Man there are some unfinished projects out there. And some people want to create new ones as well. Here is my ''opinion''. As per the other forum we have going we need to clean up the other projects. A lot of those projects can be finished by the people we have here as those people are still here and apparently either got bored with it or something else happened. Who know, point being is that we have unfinished projects that need to be completed ''before'' we go about making new ones. Once Fallout 4 comes out, we really won't have the time to go back and fix these projects and they will be lost forever in the category of "inactive projects". The graveyard where no project ever comes back from. Some of the older game stuff will be hard to find editors for but FO3 and FO:NV we have plenty here who play either or both. Let's do this peeps. :Please don't be rude and dismiss this forum. That forum addresses reassigning old projects. I am concerned with new and possibly unneeded projects being created when there are plenty of current unfinished projects. That is the purpose if this forum.--[[User:Kingclyde|Kingclyde]] ([[User talk:Kingclyde|talk]]) 21:24, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

::I'm not being rude. I think the issue of the number of projects and content thereof is all one big issue, and to sepreate it into new and old doesn't make sense. In any case, you're advocating that people should work on an old project in deference to creating a new project, which is actually what the other forum (by your own words) is for: reaassignment - it goes beyond just simple reassignment too. I think you're just confusing things by having another discussion away from the discussion. [[User:Agent c|Agent c]] ([[User talk:Agent c|talk]]) 21:36, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

I noticed this earlier today but I am just a member so I moved on without making any fuss but now that the topic is open.. It makes better sense if you want to start a project to find other members and discus it first. Then as a group approach a mod or admin that might help redefine it and or put it into action.

I understand what you mean, and the release of Fallout 4 will put most of our current projects on the back-burner for even longer. However, innovation has a mind of its own, and newer projects that have proven their worth should remain addressed, as well. It wouldn't do us any good to ignore new ideas and/or issues just because we already have some not properly or entirely addressed. Did you have a solution? An incentive prospect might help get these projects done. Not sure what we could do to incentivize editors, however, and there's always the issue of editors expecting to be incentivized later instead of doing it out of good will. I'll let you all know if I come up with something. Hey Skire. I though personally that Chickenoflight actions were indeed bannable offenses yet I couldn't do that myself so I left the notice instead. I just actually jumped into chat to see if an admin could take care of it. Nice hit though Skire. <s> Side note though, even though you banned the user, he still seems to be sitting in chat. Not sure if you want him kicked or something as I know a ban should disallow chat aswell - unless I have misunderstood wiki bans all this time >_> </s> Anyways, see you around Skire! --[[User:The Old World Relics|The Old World Relics]] <font color= "Black"> ''([[User talk:The Old World Relics|talk]]/[[User blog:The Old World Relics|blog]]/[[Special:Contributions/The_Old_World_Relics|contributions]])'' </font> 21:37, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

== Votes ==

This will be a circulating message to all users that expressed their opinions over my recent [http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:DB:New_Wiki_Features_-_Vote discussion and vote.] Please make sure to update your votes accordingly to this new information:

*Info-box Mk.II - For those of you wanting to see an example first, an example for how the changes will look (Keep in mind that this example is in its most basic form.) can now be found [http://communitytest.wikia.com/wiki/User:MarkvA/test here.] If a positive community consensus is reached, the new design will become functional here and the community can decide from there whether the final design is appropriate or not on Nukapedia.

*JunkRadio - I would like to share a quote from the JunkRadio designer himself: I was thinking of adding it to the top left or bottom left corner of the wiki. I can give it absolute positioning, which means that it will display on the top left, regardless of screen resolutions. If necessary, I can make it scroll down with the page as well, although this might distract users from reading the actual pages. - Mark van Alphen

**Thank you for reading, and I'll be looking forward to gathering everyone's final opinion over these new changes. Due to the overwhelming support so far for all three changes, only needing minor points to update them for clarity, the vote will continue as normal, and will end on the 23rd as scheduled. If you would like to dispute this, please leave your concerns and reasons behind them over my talk-page. Happy editing! Responding to your message, I fully plan to continue to support this wiki, (it is my favorite), but my job and education are taking up increasingly larger amounts of what was my free time. I've been unable to actively contribute on a regular basis but I still check the wiki once or twice every week for any news. I will still be available if anything needs doing, and if there is anything specific feel free to contact me, (I will try to log on more to check my messages). Believe me I do want to help and become a more active member, I just don't always have enough free time. If something big does come up, (possibly Fallout 4), then don't hesitate to contact me, I'll help in anyway I can. ::In regards to the protection, short sighted was the wrong word to use, Chad explained the logic to me, however I see it as something that would create difficulty when updating links, adding links or any other editing that may need to be done. Additionally, I feel that it is further made a bit unnecessary by the fact that they don't get edited much, and Wagnike's edits to them are the first in a while and protecting the pages, in my opinion makes it harder for those users who might be working on Van Buren articles to make any changes to that page, and while as you said one can contact someone with rights to unlock it or edit it themselves I feel that adds an extra step in editing something that isn't often touched upon to begin with. I understand the desire to protect them however, say they had already been protected, then unless I'm horribly mistaken, it wouldn't have stopped Wagnike from editing them as he's staff, it would however, make it harder for those edits to be reverted. This is just my opinion, and while I realize that it differs from yours, I felt that I should let you know my reasoning. == Platforms Needed Tag ==

