I want one! Other than that, I didn't realise you needed Depth Perception to see something on a Computer Screen.

Oh? I'm the only one who plays Fallout 3 in 3D? Or do you just not know how to determine how far away things are? Even if they're in a picture.--Master of cheeZ 20:15, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Prisoner[]

I hope there will be interesting prisoners. A guy kind of the old enclave of Fallout 2, another of the Brotherhood of Steel, a Japanese from the time of Fallout 3 (Samurai Armor could come to for example), a ghoul who has experienced war, a good Talon-mercenary, a intelligent Super Mutant and other equally interesting is its nice. I waiting with impatient the DLC, the best in my opinion!

Would be great to meet a character from Fallout 1 or 2... someone who will be quickly remembered, but still not a part of the games main plot... like Razor or Rhombus from F1, or one of the talking deathclaws from F2... or Goris ;) Master Mold 16:01, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Oh, I forget the Deathclaws ^^ Yes need Goris =D If you do not kill Augustus Autumn, its would be nice to see him again ^^

Im wondering if this armor is going to fall under the category of power armor. because if it dosent then it would be a waste of my time in terms of Damage resitence. If it is power armor it should have like a +15 meele weapons skill and +1 strength.

It said miles above earth. - DesuOwnz

I would point out it has been two centuries sense the war. Just because the east coast around Capital Wasteland is still a dead zone doesn't meant he entire world is. Example Point lookout has trees doesn't it some with actual leaves on them. The entire planet wasn't carpet bombed with nuke. The Pitt was never struck directly nor was Reno in FO2. If certain cities weren't targeted it stands to reason that no one is going to target a nuclear missile at a forest with no urban population. Also I think the window has a green tint to it. --98.240.210.20 21:04, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Ahahaha, of course the world was not carpet bombed... But crap, Earth is almost dead! What happens when we die? We become all pale and stiff right? Well that,s like Earth... Lets say Earth's skin is its atmosphere which became green cuz of greenhouse, radiation, or whatever, since Fallout fucked with the laws of physics and other laws of science.... *Sigh* whatver... Oh yeah, radiation, kills trees, so theres is a possiblity that radiation could've reached forests...

Also I'm rather skeptic to what I'm supposed to be attracted to in this DLC, O:A was my first DLC ever, understandable, in The Pitt you could return, better than anchorages one-way trip, Broken Steel had new level cap aswell as 4 new high level enemies, awesome, and Point Lookout was the first real freeroam map, awesome again. I am the one who was talking about Shrapnel, in the interview and at the top of this specific section it clearly states that you will ally yourself with people FROM THE PAST AND THE CAPITAL WASTELAND and I didn't enslave flak, Shrapnel just keeps leaving Rivit City.--Wastelander6969 03:36, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Level Cap[]

There will never be an increased level cap beyond level 30. The absolute limit has been reached so top cluttering up the talk page with useless wishing. http:multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/07/17/bethesda-further-level-cap-increases-could-unbalance-fallout-3/

G4TV.com has but an article up saying that they have already broke the game by making the level cap 30 so they could add another 10 levels add it would have no effect on the gameBigDogW 11:56, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Making the cap 40 would be redundant. If you planned your character well you can have all stats at 100. If they even increased the cap to only 35 that still leaves a potential 110 skill points, so the only way to balance that out would to be to add two new skills, which would seriously nerf all of the players who don't have the DLC. Grinding to 30 takes forever anyway, 40 would be a nightmare. The article does state it is a possibility, but the original intent of the game (Replayability) was compromised with Broken Steel. I know with my character the only reason I would play through again is to see the different outcomes of the quests... Skills and weapons aren't a concern since Broken Steel. Nearly every Unique can be obtained in one play through... --SephyrLlanir 12:21, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

there's no need to talk about this there not going to raise it ever again. and yes 40 would be a nightmare. - DesuOwnz

Story/Plot[]

Okay... so Bethesda said that we would find out the story of the crashed alien ship... what do you guys think it could include?

And what about that random encounter with the Firelance? Could it be included with the cannon??

how could you fight a Firelance ?--5:33pm 21:21, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

mabey you could braek off a peice of the cannon and you hold it likea gatling lazer but it makes a big a$$ boom like a fatman

Things you wish were in here but aren't going to be[]

I really was hoping for a laser sword of some sort, especially because I just "accidentally" paralyzed Charon with the Victory Rifle off of the top of a SatCom array...and he landed on the platform below. This reminded me of the craptacular (which means bad) Star Wars Episode III, that last scene where Darth Vader gets horribly owned. It starts by him falling down onto a steel platform, like Charon did, and then Ben comes down and starts whupping his ass.

God, I want to reenact that so badly. Just for the sake of it...Also, I have Fallout on the 360 and don't feel like buying Xplorer or an Internet Cable to transfer mods to it from the PC.

1 they have a "shock boton" and i would like a rail gun with a scope so you could shoot throgh walls and see through em a gun that calls the cannon to shot something like you shoot a tracer and you get 30 second to evacuate and a megaton sized boom happens

Have the ability to melee creatures and knock them to the ground damage is based on gun and melee weapons. And a sheild or somthing of that sort like kevalar/aluminum. AND mondife your weapons like upgrade the critical % and rate of fire but minus damage and use like a certant amount of caps

Aliens don't have video cameras, silly! AlbinoTitan 20:17, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

The trailers for DLC have generally been released on the same day as the DLC itself. The only exception was Point Lookout, and that was only because the E3 trailer was leaked. -- Porter21 (talk) 00:29, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, but what about The Pitt & Broken Steel? Were those leaked too? Not to mention Operation: Anchorage didn't even have one. Although if it does then I definitely want to see it.--Master of cheeZ 00:35, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

No, the others were not leaked. The only one which might have been released earlier than the DLC itself might have been The Pitt, not sure about that one. And yes, there is one for Operation: Anchorage. -- Porter21 (talk) 00:40, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't know about you guys but I saw the videos on the XBL Marketplace. I saw a video for The Pitt, Operation: Anchorage, but I never saw any videos for Point Lookout or Broken Steel. And yes, the Pitt video was released prior to the actual DLC. --SephyrLlanir 12:28, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Ok, so they released Point Lookout trailer early just for E3? well thats dumb... I want to watch the trailer for mothership zeta over and over.... Ok, Operation Anchorage trailer was released how many days before the DLC?

