yep it's a song

Gee, I wounder what this could be a reference to? A song of sort sprt maybe?JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 12:52, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

beats me. --Kris User Hola 13:38, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

nothing but a hound dog is a famous and well known elvis song and rex is a pet of an elvis impersonator Namad 15:01, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

And "Rex" is latin for "the king", too. Some bonus humor. --TastyPasta16 14:13, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, Namad, you need to get your sarcasm detector checked. Normally sarcasm is hard to convey in text, but I think Jasper pulled it off quite well, there. And then there's my link labeled "beats me" and links to the Elvis song. --Kris User Hola 11:37, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

"Rex" is latin and "Rey" spanish -Anon

Which brain

which brain is the best to give rex? he's non-essential so I was thinking the fiend brain... but he's also prolly pretty worthless without the attack brain? thoughts anyone? Namad 15:02, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

  • Just to clarify, you do have to pick only ONE of the brains right? there's no way to combine these abilities is there?74.130.206.3 20:05, October 22, 2010 (UTC)
    • Correct. Rex tri-brain shall never be. also, it seems to be glitcched in that the other brains stay in your inventory as quest items. --DragonJTSLeave me a message 20:23, October 23, 2010 (UTC)
  • I'm inclined to think Lupa's brain will be the best. But I tried Lupa's brain, and well, I got a bug (I'm adding it to the page) where Rex's HP is shown as 100/0. Yes, apparently zero HP and relying only on the increased DT to protect him. I can't even give him stims. Reloading doesn't work either. Really, which one is the best? Rey's or Violetta's? :Starshade 08:02, October 26, 2010 (UTC)
  • Violetta's is probably the best, helps with the bad npc pathing, helps him get in and out of combat faster. 174.66.129.52 05:43, October 27, 2010 (UTC)
  • there is human flesh laying all over the ground in dog bowls where you kill violetta.... yeah.

Base I.D.

Does anyone know the base I.D.? ~Stewie1897

Thanks! ~~ Stewie1897

Violetta's Brain

I don't think movement speed is as good as damage, when he is already as fast as he is. Aside from that point, though, does Violetta's brain even really provide increased movement? Dr. Henry says it has a lot of the chemical components of turbo in it, and that he'll be "faster." Doesn't that imply increased action points? 71.228.83.242 03:09, November 9, 2010 (UTC)

For Auld Lang Syne

Does anyone know if this quest is possible if you complete For Auld Lang Syne first? I'm guessing its not once Doctor Henry goes to the Remnants' Bunker.

It is, you can go to Calamity instead. However, if you have Calamity fit the brain instead of Henry, it CAN forget to set a variable, thus screwing up Rex's ending in a particularly upsetting way. To avoid that, I strongly recommend reading the section I added to the article. Once you've turned the brain you want to use into Calamity, set the nTransplantReceived variable to suit whatever brain you handed in. Better safe than sorry, yes? (77.107.172.208 09:18, November 12, 2010 (UTC))

Thank you for the info.

P.S. I just completed Nothin But a Hound Dog and a funny thing happened. When I arrived at Jacobstown and went inside to talk to Calamity, Doctor Henry was there too, and the quest marker was placed on him. At the front gate though, I talked to Marcus and selected I'm looking for Dr. Henry. I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I guess the Quest respawned Doctor Henry. If anyone else has experienced this, consirder adding it to the bugs section. --71.62.128.139 20:53, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • My courier just went to Jabobstown with Rex after completing For Auld Lang Syne. Dr. Henry was there. I guess the remnants only stay in the bunker to plan the attack, then go home untill called upon for the finale? --DanTheHitman 03:04, December 4, 2010 (UTC)

Can anyone verify if the other remnants return to their homes? I am unable to do this due to my game crashing every five minutes. Its basically broken.--71.62.128.139 03:20, December 13, 2010 (UTC)

  • I think the others stay in the bunker. Have been looking around since my latest edit, and haven't found anyone except Dr. Henry. They all turned up at the last moment though :)--DanTheHitman 10:42, December 13, 2010 (UTC)

I guess its just a scripting glitch that respawns Dr. Henry to furfil the quest. So are you saying that Dr. Henry still turned up at Hoover Dam?--71.62.128.139 04:17, December 16, 2010 (UTC)

Another brain

Someone told me they gave Rex a brain that increases his DT, but none of the listed ones see to have that effect.--24.147.62.26 03:08, November 16, 2010 (UTC)

Sounds like a mod, maybe this one Rex Blood of the Legion Lupa Brain Rework.--84.138.97.229 09:44, November 26, 2010 (UTC)
That is Lupe's Brain, which gives +10 DT. It is in the vanilla game. --One eyebrow priest (talk) 14:01, September 9, 2012 (UTC)

Bullshit?

I'm not sure, but I never got any god damn fucking armor to fight lupa and now I can't get her brain, and ontrip of that, my melee sucks ass but why did I not get armor?

A glitch? Actually, I don't think I got armor when I fought her either, weird that you mentioned that. It's most likely a glitch. --TheConvictsSUCK 01:27, March 17, 2011 (UTC)

If I recall correctly, rules say that armor is not allowed in the Legion arena so the only part that would be a glitch would be the not getting the brain part.174.5.36.227 17:34, March 26, 2011 (UTC)

Normal Legion arena fights allow light armor, but if you speak to Antony, he tells you in dialogue that, during the fights against his dogs, you will be wearing no armor. 75.87.251.169 17:57, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Initiating the arena match against Lupa

I can't seem to find any dialogue option while speaking with Antony to initiate the arena match against Lupa. Do I need to do the standard arena matches first? I ended up having to stealth kill her with a silenced .22 75.87.251.169 18:02, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Rex's Brain Upgrades Actual Effects

According to the game data in GECK, the different upgrades provide the following effects. First of all, there is no perk called Faithful Protector. The actual effect in the game data is

RexRef.ModActorValue MeleeDamage 5 RexRef.ModActorValue UnarmedDamage 5

The problem is that according to Bethesda and the GECK website, the values MeleeDamage and UnarmedDamage don't do anything for creatures. Even if it did something, it is not a +25 damage. Rex's base damage is 25, his crit damage is 75. Nothing in the game data suggests that there is a +25 damage boost from this quest option.

The second "perk" from Violetta's brain is also not actually a perk in the game. No perk called "Unshakeable Tracker" exists in the data. Instead the game applies

set RexSpeed to RexRef.GetAV SpeedMult set RexSpeed to (RexSpeed*1.5) RexRef.SetAV SpeedMult RexSpeed

The net effect is a 50% speed increase however.

Only the last option "Blood of the Legion" exists as an actual perk in the game. It gives Rex + 10 DT for a total of 20 DT.

I think this information would be useful and should be added, but I am wary of doing so after several deletions without comment by admins.--One eyebrow priest (talk) 13:58, September 9, 2012 (UTC)
