What?[]

What, is this a talking sink? Some kind of robot or something? --Kris User Hola 15:19, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I think so, the one preview I saw had a talking light switch, and I heard there is a toaster that talks too... I think the whole area is so highly advanced that everything is robotic... --Xa3MysteriousStranger 15:22, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

I think the place is "The Sink" like a sinkhole or something, not an actual sink.

Separate pages[]

Can someone please separate the Sink location and the Sink AI/robot character pages again? The differences between the two are so vast that there was no point in merging them into the same page link. 12.213.80.54 06:22, July 6, 2011 (UTC)

A talking sink?[]

And i thought i've seen it all!

The picture[]

Should it be of an actual sink? And if not how has it been on the page for so long without being removed?--BattlecattleBeware4sig 17:17, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

Not the Home Base "The Sink"[]

No, people. The faucet is not the home base you get to upgrade or to live in. What, you think you can upgrade it with towel dispensers or something?

What, I can't even have towel dispensers? Worst sink home EVER. --Kris User Hola 21:02, July 12, 2011 (UTC)

Could someone unlock this page for editing?[]

This article is far from up-to-date, could admins please, pretty please, unlock it at least for checked users, this page makes me cry as of now. Ae jarv 08:59, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

Agreed, this page is in serious need of editing, and because all the Admins aren't taking a jab at editing this, they need to unlock it so everyone else could. --Living Lifeless 9 18:26, July 20, 2011 (UTC)
It was locked for a reason. That reason has expired before the lock did (it was set to expire on the 24th, wiki time), so I went ahead and removed it manually. Go nuts! --Kris User Hola 20:36, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

save to store stuff[]

can you store stuff and weapons in the sink lockers etc.savely ? or does it disaeper after a while ?

thank you for answerring my qeustion. --94.214.114.168 09:20, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

Umm...[]

I think the page states incorrect informationeses... The Sink becomes the players home immediatly after meeting with Dr. Klein and the others. Not at the end of the DLC.38.109.25.246 20:46, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

It does, however it can't be used as housing to explore the wasteland until after the DLC is complete. --EluveitieRagnarok (talk) 10:01, December 14, 2012 (UTC)

Bugs[]

Xbox360: I finished the DLC and now want to make the SINK my home base. I noticed when I drop some items on the floor to move them onto a shelf for display, they go invisible (not disappear-as in I can still pick them up since the item is still there). At first I thought it was just for specific items-I first noticed it happening with cuddles' toy car. Then I dropped two inversal axes on the ground, one with half health and one with full health. The half health one, which is the first one I dropped, went invisible and the full health one didn't. I then started dropping things like centaur blood, nightstalker blood, embalming fluid. They didn't go invisible until i decided to move them somewhere else. Once I set them down on a shelf, they too went invisible. Anyone else having issues with this?99.29.164.65 02:27, July 21, 2011 (UTC)

This happens to me too, i haven't get to fix it, though i can still pick up the items, quite annoying >.< 18:39, July 21, 2011 (UTC)Enrikiller

Sink (The talking one)[]

Needs a page of its own... as Sink Project: Sink sends you over to this page (The Sink) instead of the cleanliness obsessed robot sink... --Living Lifeless 9 17:49, July 21, 2011 (UTC)

Sink Doctor Bug[]

I already completed the DLC (using 360) and i have given all the extras, implants and tapes to the Sink. When i try to get an implant or something by talking to the auto-doc it only gives me option for healing, I can't get implants nor get a haircut or change my face. I also tried to leave Big MT and still same, i tried to leave the room, disable the personality and tried the same speak option a lot of times.

And NO I DON'T HAVE ANY PREVIOUS SAVEDGAME, because i already had 100 savegames and i overwrote the current one.