Broken Steels got leaked a day or two early. Bethesda kept deleting the youtube vids. //--TehK 04:08, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

every dlc's trailer hit a week of more before the actual dlc except for broken steel and i bet you wont see this one untill there are 7 days left till the dlc comes out and one more thing the people that think bethesda is going to raise the level cap you are all fucking retards they will not do it because there is no need to if you know what you are doing you can get the speacial atrobutes maxed out and all your skills so there is no need for a higher than fucking 30 level cap

From what I remember, O:A trailer came out after or at the same time as the dlc becuse I haven't watched it yet. The Pitt's trailer came out some days before it was released, I remember it becuse I was obsessed with it and watched it over and over and over again. BS's trailer, see TehK's post above, And PL came out at E3 becuse it was E3. So everyone, really, the trailer won't come until maybe 5 days, IF WE'RE LUCKY, before it's release, or maybe there'll be some asshole in the studio which will leak it. Gabriel Cortez 13:08, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

According to gametrailers, the release dates for the trailers were (DLC release dates in parentheses): OA 27/01 (28/01), TP 14/03 (24/03), BS 04/05 (05/05). PL is hard to determine because of the leak; it's officially announced on Bethblog at 23/06 which is also the DLC release date. The TP trailer is a bit of an exception which can be explained with the rather significant delay of the DLC itself (it was originally scheduled for end of February); they probably figured they'd release it to keep people's interest up. So it's very likely the trailer will come out one day early at best unless it is leaked. -- Porter21 (talk) 13:51, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

since the name of this is come on bethesda i hope the give us a small alien recon plain to fly around

Wait, the trailer's release date is the 23rd? That's tommorrow, not to mention the DLC release date has moved to august 3rd.--Master of cheeZ 20:10, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Who said something about the trailer release date being 23rd? -- Porter21 (talk) 20:13, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Arrrrgh!!! I can't wait! 11 days left, and still no trailer!!! Whatever, it'll be released like next week... I am so excited...--BloodOmelet 04:07, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Ammo[]

does anybody else think there will be new rare ammo similar to the APC but for the other weapons such as Drone Canon Disintegrator and the Atomizer? cause if they just use APC then there will need to be a ton more. --Wastelander6969 05:29, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't know why but i think the Disintegrator will use Solar Cells, A form of ammo that packs the heat of the sun. After all the sun would certaintly Disintegrate any living being if harnessed as a weapon.--NukaLurk 05:34, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

thats acually a good thought lol why didn't i think of that.--Wastelander6969 05:42, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Solar cells, hmmmm. problem is what it gonna look like.... How about a bar that fills up if in direct sunlight? About 100 shots in full charge then you need to reload it by sunlight, thats tight... BloodOmelet

Yeah, you lose solar energy (Very Slowly) at night. OOH! LUNAR CELLS!--Master of cheeZ 20:08, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Let's think this one through nice and slowly, now, how many different kinds of ammo for energy weapons are there again? 4, but 3 without the Alien weapon. Microfusion Cells for Rifles, Energy Cells for pistols, and Electron Charge Packs for the Gatling Laser, I find it more than likely that APC's are for the Alien Blaster and that there will be some other form of Power Cell for the other weapons. Sir VicMignogna 17:21, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Mothership Zeta size[]

Judging from the screenshots, the mothership might bigger than Megaton and Rivet city combined... Now this is the thing, the ship won't crash since it would obviously take a lot of space in the map... I also think that the huge cannon in the Alien Atomizer screenshot is a new weapon... You might be given a tageting tool for orbital bombardments... I really hope you can teleport back to the ship if it doesnt crash... One more thing, I WANT RESPAWNING ALIENS BETHESDA!!! What you guys think? BloodOmelet 1:21 July 19, 2009 (UTC)

I think

  • APC will be limited
  • New weaponry will be limited
  • going to be a hell to repair it just like gauss rifle
  • I don't think we'll be able to return
  • I don't think that aliens,robots,mystery creature will respawn
  • I don't think we'll get a new follower
  • I don't think this DLC will be over 5 hours of gameplay

I'm a real pessimist(?) but I honestly don't have that much excitement for Zeta, O:A(first dlc)Pitt(Could return)BS(new cap)PL(A real new area)Zeta(..Killing aliens?) I'm going to buy this but I hardly think it will be that attractive. Gabriel Cortez 13:36, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Okay, Id like alien's respawning but NOT in the capital wasteland, maybe thats what you meant and I misunderstood you.

One thing I liked about the DLCs were that it gave some fresh scenery for a change, you know instead of the brown wasteland with black stumps everywhere, kinda like Oasis and Tranquility Lane, other than that we got ripped off - you pay ~£40 for one fallout game which can give upto 200/300 maybe 400 hours of entertainment, yet the DLCs provide 5/10 tops, so for 5 thats 25/50 and they cost £40/£50 altogether. Who the FISH introduced DLCs?

Also, If we're not able to return...then fuck Bethesda, Im sure there'll be some mod to get us back. I dont think well get a new follower either, or maybe itll be for the duration of the DLC. 90.211.144.84 17:04, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Ha ha, British Pounds? Come on, use Euros like a real socialist. --RedTracer7 01:09, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

I think:

  • APC will respawn, but rarely.
  • New type of ammo, respawning like APCs
  • New weaponry will be similar to ammo.†
  • I don't think we'll be able to return.†
  • I don't think that aliens,robots, mystery creature will respawn.†
  • I don't think we'll get a new follower.†
  • I don't think this DLC will be over 5 hours of gameplay.

