Animal Friend is a perk in Fallout, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76.

Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas[edit | edit source]
With the first rank of this perk, animals simply won't attack the player. With the second rank, these creatures will come to the player's aid in combat, but never against other animals.
The perk greatly reduces the threat level across the wasteland, particularly in enclosed areas and caves.
The perk icon in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas features a normal rabbit, as opposed to the mutant with an extra ear, eye, tooth, and a webbed foot in the previous games.
With the Animal Friend perk, you can aim at animals with your gun and attempt to pacify them. Higher ranks grant the ability to incite them to attack, or allow you to issue specific commands.

The first rank of Animal Friend allows the Sole Survivor to pacify any animal below their level by aiming their weapon at the animal. Once it is pacified, the second rank allows them to order the animal to attack, and the third rank allows them to give the animal specific commands beyond attacking.
