5mm round is a type of ammunition in Fallout.

Background[edit | edit source]

The following section is transcluded from 5mm round. To modify, please edit the source page.

A high velocity round designed for assault rifles, the intermediate 5mm M134 cartridge[1] has been replaced by the more powerful 5.56mm round in assault rifles.[2] However, it found a new life as linked, belt fed ammunition for man-portable miniguns on the battlefield. It has also been retained as the ammunition of choice for paratrooper assault carbines, due to its light weight and portability.[3]

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

As with all other ammunition in Fallout, the modifiers do not work and the choice of ammo is purely cosmetic. This actually makes the assault rifle more useful, though not by much.

Weapons using this ammunition[edit | edit source]