Borrowed your template GC, hope you don't mind. But really, since I got all the acheivements for PL in one afternoon sitting, and since that was the biggest DLC yet, this is either gonna be super amazing, even better than BS and PL combined, or s***.

†Might depend on choices made by PC and hostility determined by PC choices. --Master of cheeZ 18:48, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Bethesda finally adds something new to Fallout World[]

Anyway, guys... with Mothership Zeta, Bethesda is adding a VITAL piece of Lore to Fallout universe. I recently read the interview which mentions that old Fallout characters will be in it. That raises the question.....New/Old weapons and armor? Theirs already samuari stuff ( possibly). Alien Cannon or crash in Mothership Zeta[]

I think that at some point in the DLC, you're given the option to either destroy something in the capital wasteland with that big alien cannon on the bottom of the mothership, or set the navigation controls to make it crash into earth.(so you can access the crashed version of the ship. 24.29.25.43 19:54, 20 July 2009 (UTC)NukaColaClear

Alien Power Cells is either...[]

Alien Power Cell will be respawnable or not at all.... But this is what I really think...

If it respawns... It will be sold by vendors... It will be found in possible respawning ass aliens... Ammo press that converts fission batteries or any ammo cells to APC's...

If it doesnt respawn... SCREW IT...—Preceding unsigned comment added by BloodOmelet (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

On the main page it said APC's are still in limited quantity... I was hoping that it would be in limited quantity but to get more you would have to do a sort of A Spoonful of Whiskey type quest to get more. Like bring in some different things and have an NPC combine them to make APC's making it so that if you REALLY want APC's you have to work for them. PhayzeShift 17:35, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

That sounds like the stupidest thing i've ever heard, one alien blaster for a firelance that never breaks? try 10 or 50 alien blasters.--Master of cheeZ 04:17, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

How about we stop fantasizing about new Alien Blasters and Firelances? AlbinoTitan 16:34, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

New? Info[]

Description: Defy hostile alien abductors and fight your way off of the massive Mothership Zeta, orbiting Earth miles above the Capital Wasteland. Mothership Zeta takes Fallout 3 in an entirely new direction – outer space. Meet new characters and join with them in a desperate bid to escape the Aliens’ clutches. To do so, you’ll wield powerful new weapons, like the Alien Atomizer, Alien Disintegrator, and Drone Cannon, and deck yourself out in brand new outfits, like the Gemini-Era Spacesuit and even Samurai Armor.

Story: A strange Alien signal is being broadcast throughout the Capital Wasteland, originating from a crashed UFO. Is it a distress call, or something far more sinister? That question is answered when you find yourself beamed aboard an enormous Alien spacecraft, with only one alternative – to fight your way to the bridge of the ship and secure your escape.

Key Features:

•Find and exploit new and destructive alien technology, like the Alien Atomizer and Drone Cannon.

•Explore the vast Mothership and learn the secrets of the Aliens’ master plan.

•Thwart the Aliens’ attempt to stop your escape, and take over the Alien ship before it wreaks havoc on the unsuspecting Earth below.

•Fight against the Alien Invaders, their robot drones, and turn their own horrible experiments against them.

•Ally yourself with an unexpected array of characters, both from the Capital Wasteland and from Earth ’s past.

I copied this directly from the official site: Direct Link Take anything that isn't already on the MZ page for more info.--Master of cheeZ 19:40, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

This isn't new its been on the site for a week or so, you should check the site more often. - DesuOwnz

I knew that, the 'new' part was because some of this stuff apparently wasn't added to the wiki. I was hoping someone else would do that instead of sitting around wondering what to say about it. oh well, i'll have to do that.--Master of cheeZ 00:26, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

The End[]

"We’ve released the first screenshots for our upcoming DLC, Mothership Zeta, as well as info on what you can expect from our 5th and final DLC for Fallout 3..."

For those who don't know or can't read, this is the final DLC for Fallout 3.--Master of cheeZ 00:51, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

I was hoping that bethesda would do a dead space like thing where they would release a cheap pack with, say, two guns and an armor, or a huge dlc like the shivering isles... --Nichos354

I'm not going to argue, because this is going to be something really fun, but I agree with you that it should be something like shivering isles as in gameplay time. - DesuOwnz

If you ask me.... Bethesda should buy the mods from people who made some in the pc and sell it to xbox 360 players.... That way, they wouldnt even need to make DLC's... you guys get my point...--BloodOmelet 03:05, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Modding is allowed on fallout3 but Microsofts got to be gay and not allow modding on the xbox>.> - DesuOwnz

So Ps3 "can" get mods? Gabriel Cortez 03:43, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
They "could" if Sony allowed it, and if Bethesda was willing to make the effort to somehow make them availible. Besides, community mods would have so many bugs, exploits, and conflicts that it seems unlikey. Additionally, Bethesda probably doesn't want those to be realeased as official DLC since people may take them as canon. --Bloodscar 17:03, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes... It's like Bethesda is turning player mods into official mods... get it?--BloodOmelet 03:58, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

I mean add-ons not DLC...-BloodOmelet

After so many in-game talks about Commonwealth and Doctor Li's departure I believe that after the final DLC \ Add-on Bethseda, few months later, will announce Expansion Pack that will take us here. Wish it come true... But... it could only be the small set-up to meet some already known characters in future Fallout 4. Master Mold 09:34, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

add-ons[]

if u have a add on like operation ancorage do u still die at they end if u do the main qeast line waters of life or whatever its called?

