The auto-cannon is an autonomous defense turret equipped with twin Minigun cannons (in an both 5mm and .223 caliber) and relatively heavily armored. These are apart of the automated defense system of Control station Enclave and Sierra Army Depot IV, active in 2241.

Main article: Auto-cannon

A simple, yet efficient design, the auto-cannon turret is an autonomous defense robot. Built around an armored, rotating base, it contains a "head" with the main processing unit and sensors, with the auto-cannons mounted on articulated side mounts connected to the frame on the rear, which also contains eight hundred rounds of ammunition plus any additional ammunition cans for reloading. Simply put, it's an extremely potent defensive emplacement.

The auto-cannon is a stationary minigun with a very long range - just ten hexes shorter than the sniper rifle. It's absolutely lethal at close distances, especially against lightly armored targets (like Marcus), so a sniper or hunting rifle is the best way to destroy them without going into harm's way.

The standard dual minigun variant is located at Sierra Army Depot, with the heavy dual minigun turrets located at Control station Enclave.

Auto-cannons appear only in Fallout 2.
