ED-E weight glitch

Hey Paladin. This is the guy that posted the edit on ED-E's wiki page about the phantom weight bug. I originally posted my findings on the Fallout New Vegas gameplay help forum, since I figured if I just changed the page people would delete it, but after confirming it worked with and without the armor upgrade, Eddo36 suggested I edit the wiki page. While I agree it's not a true fix as I have not tested to see if the weight resumes adding itself, it is still technically a workaround for the problem. This way you can keep bringing ED-E to The Fort instead of having to dismiss it beforehand, and if the phantom weight starts to become too much for you, simply send ED-E to the Lucky 38 to reset its inventory weight. It might seem like a pain, but it's better than having to dismiss ED-E EVERY SINGLE TIME you want to go to The Fort. 71.171.112.74 19:10, September 21, 2012 (UTC)

Mojave Campaign

I added it in the 4th column with a divider line between 4 and 5. There's just no room anymore for a fifth; the columns would become too small or the infobox to wide. It's not ideal, but 'll do I think. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 19:13, September 21, 2012 (UTC)

I didn't do any such thing. I was involved in those quests as a while back i added them. Maybe it's a bit redundant, but at the time we split them into human/ghoul/super mutant character, we decided to also leave them in the general character overview page. Leave like it is now I think. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 21:20, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

Fallout: Apprentice

Hey, Paladin! I was wondering if you would like to upload an electronic signature? I am currently creating the Grand Prize for Chad's Fallout: Apprentice, and I am wanting to create a plaque that has all of the consenting leadership's signatures and thanks on it! ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 14:33, October 15, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, you are a strange and disturbed fellow. ;D Well, really, just use a tablet or a program like Paint to write in your signature and either upload it here, or e-mail it to me at RemnantofGrandeur@hotmail.com (Just a casual e-mail. I don't care if anyone sees it.) Also, if you'd like, you can even write out your thanks, which will be added to the letter that will be sent with the plaque. Mine is too. ;) Too spartan. Well, if you're not comfortable or able to send in a handwritten signature, I can make a default one in your stead. Just tell me which font you'd like me to use. (Or send me a link to a custom font of your choosing.) ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 14:58, October 15, 2012 (UTC)

Edit War

While the sentence is factual, in a ways, it is also comprised of unnecessity and bias. Because in reality, we can technically add that sentence to just about every location article page. So here's what I'm going to do: I am going to revert Tag's changes. I will keep the page locked for 1-week until you Eden and Tag can properly talk this over. Once there is consensus, I will take into account whether the sentence should remain or be removed. Does that sound fair? ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 15:31, October 23, 2012 (UTC)

Great. Just sent Tag a message too, so hopefully we can get a discussion set up soon over this matter. Just let me know if you need anything else. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 15:49, October 23, 2012 (UTC)
Is that right? My mistake, then. I was just remembering the other... eh, edit wars they've had in the past. Have you managed to get into touch with Tag? Fleshing out

I thought it was obvious, wasn't it?

  1. Two games are set in the Core Region, giving a detailed look at the major settlements there, the sociopolitical dynamics, history, major events, economy etc.
  2. These games also introduce a great deal of major factions, such as the NCR, merchant houses, New Reno, Brotherhood of Steel (which is dying, thankfully), Followers of the Apocalypse etc.
  3. New Vegas further expands on the Core Region's history and the above mentioned elements, providing a lot of extra details of its own.
  4. With the Fallout Bible and Van Buren documents on top as extra.

It's a matter of facts, not opinion. Of course, some can argue that because you can travel through a scaled down, heavily compressed game map hardly indicative of the actual look of the area in terms of lore, but that's a completely nonsensical argument. The ability to peek into a used outhouse in the middle of nowhere =/= fleshing out.

Fallout 3 also loses in this category because it has so little actually world and character development. It's not fleshed out, it just is. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 06:38, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

Let's try and work this out on my TP if you'd like Paladin, although tbh I don't see either of us doing anything but correcting an inconsistency and I don't see it going anywhere, let's give it a shot.--Enclavesymbol 16:28, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

Notable Loot Section

Notable Loot section I added in Yao guai cave (Honest Hearts) actually served a purpose. I combed the cave for about 30 minutes making sure I wasn't going to blow up anything important when I detonated the mining charges. I simply wanted people to know that there is nothing of import there. In conclusion, notable.

DarknessCalling (talk) 03:26, October 27, 2012 (UTC)

I hardly think that's the same thing. It's more for completion-ists who wish to get everything they can. Perhaps we can come to an agreement on how to word it so that people like me aren't afraid to immediately leave the cave and detonate the charges after killing the Yao Guai inside.

Fast Shot

I've tried some things out, but during real time firing I don't get a time difference with and without Fast Shot. Tried it with automatic and well as single shot guns, no difference. Only when you use VATS, the perk goes into effect it seems. With the perk less chance to hit, but more VATS shots possible, so that makes for the faster firing I suppose. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 01:02, November 1, 2012 (UTC)

I've clearly seen a difference in real-time rate of fire when using semi-autos and pump-/bolt-action weapons during my tests and playthroughs, both on PS3 and PC. It's only the full-autos and the obvious "reload after every shot" weapons that aren't being affected. V da Mighty Taco (talk) 19:08, November 1, 2012 (UTC)

Omerta and the Mafia

It looks as if the mafia is not supposed to exploit prostitution. But that's from Antonino Calderone's 1987 testimony, it seems some families haven't been doing to well since then, presumably falling into previously forbidden practice.