You mean if you have like O:A, then you finish the Main quests without even getting to do the add-on? No asstard, the only addon that does that is Broken Steel

Wait? What?!?!?![]

Where is the achievements? Why is there no one talking about achievements for Mothership Zeta???? Is it possible they aint releasing any for MZ cuz it might not be the final??? I doubt it....--BloodOmelet 01:09, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Explaination: Nobody has worried about the achievements because they've been too busy speculating this damn dlc. As stated two topics above, MZ is the LAST add-on for fallout 3 because of the announced release of the GOTY Edition. Gang probing space beans!!!~ ~ ~ ~--Master of cheeZ 03:04, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

well if you go to the website and click on info and look to the bottom right the picture of the vault boy sitting on the UFO could be an achievement picture. - DesuOwnz

Yep.. Just like Bogwalker achievement image... --BloodOmelet 03:25, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Whoooooo DA Hell?!?![]

"A strange Alien signal is being broadcast throughout the Capital Wasteland, originating from the crashed UFO, Paladine. Is it a distress call, or something far more sinister? That question is answered..."

I don't know why, but someone added that little paladine part as the name for the ship and last time i checked it was recon craft theta. i'm deleting that part.--Master of cheeZ 05:26, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Recon Craft Theta is the crashed ship. [Composite 4] (My Talk)

Wait, your edit is justified, never mind. [Composite 4] (My Talk)

It's fine... we just need an achievement list.--Master of cheeZ 05:31, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

OH! My friend says "What goes up, must come down" would be a good achievement name.--Master of cheeZ 05:34, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

interview[]

well if you scroll the page up alot it says interview with a link i find something intresting with it in the exact qoute 'Travis: Tell more about the aliens themselves. What are they like, what are they called, why are they "pissed"?

Jeff Gardiner: The aliens are the same type that people claim are currently abducting people around the globe'

so im guessing im meeting a dude in china somebody in france a brahmin in england and also in exact qoute again

Mothership Zeta also features new quest-related perks, alien robots, and a mysterious alien creature Gardiner hinted at, but refused to reveal. mysterious alien creature im guessing companion??

damn it theres not gonna be a new companion theres no new companion on the other 4 dlcs what makes you think they will make a companion on this one... -- Elvoblue

If we Judged what we've seen of Mothership Zeta as if it were Star Trek[]

What parts of the screen shots look like they're from Star Trek? This picture definitely reminds me of the engine room of the Enterprise from ST:TNG

Mother ship1

, but are there any other pictures people think fit in with Star Trek? How well do people think we can predict the meaning of these screen shots by comparing them to Star Trek? God knows that the people who run Bethesda are as geeky as the rest of us, so I don't think the people who run it would limit their Sci-Fi TV show references to just 'Babylon 5'; and given that, I'm betting we can figure out some of the things about this ship based off of how it matches up to TV shows like Star Trek. So, what do people think?

Spread it Around[]

I'd just like to point out that when the article for MZ is updated the canon information needs to be added to other pages for instance:

  • Armor
  • Weapons
  • etc.

Items seem to be the only thing that hasn't been updated on other pages as the quests, achievements, and perk have been shared with other pages. So if you have the time, please update one of the item pages. Thank you.--Master of cheeZ 12:36, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

why is there no trailer for mother ship zeta yet and this close to the release date

more than one ship![]

there is at least one more ship witch fires at you(mothership zeta) acording to the trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4enOSrf-MY8

Not necessarily. Like blowing up Megaton, the view disruption in the trailer may be caused by the cannon being fired while not even in the slightest aiming at you. --Radnus81.205.186.16 14:29, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

It may not even be a second ship, but a disjointed part of the first ship.

There are infact two ships in this game, although you will only ever be on one of them. The second is operated by an enemy at the end of the game. I just completed the campaign.

Cryo Mine[]

I don't think anyone has noticed this yet but:

In the MZ Trailer, at 0:56, you see a "Cryo" explosion.

Everyone already knows about the Cryo Grenade, but if you pause it just before the explosion, you see that it's a Mine going off.

I guess they put both, the grenades and mines, back into the game. – The Sixth Child 02:43, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

New Pistol[]

I'd noticed that the cowboy has a new pistol, or at least an un-scoped .44 Magnum. If anyone thinks we should add this to the page, go ahead. However considering the amount of time left until official add-on release I think it might be safe to wait until the release. Should we? I don't feel like I'm in the position to make that choice.--Master of Cheez

It wouldn't hurt. The cowboy's gun exists, we know that much. If we have a page on Balloons, we can have a page on a new gun. Nitty 01:10, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

I just played through the DLC and finished all the storyline. The cowboy has a unregular scoped .44 Magnum

its called paulsons 44.magnum--Higgins101 03:20, 4 August 2009 (UTC)higgins101

VATS Disintegrator Screeny (Enclave Uniform)[]

When looking at the screeny showing off a Disintegrator Rifle I couldnt help notice the brown, ribbed and black gloved suit. Only one suit comes to mind: Enclave Officer Uniform. As mentioned before, people from not only Earth's past but also from the Capitol Wasteland have been abducted. Could this suggest that Enclave folks are on board or did the LW in this picture took the uniform with him? --Radnus 81.205.186.16 14:50, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

I think the Wanderer found it. Beth likes to have the Wanderer in either the Armored Vault Suit, or crap he can find in the DLC. Nitty 14:52, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Well, when Point Lookout was coming out, everyone thought that they had used Lincoln's Repeater in the trailer, however it turned out to be a Lever-action rifle.--Master of cheeZ 15:24, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Yup. There has to be at least one dead MP on the ship, if only to poke fun at the Feds. Nitty 15:26, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Well there is also a power armor right? Possibly another special variant of power armor, like aliens tinkered with it... Maybe they gonna put special variants of the old clothings of Fallout 3...--BloodOmelet 17:28, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

I haven't seen a confirmation for any kind of power armor in MZ, just speculation. -- Porter21 (talk) 17:33, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
I mean in the trailer they showed a Power Armor.... Might be a special variant like Lucky Power armor or something like that, but then I might be mistaken..--BloodOmelet 03:43, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

I can confirm that the Enclave suit can be found on the ship on a dead prisoner. MachienzoPrimos 11:52, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Exploring the ship[]

