The Bomb Disposal Unit, codename Boomer,[1] is a police Protectron found at the Southern Belle Motel in Appalachia in Fallout 76.
Background
Before the Great War, Boomer was a bomb disposal robot employed by the Berkeley Springs Police Department, used to defuse explosives.[2] One terrorist incident that Boomer successfully disarmed was near the highway in Berkeley Springs, left behind by the "Appalachian Assassin."[2] Incapacitated near the Southern Belle Motel, Boomer was left without proper repairs or any contact from its precinct.[3][4] It continues to pursue its prime directive, asking passersby for assistance in recovering explosive devices from nearby locations as part of the Idle Explosives daily quest.
