Travis Stout started his career at the age of 19 or 20, initially going to school to become an animator. Having little success in animation, he decided to try himself as a writer for a pen-and-paper RPG. This eventually led him to White Wolf.

In 2005 Stout joined . He was involved in the development of many of the company's most renowned titles: Neverwinter Nights 2, Alpha Protocol, Dungeon Siege III, , and the upcoming South Park: The Stick of Truth.

According to , Stout was responsible for writing dialogue for , , , some , , , some folks, and 'a bunch of stuff' on .

He also worked on the dialogue and quest design for the , and the dialogue for in the .

In 2011 Travis left Obsidian and joined Undead Labs.