Not sure myself but shouldn't someone add whether or not you can access the full ship after dlc completion

No full exploration after the main quest chain is completed. Confirmed (doors become [INACCESSABLE]). This, aside from a very disappointing DLC (Cryo weapons cut from game, not data, no serious weaponry, no power armor (although that wish is subject to debate) and pretty much all items having been reveiled before hand) and an annoying quest marker system (teleporter down but still shows up as "need to go here" on PipBoy) that throws you from one end to the other, next to a just as annoying quest description, makes me believe that MZ was eventually wrapped up too fast. Well, at least I got my alien weapons to use during BS. --Radnus 81.205.186.16 15:58, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

can anyone who has compleated mz, answer these 4 questions

1-is there a new follower? 2-once yer done with the mz dlc can you return to mz? 3-what happens to the other npc when they come back to the capitol wasteland? 4-does three dog mention anything after dlc mz?

To answer: 1-NO 2-Yes, a homing beacon will be placed where the Recon Craft used to be. It can be used to return 3-Not sure when you mean by this. No follower can follow you to MZ, not even after returning. 2 out of 4 escapees will be gone when you return 4-No --Radnus 81.205.186.16 16:41, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Not True! Ifyou get a Dronecontroller you can get 2 of them temporarly.

Those are not companions, just robots whose targetting has been switched to the aliens. - 62.194.203.52 06:17, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Aliens / Respawn[]

Do any of the Aliens, their robots or the Alien Containers aboard Mothership Zeta respawn? -- Sentinel 101 18:26, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

  • after you complete all the missions you can go back to the steamworks and there will be aliens and drones but am not sure if there r any guardian drones. Also the 3 aliens that you ask Sally to throw a granade at will also respawn and they will be non-hostile 83.233.2.207 11:00, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Sharbtur
  • some of the aliens respawn, so yes there should be on a few of there bodies.--Spartanac911 13:11, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
  • It's hard to tell if aliens respawn. You can't tell one from another, and what may look like respawning may just be more aliens transporting in from other parts of the ship you haven't/can't explore.75.12.145.3 15:43, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

Is this some kind of bug, or am I just stupid?[]

I may just be dumb but I am totally trapped. I just finished the spacewalk, activated the engine core teleporter and now nothing. I can't go backwards or forwards and the teleporter doesn't work. >.< Help?

  • Yes I had the same problem to, simply turn off and on again then do the spacewalk again, that worked for me. It was basically because the activate switch does not work as the teleporter is already activated so when I turned off and on the second time it was deactivated so I could ACTIVATE it this time.

I have loaded before the spacewalk 6 times. If I have to do that one more time my head will explode. And it didn't work.

  • Keep trying. This happened to me too. Just reload an auto-save and do the spacewalk again. I gave up the night I did it and the next morning it worked so try reseting the 360. When you press the button to activate the telepoter, the ones still alive that were following you and the little girl will come through.
  • I am having a similar issue on my PS3. I have made it all the way to the teleporter to the bridge, and it will not work. It just clicks.

I have tried reloading, I have tried saving on the teleporter, then reloading, and I have tried to go back to a previous save and found the teleporters there (living quarters and the one leading back to to the engineering core) have the same issue now!

I hope you realize there are THREE switches, one next to the teleporter, and two close to the edge (easy to spot from the teleporter). - Redmess (talk) 06:20, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Computer in Cargo Bay[]

There is an accessible terminal (Hard) in the Cargo Bay that has four text logs about a person trying to reveal the truth about Area 51 (speculation). Along with the texts, there is an option to unlock a safe (also mentioned in the last text) which is supposed to hold a "secret item" that the person stole from this "Area 51". The problem is, I can't seem to find the safe anywhere in the Cargo Hold! Has anyone ever encountered this problem, or even seen the computer yet? (I noticed no one else posted anything about this)

just go to the place were all the garbage is being dropped into the hole (in the cargo bay) amongst the pile of trash should be the safe

I don't even know how to get there (to the cargo bay I mean). Help?

  • The cargo bay is one of the doors off the Engineering Core.75.12.145.3 15:44, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

Save storage[]

I have put equiment in container in Engineer Core. Are those containers safe? Can You came back Engineering core after finished whole Mothership Zeta mission? What is best place store equipment?

I think the containers in the living area of the Engineering Core are all safe. I know from using it that the one footlocker near the stairs by the Airlock, right by a table and a window, is a safe storage area. This area is also convenient to get back to once the DLC is done with, and you want to collect your goodies for home storage or bartering. The RPGenius 22:34, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Alien Ammo?[]

Just wondering, after the quest DLC is completed is there any way to get more Alien Power Cells? Sorry if its been said but I havent purchased MZ yet. Thanks Guys.

No, the Alien power cells found in the ship(like 180-200 of them) are the only ones in the add-on, and if you missed em, you missed em.

out of curiosity where are they? i got them all on one play through and missed them on the next. Dr. Clayton Forrestor

  • [Edited:] The APCs are on shelves in the various rooms around the Engineering core (e.g.: Engine Room, Cargo Room, etc.) and in the Weapons rooms. If you stay in the crouched position, you may miss them because they are usually not on the bottom shelves. Last playthrough, I got over 350. First two playthroughs, I only got about 200 then 250, but I think that I only got those in the Weapons rooms those times, while this time I also got those in the Engineering rooms.

There are not only 180-200 Alien Power Cells. When I finished MZ I had at least 2,500 Alien Power Cells.