The platforms needed tag isn't mean to replace the Verify tag. It is supposed to be placed on bugs that lack the <nowiki>{{platforms}}</nowiki> tag. That said, bugs that are without a platform on FO3 and NV articles are usually unverified bugs. The platforms needed tag seems a little bit superfluous at the moment, because if a bug has been verified then the platform should be indicated. Now not all bugs that are without a platform are unverified, in that situation the use of the platforms needed tag as a marker is what I'm assuming the template was originally made for. --[[User:-bleep196-|-bleep196-]] ([[User talk:-bleep196-|talk]]) 15:37, April 1, 2013 (UTC)

:Yes you are correct. It's kind of confusing to be honest, the Platforms Needed template has become kind of redundant. --[[User:-bleep196-|-bleep196-]] ([[User talk:-bleep196-|talk]]) 03:43, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

::Huh? Of course, why wouldn't I? The platforms needed template isn't going anywhere, it's still useful, so there is no need to get rid of it. While I have pioneered the policies we use for bugs, I have not been alone in my endeavors, and it's not really a competition either. The platforms needed tag was an excellent idea, and still functions well within our current system, it is a template we just have to use in combination with the verify template, it's main purpose has just become a little bit redundant is all. I'm sure we can find some way to tweak it so that it's no longer so redundant. --[[User:-bleep196-|-bleep196-]] ([[User talk:-bleep196-|talk]]) 20:47, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

:I wouldn't really classify them as not being common enough to be generic robots, seeing as in how they're one of the few robots left in post-War America that are still being manufactured off of assembly lines from multiple locations. But yes, I fully believe that they should remain de-capped, as their name has no special significance other than to declare their model type. Consequently, 'the player' should be avoided and the third person form 'the player character' should be used. I'm going to message Leon and get his take on it, I feel as though the inclusion of 'the player' in the editing guidelines may simply be an oversight. ::I apologize for insinuating, I didn't mean it in that way. I was moderately confused because under English language grammatical conventions, 'the player' constitutes second person POV probably 99% of the time it's used, and was certainly in this perspective in Hawk's edit. Regardless, Leon appears to have clarified the matter on FW:EDIT. Apologies if I seemed blunt or hostile, I was in the middle of finals prep and was trying to clarify my position as fast as possible. == Shortcuts ==

No, it's fine. Something wacky happened to the shortcuts and/or the shortcut template when Wikia changed the namespace from The Vault to Fallout Wiki, I believe. The shortcuts aren't working the way the template usage says they should, but they're working and that's what's important. I tried and couldn't get them to work putting the shortcut redirects in the Fallout Wiki namespace. The only way I could get them to work was putting the redirect in the mainspace like you did, so as far as I'm concerned, if they're working, they're good to go. I'm just adding the shortcut category to them to finish them. Revision as of 21:36, 13 May 2013

Forums: Index > Wiki discussion > Projects, projects and projects

Man there are some unfinished projects out there. And some people want to create new ones as well. Here is my opinion. As per the other forum we have going we need to clean up the other projects. A lot of those projects can be finished by the people we have here as those people are still here and apparently either got bored with it or something else happened. Who know, point being is that we have unfinished projects that need to be completed before we go about making new ones. Discuss!--Kingclyde (talk) 20:26, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

Please don't be rude and dismiss this forum. That forum addresses reassigning old projects. I am concerned with new and possibly unneeded projects being created when there are plenty of current unfinished projects. That is the purpose if this forum.--Kingclyde (talk) 21:24, May 13, 2013 (UTC)
I'm not being rude. Agent c (talk) 21:36, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

I noticed this earlier today but I am just a member so I moved on without making any fuss but now that the topic is open.. It makes better sense if you want to start a project to find other members and discus it first. Then as a group approach a mod or admin that might help redefine it and or put it into action.

SaintPain TinySaintPainThat was broke afore I got here." 21:23, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 21:32, May 13, 2013 (UTC)