Anyone else having this issue? Please respond 18:43, July 21, 2011 (UTC)~~Enrikiller

The Balcony[]

Does anyone else find that the game suffers severe lag when on the Sink's balcony, specifically on the PS3? Just want to know if it's a widespread thing.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas both seem to slow down (loading times are very noticeable) after continuous, non-stop playing for a few hours for me on PS3 but simply quitting the game and going back would reinstate the speed. The balcony however keeps lagging. I just hope it gets addressed in a patch or something if it's widespread, New Vegas was devoid of this issue as far as I'm aware in the main game and DLC up until now and it's what made 3's DLC torturous; Who Dares Wins having to be rushed like mad with Adams Air Force Base transforming into Lag City within 5 minutes of entering. Still having a blast with OWB though. Nimbus Recanto 01:34, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

It has to do with the amount of assets that have to be rendered. IN the Mohave, there is not as many buildings/structures. This is similer to the bride of Mothership Zeta.Vault 815 05:01, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

The amazing ever falling tree[]

So I gave my seed to the research station and one of the plants keeps falling over and over but i can still pick it and it makes one hell of novelty but can get quite annoying. Fryingpan57 06:01, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

I'm getting the falling nettle plant glitch, the nettle still respawns though PS3 ver 1.06 98.232.128.73 21:02, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Im getting the same glitch on PS3.

SINK not resupplying?[]

Ive slept for atleast 4 or 5 days straight and the sink still wont resupply. I need more stimpacks and ammo (thanks to those damn nightstalkers). Any help? im on xbox It doesnt re supply sorry. Fryingpan57 20:11, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

I am also having this issue on PS3. --CharlesSurge 16:00, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

OK, I found a solution. First, I personally don't know if The Sink CIU/other Merchants have a regular restocking day. I used the wait command OUTSIDE OF THE SINK (just outside of the Think Tank/Big MT dome) for 5 days in a row and restocking happened the three times I tested it. It also worked with waiting 4 days in a row outside. It did NOT work with waiting 3 days outside, checking if the Sink CIU restocked, and then waiting 2 more days outside. Also, restocking did not happen when waiting/sleeping 5 days in The Sink. It is seemingly key that one must wait outside of The Sink (perhaps outside of the whole dome?). I don't know if F:NV usually allows things to respawn/restock if you wait in their general area, thus I will also note that the dead robo-scorpions outside the Big MT dome did not respawn over the days of waiting outside, but after I used the wait command for just a 2-3 days in The Sink, they had respawned to life after leaving the dome. If this Sink CIU/robo-scorpions "not respawning/restocking when nearby" issue does not happen in regular F:NV, perhaps this is OWB-specific. --CharlesSurge 23:03, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

Not exchanging caps.[]

For some reason the Sink will no longer exchange anything for caps, weapons, pre war money, cigarettes, I can repair items but damn near everything is broken and I have 2,000 caps, and 100k worth of stuff to sale but it will not exchange me caps for items. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm on PS3.

This happened to me as well. Can't figure out a solution

Confirm Body of Follower of The Apoc[]

The player can find a dead Followers doctor at the base of the tower, wearing a Followers lab coat and carrying some stimpaks. Apparently, he took a head-first leap off the Sink's balcony. --

Can anyone confirm this...as I did the rounds and didn't find any body. Metro Tunnel Rat 18:41, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Nope, no body. I really don't know what this person saw, the only thing it could have been was a Lobotomite, but even then it would be hard to mix up a FotA with a Lobotomite... --Wiseman of the Wastes 00:02, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

You have to use the tcl command to find the body. It's at the very base of the northern side of the tower, not viewable by any normal means so far as I am aware. Screens: http://imageshack.us/f/820/owbfollower1small.jpg/ | http://imageshack.us/f/714/owbfollower2small.jpg/

Thanks for confirming the Followers doctor. Metro Tunnel Rat 10:44, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

What forcefield[]

So theres suppose to be a force field on the balcony. Fryingpan57 04:01, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

When you upgrade the Sonic Emitter you can disable the force field (as I did) It doesn't come back, but the force field is also useless, so nothing wrong goes off. Enrikiller

  • Yeah, you still can't jump off or anything, as far as I can tell. (SPAMLibArmy 06:04, July 29, 2011 (UTC))

Poster in Bedroom[]