You mean Alien power modules? >_> //--TehK (tok) 23:43, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, Alien Power Cells and Alien Power Modules are not the same thing. Alien power cells are the glowing white test tube like things for the Alien Blaster that you take form the dead alien at the crash site (before you install the MZ DLC, don't think you can take it if you install MZ first). Any who.. Yeah, I found only about 200 alien power cells myself, but in the end, I left with about the same amount I entered with as I was relying on the Alien Blaster a lot. I find it odd that no where on the ship do you find another Alien Blaster and so few power cells. You telling me the dead alien that crashed on Earth was the ONLY one that had such an advanced weapon? And if that's the case, why is does the ship have power cells at all then if there is nothing there to use them with? --98.203.95.102 15:06, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

I must have missed something...[]

I'm not sure where I might have missed this (cause I'm positive I checked every nook and cranny of the ship), but I never once encountered the areas where the Gemini-Space Craft is or where the area full of junk 'dumping' that brahmin, both seen in the trailer. I also never encountered any Cryo Weapons of any sort. These must have been in the DLC, so where were they? I completely missed them! --MachienzoPrimos 15:43, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

They are there. Just explore more. Atleast some of these areas are very near the 3 generators you have to destroy early on. I must say, it was funny as hell watching & listening to the brahmin being dumped like that. >:) --98.203.95.102 14:54, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

I didn't see the other stuff that you are talking about, but to get the Cryo weapons you need to take Elliot with you when you go to destroy the Cryo lab generator. He will take back a sample of some cryo material and after you blow up the generator and return to the engine room, talk to him and he'll give you some cryo mines/grenades. ~Unholy

Doesn't matter. I managed to find out why. I just didn't explore it far enough. Still, nothing ever happened with Elliot so maybe it might be a bug? --123.243.145.243 07:29, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

you might have to help him temporarily revive his buds in the "freezerinos" (Alien reference) to get him to pick up the goo afterwards. havent played the cut 'em loose path yet. Dr. Clayton Forrestor

Using the Death Ray[]

Are there any consequences to firing the death ray at Earth? Weird that you lose karma for killing an alien worker (have they never seen Clerks?), but not for firing the death ray at earth. Duncanxxxx 21:37, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

I wondered that myself. I decided to save before doing that because they might be pissed at me if I blew up the Capital Wasteland. I just reloaded after seeing what would happen if I hit the fire button while aimed at Earth. Also, I wonder what happened to the giant piece of the second ship that fell to Earth (watch it after you destroy it).

Green Circular Scar on Earth?[]

Does anyone know what that is...could be? It doesn't seem like it came from the death ray because that was a whole different look to it when you test it out...--68.229.37.136 02:12, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Accipe Hoc

I thought it had something to do with the sun (It lines up with it) also the sun is extremely bright (close to super nova?) could be a burn from the sun maybe? Spellunker 02:43, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

How about not "close to supernova,"? It is only 267 years from now. The sun will die in (at least) 10 billion (million?...) years. Not 300 years. And our sun won't go supernova, it doesn't have the mass. Grow up, kid. 4sostrander 21:56, April 20, 2010 (UTC) That is probably The Glow --MeanOlBob 04:24, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

"Green stuff" as the mutans like to call it. Vault 77 Dweller 05:44, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

I'll attempt to explain this in few words. Big boom. Lots of bombs. Little reprieve. Nuclear pollution. Earth green. Earth polluted. 74.44.102.174 08:01, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
As far as explanations goes, I guess it works in the confines that the game is set with a 1950's theme and that's that kind of thing people then would have thought. But in the REAL real world, it doesn't work like that. A global nuclear war will not leave bright neon fluorescent glowing green ooze all over. Large concentrations of refined radioactive material (such as spent uranium fuel rods from nuclear reactors) only has a very slight glow, and it's blue, not green. Further, there will be no large concentrations as the material in the weapons is fissioned into fine particulates when detonated that mixes in with the water/air/soil which further dissipates it. But then, there is a whole lot in the game that is not real/possible. It is just a game after all, so I guess it's kinda pointless to raise/debate such issues. We would probably need a whole dedicated website to them if we did. :) --98.203.95.102 14:28, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

speeches[]

i think i have a sollution of understanding the big alien head

on the alien page they said that if you slowed the speech down and rewinded it

it would say a text

so all we got to do is somebody to record it

slow it down and then rewind it

it would say something

but if you think logical (like the puppies perk) you would know this will work)

did anyone else think that this DLC was utter bollox --217.33.11.13 11:18, 6 August 2009 (UTC)King Cog

In a nutshell, yeah I do. Between the GFX not being quite up to par with the rest of the game/DLC's, more bugs then The Orkin Man could kill in a lifetime, and an odd-ball story line that just don't quite jive with everything else (I mean, I don't have a problem with the aliens and stuff, but I've long thought/said there should have been an Enclave controlled "Area 51" facility somewhere to build a story around. But an alien mothership floating around Earth, that was just way over the top). I'm glad this was the last DLC, as I'd hate to have wasted any more money on something even more contrived and rushed then this was (if that could even be possible). --98.203.95.102 12:43, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

Aliens not dissapearing[]

Does anybody know if the alien corpses dissapear after an amount of time. I've waited about a week in the wastes and they are still there cluttering up my living space.

Deleting the DLC[]

Ok, so because i missed a crap load of stuff on my first playthrough thanks to the ship's limited accessibility afterwards I'm thinking on deleting the DLC to start again cos im not into starting an entire new game just for that. So does anyone know if doing that will have any side effects (aside from losing everything from it) or should it be alright?

just go back to an earlier save instead of deleting it Five Star Genral Of The Dead BigDog 13:30, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Level suggested[]

I'm level 11 now but not sure I'm underlevele for all DLC.OutcastNeedhelp 02:17, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

you should be able to complete MZ as the enemies are leveled other dlcs are leveled for sure. let me know if the captives in cryostasis at the end of cryo lab are all super mutant overlords. Dr. Clayton Forrestor

Don't worry about your level, the enemies are scaled to your level and play difficulty. Some enemies will only show up if you are a high enough level, like the aliens with the special shielding device. --RobertCoombs 02:50, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Yeah don't worry about I started MZ at lvl 5 on very hard and had no problem completing MZ.Vault Grim 21:22, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Vault Grim.

