Codac R9000 cameras are miscellaneous items appearing in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
Background
A more refined twin lens reflex camera manufactured by Codac, using a conventional camera film. The combination of the rangefinder and a high-resolution lens allow for taking incredibly lifelike color pictures with minimal skill.[1] Codac actually manufactured two types of the R9000, one without the focusing screen on top, with an integrated flash, designed for automatic picture taking, and a Deluxe version that was a genuine twin lens reflex camera, which enabled detailed picture taking and aimed at professionals.[2]
Characteristics
Cameras are junk items that only have a specific function in Fallout 3: Either as junk-launcher ammunition or as loot to hand in to Scribe Rothchild after completing Broken Steel, as part of the Getting Ready for Prime Time collection quest.
In Fallout: New Vegas, cameras have no role except as mediocre junk (5 caps per unit of weight). The unique, usable Deluxe variant is used in one side quest. With Old World Blues, players can turn generic cameras in to the Toaster at the Sink, who will convert each into three microfusion cells and five energy cells.
Locations
- Kenny's cave: Cameras respawn at the cave, as Kenny uses them for target practice.
