A Wanderer is a unique raider-type enemy in Fallout 3..

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The character's gender, race and appearance are randomly generated.
  • Beginning one grid square due east of the Roosevelt Academy's Arts and Athletics Hall is an explosive chain of cars lined up on the road. A bus sits on the north end where the road crests. Northeast of this visual landmark, and midway down a road leading to a valley, is a raised platform with a bed and table: presumably the Wanderer's home. This location can be concealed by the rocky terrain, so look closely when you are descending.
    • In and around the platform there's some food, ammunition, a mini nuke (under the table on top of the house), a pre-War book (on top of the table), and two of the relatively rare dog bowls.
  • Protectrons and robobrains randomly spawn in the area, so the Wanderer will often be dead when the Lone Wanderer decides to go looking. If the Lone Wanderer is lucky all, two, or one of the Wanderer's dogs will run at the Lone Wanderer from the location of the body or ash pile (critical hit from the robobrain or protectron), making it easier to collect A Wanderer's leather armor. Should the A Wanderer have been killed it is also possible to locate his corpse using Dogmeat: having him find a weapon for the Lone Wanderer will often lead him to seek out the A Wanderers sawed-off shotgun if done in the vicinity of A Wanderer's home.