This DLC is too hard at my current level.I'm still level 11OutcastNeedhelp 21:42, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

I don't think this DLC is any harder then the game itself or any other DLC per say, but it is uniquely different and requires a different approach. I guess the best two tips I can give is: Bring a handfull of meds with you for early on and don't bother with conventional weapons. You'll pick up more effective alien weapons right from the getgo, and once you get into it a little ways, it just starts throwing meds, weapons, ammo and health restoration chambers at you every turn. Honestly, I'd say, once you figure out the needed strategy, this is probably the easiest DLC out of the 5. It also will give you the biggest payout in the end. It's a good XP builder, good source of high power weapons and you'll make more caps then you ever need selling everything you find on the ship. To that end, I concure with others here, play this DLC LAST, or it will make the rest of the game to easy. --98.203.95.102 14:09, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

The first time through, I was at level 25+. Just for fun, I restarted F3 and made this DLC my first trip from Megaton. All I had was a 10mm pistol with about 6 rounds left, and the Vault 101 armor. Because of the scaling to my level, I thought this trip was actually easier than the first. Once you pick up a Disintegrator, you are using the same weapons as you did on the higher level and the enemies are much easier than your Skills are lower. Be sure to use epoxy to keep your weapon at full Damage. Plus, at 55 XPs every time you whack an alien, you level up quickly. I put most of my points into Energy Weapons. I went in at level 3-4 and came out right at level 8. The only drawback is that you don't have the Science skill to modify the healing machines for full healing nor to get into a couple of locked rooms. Get as many Stims as you can before going in at lower levels. You'll also be able to pick up a lot of alien food to eat to top off your health. One other problem is that the rest of F3 will probably be dull if you do this DLC first because you will have so many caps (in the form of alien crytals, atomizers, etc.) that picking up loot will be irrelevant, and such powerful weapons, plus all that epoxy for repairing them to 100% for free, that other missions may not be much challenge.

OutcastNeedhelp in settings lower difficulty until you can get to engine core. then somah can repair your stuff for you for better damage and pick up Alien epoxy for same reason. i can tell you though this is much more fun @ 20+ after other dlcs. Dr. Clayton Forrestor

Side Quest[]

i vote (as if this were a democracy vice a hive mind) there be an unmarked quest for the overcoat and the sword in maintenance level(i haven't figured out the reward other than a locker load of medical and kago stays aboard. call it toshi's sword or a ken for kago (ken being Nipponese for sword). my 2 caps worth. Dr. Clayton Forrestor

Let me just say that I'm am very impressed with all the effort put into this dlc from story to gameplay all was done well however I deeply felt that there was something missing such as the npcs word was that there was varied cast from the past and wasteland as we know Somah is the entire wasteland cast excluding the pc of course the one liner rivet city security guard and the clawed wastelander and frozen in game enemies, while the past cast although very interesting could've been so much more the cowboy sheriff was awesome along with the samurai, Elliot however was kind of a bore he had great character but after anchorage I was hoping for some other past character and why did the astronaut have to die surely a spare suit could've have been found on the ship we could have another character to talk to and more exploration gameplay though the most upsetting fallbacks were the cryo grenades to which you woud have to spend hours of waiting and gaining because apparently somewhere along development it would be a good idea for elliot to lose the ability to make grenades when the quest was done, also why did the ship have to go in lockdown mode did it have to, though one could ask why can't advance alien glue work on anything but weapons all of this and other very annoying bugs make me wonder just how truly great this dlc could've been my anwser is this it couldv'e been so great that even if this dlc was only out for the goty of another console I would've bought it even after purchasing all 4 dlcs for a different console but a man can dream can't he a man can dream.

Overcoat Bug[]

So does anyone know if Bethesda is going to release a patch or whatnot to fix the 'General Chase's Overcoat Issue?' I was really looking forward to this and got excited after I saw the DR: 20 but of course found that it was Winterized Medic Armor..

My guess is that because they were making such a big deal about it being the last DLC, that maybe they won't even pay attention to the bugs and glitches that are dominating Mothership Zeta.AgentSergei 16:00, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

I wouldn't count on it if I were you. Bethesda is not exactly known for thoroughly patching its games, and there wasn't a single patch for any of the problems introduced by the various DLCs. -- Porter21 (talk) 16:13, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

To add on did anyone else notice the new "grimmy pre war" business suit in the cryo lab? It's an all black recolor 24.237.75.227 17:51, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

DLC's are available on amazon as well. no media just a download authorization. Dr. Clayton Forrestor

You missed the police hat in the armor section of the page. If you haven't found it, it's in the cryo lab.

Just throwing it out there...[]

WOOOOOW not even mothership zeta has Power Armor... I just want to run around in glowing rave-like Power Armor and Beth won't even gimme that... So many bugs as well... They can suck me as far as I'm concerned STAProductions 16:18, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

waaaaaa I'm a whiney queef. If Bethesda doesn't patch this DLC, that's it. I'll boycott everything associated with them. Hopefully with bad economy in North America, they'll all go bankrupt.:evil grin: Fu**ers should be homeless for their stupidity.

LOL ya maybe. Fallout 3 was way too awesome, but now I feel like they're rushing things so all the stupid people like me will rush out and hand them 10 bucks each.