In the bedroom of the Sink, there is a poster above the bed. It shows what looks like ED-E and two other characters standing side by side. If you look closely at the bottom of the poster, you can see this eyebot travelling towards New Vegas (you can just make out the shape of the Lucky 38 in the blue light). Does anyone know what this is about? --Wiseman of the Wastes 10:17, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

  • It looked to me like some kind of pre-war feel good kinda movie, something between War Games and Homeward Bound, about a boy and his robot. It may be in reference to something, but I get the feeling that it's just there to be kitschy. (SPAMLibArmy 06:03, July 29, 2011 (UTC))

The "Invisible Items" on display bug.[]

"If you place an item on any of the tables near the bedroom, they will become invisible until moved again."

And here's how to fix this: Any items you wish to put on display in The Sink need to be dropped from your inventory in the same room that you intend to display them in.

For example, if you want to set a baseball glove on a shelf in the bedroom, the glove needs to be dropped from your inventory onto the bedroom floor. If you drop it in the living room or any other room in The Sink, and then drag it to the bedroom, it will turn invisible when you attempt to display it. The same applies to all other rooms. If you want to set something up on the kitchen shelf for display, that object needs to be dropped while you're in the kitchen area. I'm not sure why this is. Dropping an item on a floor seems to "assign" it to that room you happen to be in, at which point it should display properly without going invisible on you.--174.0.106.101 18:10, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

I'll check as soon as possible and tell if it works (using xbox 360) 13:03, July 27, 2011 (UTC)~Enrikiller

Best player housing EVER[]

Seriously, this is all i wanted. The Novac room was too dim, dirty and small. The Presidential Suite was target of my thirsty and hungry companions and didn't have a camp fire, work bench. This one has EVERYTHING. An ammunition box (always wanted one), a first aid box (this too), multiple chests, a safe a fridge, nuka cola and ss vending machine. Now the downside... It's in the big empty. I wish i had such a player housing back in the mojave....

Well at least you can teleport there. -The Polar Bear lives 21:55, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Precisely. It's in fact quicker to get to than the Lucky 38 suite from most locations. The device you get at the end basically fast-travels you to your front door, then you just go inside. The only real consequences of it being in Big MT is that you can't bring your companions with you, and you can't pick up Radio New Vegas and Mojave Music Radio on your Pip-Boy. --174.0.106.101 03:36, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

As soon as I read that your companions eat your stuff in the Lucky 38 Suite, I knew I would never leave my home in Harper's Shack. It's kind of dumpy (okay, it's really dumpy), but it's got lots of containers, which I need because I am a serious collector, and I'm also big on sorting all my crap just so. I thought the Lucky 38 suite would be perfect with all the upgrades (read: extra containers), but not if those bastards are stealing my unique edibles (Imitation Strange Meat Pie anyone?) and it takes a fast travel plus TWO doors to get home. The Sink, however, seems to be perfect. It's got tons of containers, all my crafting needs, an awesome Auto-Doc so I don't have to run out to fix rads and addictions, a 100% repairman, the list goes on. So good-bye dumpy shack previously owned by some dude named Harper, and hello The Sink! I just wish it was this easy to move in real life. Other than being limited to walking speed, there is absolutely no indication my Courier is currently carrying 37,431 Wg. No, that is not a typo. Thirty seven thousand four hundred thirty one weight. Yeah. You name it, I got it (less Old World Blues stuff, and Wild Wasteland stuff, but I do have the Suave Gambler Hat). --The.true.samiam 19:15, September 16, 2011 (UTC)

Links to NPCs? Sink disambiguation?[]

I've noticed this article has headers for each of the personalities, but not links to their individual pages. I also saw that the disambiguation at the top talked about the Sink item, but not the Sink personality. Should these be linked? I wanted to ask before making the edit. (SPAMLibArmy 06:11, July 29, 2011 (UTC))

Invisible gnomes!!![]

