The Ark & Dove Cathedral is a settlement in Point Lookout. Its inner grounds inhabited by the local tribals.

Background[edit | edit source]

This massive cathedral is named after the two sailing ships (the The Ark and Maryland Dove) that landed in Maryland, to help establish an English colony in 1634. It is now the settlement of the local tribals; a cult that believes in the power of the Punga fruit.[1]

Layout[edit | edit source]

Exterior[edit | edit source]

The cathedral was built with a brick wall enclosing the surrounding area, with a gate at the front which acts as the entrance. Outside, there are some refined and wild punga fruit plants with Jimson, Croatoa, and other tribals guarding the front. To the northwest is a well that leads to the sea cave, as well as to the Ark & Dove resting grounds.

Interior[edit | edit source]

Inside there are special breeding pots that are utilized in order to cultivate refined punga fruit. At the back of the church, are Woodrose and Nadine. Other tribals wander around inside as well, although they are of no significant mention.

Inhabitants[edit | edit source]

Notable loot[edit | edit source]

Related quests[edit | edit source]

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • If the front gate is left open, feral ghouls may attack and kill the tribals.
  • Behind the cathedral, one can find flesh chunks (their origin are a mystery).

Appearances[edit | edit source]

The Ark & Dove Cathedral appears only in the Fallout 3 add-on Point Lookout.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

  • Although there is no actual cathedral near Point Lookout called "Ark & Dove", there is a real Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church further north in Odenton, MD.
  • The cathedral is named after the two English ships, The Ark and Maryland Dove, that originally colonized Maryland.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

  • PlayStation 3Icon ps3.png Xbox 360Icon xbox360.png When you enter the cathedral and talk to Nadine immediately (and select all of the dialogue options), the cathedral may become locked. As there is no key, this is problematic.
  • Occasionally, the tribals will turn hostile towards you. When you attack them the whole Cathedral will turn hostile. Waiting 72–73 hours will take it until the tribals are calmed down and you can safely come back.

This cathedral, named after the two sailing ships landing in Maryland to establish the English colony in 1633, is now the main hideout for the Tribals, a cult group that believes in the power of the Punga plant. They are generally docile, unless their leader—Professor Calvert—orders them to attack. The cathedral grounds and gate are inaccessible until you've completed the Ritual of Mother Punga, during Main Quest: Walking with Spirits. Beware of Ghouls in the entrance area, which features a sealed gate and an intercom you can use to question Jimson. Don't forget the Ark & Dove Well [3.c] if you need a quick entrance down into the Sea Cave [U3.16], but only after you've opened it from the underground.
Check to the right (southwest) of the main gate for a straw bed, Ammo, and Stimpaks on a tree stump.