And sign your posts please (Sorry i have to :P)STAProductions 19:36, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh come on, guys, that's going pretty far. Look, I was as disappointed by Mothership Zeta as anyone--maybe more than most, since I value creativity and good writing very highly, and MZ was the only add-on to be drastically lacking in such things. But be fair. Bethesda's provided us with 4 other add-ons that ranged from good to pretty great before this, that had tons of different and new items mixed in. And they gave us Fallout 3 to begin with--a very fun and cool game that finally brought the excellent series back to life, in a good way. Some annoyance over MZ's natural, but they don't deserve curses and wishes of bankruptcy and homelessness after making stuff that you mostly enjoy. The RPGenius 04:16, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Lets look at the facts, shall we. The main game was buggy has heck, most of which have still not been fixed. Every DLC released not only had it's own slew of bugs, but introduced even more bugs into both the main game and other DLC's, most of these have not been fixed either. We're talking about more then one quest being impossible to ever complete 100% (unless you want to uninstall various DLC's first), not to mention other issues bordering on game breaking. Like the Tenpenny tower lockup bug MZ introduces. God forbid if you had made Tenpenny Tower your homebase early on. I can appreciate how difficult it is to make such a huge game without some issues, and largely (before any DLC gameout), they did an acceptable job. But as time went on, instead of FIXING things, they kept on breaking the game more and more. It's sad, pathetic and unacceptable because some of these bugs and glitches are major in-your-face quest breaking/game breaking problems that are unmissable. Yet they were still released in that mad dash for the cash, and STILL remain unfixed. All that said, I've already decided to boycott Bethesda, tho not because of these issues, but rather their new shady underhanded crapola in suing Interplay because they fail to understand what their contract gives them rights to. Bethesda is trying (and even admitted in the past that they were going to try and do) to steal the entire Fallout franchise from Interplay. And THAT, my friends, was the final straw. This is obviously not a company that cares about us, the gamers. They are the George Lucas of videogames, and are interested in nothing more then milking a popular franchise for all it's worth at our expense. Because of that, Bethesda will NEVER get so much as even one penny from me ever again. --98.203.95.102 13:24, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

I'm with The RPGenious here. Yes, MZ sucked at telling a story, had a crappy story to begin with, had crap gameplay (since you were basically God), and everything it gave you made the rest of the game way too easy. MZ was a good idea followed shortly by a series of really terrible ones and that is a fact. I even think Operation Ancorage was crap for basically the same reasons (Tranquility Lane? Sure, cool. But there should only be one). But they also made Point Lookout and The Pitt (haven't played Broken Steel) and both of those were freaking awesome, creative, and really added something the game otherwise lacked, tone-wise. MZ and (to me, anyway) OA are unarguably crap, but I don't see Bethesda as Lucas, just as rushed humans.--Thulu 03:59, October 28, 2009 (UTC)

Ideas?[]

I'm not excusing the supergun with 100 rounds and a 1 second reload, but they have a logical reason. You know, the aliens are more advanced and so they have personal superweapons, nothing wrong with that in concept. My thought was that maybe it was impossible to do this well in terms of gameplay. Think about it, is there any way to give the player guns like those as well as what amounts to infinity bullets forever without devistating the rest of the game?--Thulu 04:12, October 28, 2009 (UTC)

Old stuff[]

I finished this add-on but didn't find the place with my old stuff. And I suppose that there is no such place. Is I'm mistaking?

  • It's in a room to your left just before you enter the Steamworks (second Area)... Sorry pal, if you want your stuff, you have to reload an old save. STAProductions 17:15, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
  • I made the same mistake. (Makes the DLC a lot more challenging, eh?) You do NOT have to reload to get your stuff back. If you go back to MZ, you can take the transporter down to the Engineering Core and from there, walk back to the Holding Cells. When you were leaving the cells, there was a windowed room to one side with an alien in it. Go in there, bop him in the head, and your stuff is in the usual containers (3 of them).75.12.145.3 15:57, September 5, 2009 (UTC)
  • I don't think you can go back to the holding cells can you? If I recall you can only return to Engineering Core and Steamworks unless you use the Sally glitch.

Yes it is true. I confirm that you can go back to the Holding Cells and their you will find the old stuff. On your way back you will encounter also some aliens.

where can i get this add-on?[]

can mothership zeta be bought in stores such as gamestop or is it only downloaded through computer with microsoft points.

You can buy it in stores, but what you buy is a pre-paid code used to download it. and sign your posts --Pratstercs 23:05, November 7, 2009 (UTC)

HOW to GET THE ALIEN BLASTER and CELLS without getting transported. XBOX360[]

Standing on top of the crater looking down at the tempting Blaster and ammo cells is the lure. Walk down to pick them up and hey presto, the poor old wanderer is swept into the air into another hell hole.. To avoid this enforced transportation, take Dogmeat, stand just outside the RAD 1 field and send him in to collect all the ammo and the alien blaster. After which you can go to that crash site at a time of your choice and get transported.--195.93.21.101 08:36, November 23, 2009 (UTC)1000hrs Fallout 3.

Should this be made canon?[]

I personally think it should be sort of canon. Recon Craft Theta crashed and the aliens quickly beam it back up into the hanger. This is long after the LW had got the blaster from the site. But he/she never got to the alien mothership. So in F04 or New Vegas, the mothership is still up there but still in alien control. Sec 19 19:49, December 2, 2009 (UTC) Sec 19

Safe storage in This Galaxy Ain't Big Enough[]

Okay I got abducted and i've done the quests but where's my stuff! I had some pretty neat stuff! Some irreplacable (sorry) Where is it! User:AZButcher 19:44, November 22, 2010 (UTC)

Hi! Your stuff should be in a container waiting for you to open it. It would be the Alien's version of the "Evidence" chest in "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion", except it isn't labeled any differently. It should be very near where your keepers were, before they entered the cell to break up the faux fight. It isn't in the same corridor that you begin in though. You'll probably meet Sally just prior to finding the chest with your stuff. I hope that helps! Leo Star Dragon 1. 70.129.174.55 23:31, March 18, 2011 (UTC)

The Most Aggravating DLC[]

Solely for the fact that if you miss something, you most likely have to restart your entire character just to go back and get it, and then end up missing something else. I, personally, have gone through the add-on three times (even with a list of the unique weapons and their locations, crossing them off as I go) and STILL missed something worthwhile! You can honestly say that all that time that your companions will spend sitting up in the bridge, they won't figure out a way to turn the teleporters to the other parts of the ship back on?