"These rules are not to touch the women of other men of honour; not to steal from other men of honour or, in general, from anyone; not to exploit prostitution..."

Back then it probably would've been true, the guy's brother was a Mafia boss.

As for irony, their name implies following the Mafia code, yet they practice what is forbidden. Although since the Omerta name is only the code of silence and not the code of honour, that may not be the case for them. Especially since one commandment (the third) is not to go to clubs, which is something they actually run. Noblaum (talk) 18:57, November 18, 2012 (UTC)

Re:The Stealth Armor with head gear pic.

It was defined as a bug by the admin who moved the Samurai helm / Stealth Armour pic to this page. It is an oddity that is not shared by any other one piece head and body item ~Example : The radiation suit ect.

If you question it I suggest you speak to Bloodline Boudoux. Sorry if I spelled his name wrong.

The stealth armor is unlike any other one piece clothing item. I am not the one who said it should be considered a bug I am just following the decision made my others.

The picture is at least worthy of note due to it rare ability to wear a one piece suit with other head hats and even glasses at the same time.

As I said you should discuss it with Bloodline.

Summary: A single double-barreled shotgun and random chems and clothing are not notable.

I wouldn't have made note, but there was mention of other double-barreled shotguns in this area. I've also seen notes of safes in the notable loot section, some of which had some unimpressive contents, usually when they are well-hidden. Thanks for clearing that up.RAHMtheBOOYAKA (talk) 14:59, December 29, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know about the Fallout Wiki:notable loot policy page, I'll check it out. As for the reasons why I listed the meeting of the Minds floating brain bug separately for the ps3, there was a weapon difference, platform difference, and the fact I tested dislodging the brain on PS3 and I'm unable to test on PC. I had originally worded it almost exactly like your edit, but without the word "possibly" before Sydney's 10mm "Ultra" SMG. In my opinion your edit makes it sound like it is as likely as not that my method is viable, while not detracting from the viability of the PC method. Also, unless you've tested jumping into the brain and dislodging it on the PC, I believe that there is a lack of distinction in your final sentence, implying the assumption that PC users could dislodge the brain by jumping into it. I find it highly unlikely that you tested this yourself on PC given the timeframe of your edit in relation to mine.

On a slightly related note, there seem to be some disgruntled people on your talk page complaining about the content of your edits of their work. While I am still very new, and I'm trying to find out things as I learn and contribute, I assume you are more knowledgeable about the rules and guidelines. While I don't mind being corrected and welcome it if it's an overall improvement (as in the case of the non-notable loot you corrected me on), I think you missed the reason why I made a distinct mention of the bug in question for PS3. At the very least, I was hoping to warrant a PC user's testing the bug as I described it for the PS3 in order to make a change that wasn't dictated by policy or +1 as much as credibility and viability. I think the quality of that edit was poor.RAHMtheBOOYAKA (talk) 15:16, December 29, 2012 (UTC)

Not sure if you have seen yet but Neko's first day of the RP was just posted. I know we had talked about teaming up, and I just talked with Jasper, and he's interested too. But 4 is a nice even number so we had the idea of including Leon (GarouxBloodline). So you interested in teaming up? It seems in order to complete the quest we need to explore to the East as well with the rest of our 4 party group. So I think it be best if we change our actions to instead of fail the quest, and leave two members of our group to fend it for themselves, we should change our actions to explore east as well. (Maybe next round you and me can go off and explore just the two of us well Jasp and Leon explore elsewhere. Stealing Independence

About the bug you just removed from the quest Stealing Independence, I actually think the bug is not a general super mutant bug. I think the game makes several waves of mutants spawn, but to prevent it from getting too hard, all of them are spawned as regular mutants. However, the overlords appear to be in some sort of other group, still giving them the name 'super mutant', but everything else is overlord. Of course, this is only my theory. I have done no research, this is just based on my experience with programming.

Driver Nephi & Cook-Cook Pages

My contributions to the pages Driver Nephi and Cook-Cook were deleted due to the following reason:

"Undo revision 1812652 by Gunslinger470 (talk) Since this note is about the quest, not the character, it belongs more on that page, which is where it already is."

Since this has happened and that it is already in the quest section, I am deleting the following off of the Violet page.

  • The Bloody Mess Perk can cause havoc with this quest, as it can make Violet's head explode even if the player does not damage it. Players should try to complete this quest before getting the perk or saving beforehand. This also applies to the other fiend leaders.

If it is reinstated to the page I believe that it should be put on the pages Driver Nephi and Cook-Cook or deleted altogether from all three pages and be left on the Quest page for Three-Card Bounty.

Thank You for your Time.

P.S. Please respond if you see any problems with this.

Apprentice

Hi, you might remember last week I revealed the "pre-qualification" challenge for this years apprentice... This is just a quick note to confirm that should you choose to play this year (and I hope you do), you don't have to play this challenge. I'm hoping to kick off the main game at the end of Feburary, and am talking to Bethesda about some lovely prizes. Some challenges this year will be a bit similar (but with a twist), and some will be completely new. I hope I can count you in. Agent c (talk) 23:03, January 13, 2013 (UTC)

I'm toying with the idea of letting pre-qualified play it if they choose, simply because this years replacement for the immunities (which were never used) could be very useful (you get an extra vote in the community poll if and when you need it - and they stack so win 5 challenges, get 5 extra votes when you need it). Glad to count you in though. Agent c (talk) 23:11, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