So, for some reason I decided to grab the giant damaged garden gnome from Whittaker Farmstead and bring it back to keep the Biological Research Station company. I've discovered this weird thing, where whenever I pick up the gnome and carry it into any room besides the main one with the CIU, when I drop the gnome, it becomes invisible. It's still there, and when I pick it up again it becomes visible while I'm holding it. But for now, my garden is watched over by an invisible, gigantic gnome. Rather horrifying. (SPAMLibArmy 06:08, August 1, 2011 (UTC))

The whole disappearing glitch can be fixed by adding the item to your inventory again, then dropped again. However, this will reset the size of the garden gnome to the generic size, so I don't know what to tell you. --With care and happiness, Supermutantslayer450' You will know the truth... And the truth will set you free.. 06:12, August 1, 2011 (UTC)

  • Ah, thanks. I think I'll just have to live with the conundrum. Although now I feel like an idiot for not looking at the rest of the talk topics. (SPAMLibArmy 09:49, August 1, 2011 (UTC))

Music[]

The page says that the Lost Hills music plays in the Sink, but I'm getting the Shady Sands music. So... what's up with that?

Ok, so now it's playing the Lost Hills music. Alright then... also, forgot to sign my previous post. ComradeJim270 08:34, August 6, 2011 (UTC)

Follower in Sink![]

PS3 ...My NCR Ranger 'follower' followed me into sink then big MT where she proceeded to to battle with lobotomites... I completed OLD World Blues, then started Lonesome road having fast travelled to start of Lonesome Road with NCR ranger...I left b4 completing DLC...NCR Ranger waiting at entrance...I then 'teleported' to sink, and ranger spawned with me inside sink!!!..she also followed into Big MT, initialy spawning with lobotomite goggles in lieu of the authority shades...--TuskNB 00:54, December 17, 2011 (UTC)

sniping from balcony[]

sniping on the balcony is easy because of the complementary vouchers from dead money. they are not effected by gravity So you can place them, jump on the floating holodisk, and then snipe. so far i got 15 kills just with a anti mat rifle and normal rounds. this is on xbox360 current patch with all dlcs added gamertag josh 234 ````

You need to learn better grammar. Draven Mephilés of Faerûn (talk) 18:19, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

The Replicated Item[]

I dropped a deathclaw hand on the floor in the bedroom because I wanted to display it on a shelf. The issue is when I move it or pick it up so it goes back in my inventory it leaves a copy of itself behind. Now my floor is covered in deathclaw hands with no way to get rid of them. Even reloading the save from before I initially dropped the item, and shutting the console off/back on will not work as when I load the game there's the hands all over the place. I'm on 360 so there's no console commands I can use, just beware what you throw on the floor you may not be able to pick up again.

Moving Brain[]

Would someone PLEASE tell me how to fix this bug? Draven Mephilés of Faerûn (talk) 18:10, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

Resetting containers in The Sink[]

To all who say that the sink is safe to store items. At least three of the sink's containers reset on me. The locker in the bedroom(Empty, had apparel), Box next to workshop table(All of my "misc" stuff, now only few superglue) and the safe in the bedroom(Food, now empty). Luckily I have savefile quite close(losing about 1hr of gameplay).

The factor that seems to reset the containers is killing the Giant Robo-scorpion in X-42.

Luckily the footlocker at the base of the bed never resets, so I never lost anything.

Fast Travel = Suicide?[]

So, Fast traveling from the Sink Balcony to the Magnetohydraulics Facility causes you to reappear on the balcony standing on top of a hammer, two wonderglues, two scrap electronics, and twenty frag mines... ... ...dying and letting the game load the autosave causes a "strange barrel" to spawn with a couple bottles of battle brew inside. I've tried it with 2 different characters (one with no mods installed). Have yet to reach the area for a test without wild wasteland. Can anyone confirm this? Don't know if/how it could be tied to wild wasteland or if it's just a weird code hiccup.

No Bathroom[]

May be worth adding to the 'Notes': Despite being luxurious otherwise, this is one of the few player housings that completely lack bathroom of any kind. Shorr (talk) 23:49, August 24, 2015 (UTC)
