Animal Friends and Defenders was a pre-War organization before the Great War.

Background[edit | edit source]

Animal Friends and Defenders was a small pre-War organization dedicated to protecting animals and the environment against corporations.[1] It was destroyed after the Great War occurred.

A.F.A.D. had a special focus on the work that was carried out at Nuka-World, and would often disturb people and work at the Safari Adventure zone. They often wore animal masks, various animal tattoos and on occasion, full animal suits.[2] They often acted in forms of vandalism, as Dr. Hein, a scientist at the park, had his Chryslus Corvega vandalized and filled with manure. "Stop the torture!" was also painted across the security door of the Welcome Center on February 27, 2077, both of which were ignored, leading the group to take more drastic measures.[3]

In the early hours of October 23, 2077, a member sent a message by phone to Dr. Hein posing as an employee who required assistance in treating an injured escaped animal at the Angry Anaconda construction site.[4] Hein was then held as a hostage by the group, demanding release of animals and the ending of torture conducted by the staff, as well as pointing out the long-term damage that the Angry Anaconda, a rollercoaster under construction at the time, posed to the animals.[5] At some point, the Nuka-World security team was alerted to the situation.[6] However, the bombs fell before the crisis could be resolved.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Animal Friends and Defenders is mentioned in the Fallout 4 add-on Nuka-World.
