I asked him to correct it earlier today. Our Resident Phantom gets a bit more leeway as we both know he meets the voting requirements - he's registered and posted before the date... As you say it now, you're 1 vote in favor of getting adminship. But that's not how it works in my experience. An admins vote will count slightly heavier than a normal users one, but you have a yes as well as a no vote there. And other votes also spread about even. I think though, a no vote does not do your case well. So you're at slight disadvantage right now. Try getting some new support, in chat for example. More yes votes from new people would benefit your request. [[user:Jspoelstra|Jspoel]] [[file:Speech Jspoel.png|10px|link=User talk:Jspoelstra]] 02:55, January 22, 2012 (UTC)

Voted for your request

Just voted for your request. I'm suprised with the result so far and sorry to see it. I hadn't expected this. If it were up to me, you'd pass. Still a little rough around the edges, but you've learned fast enough and I think you're ready. See if you can still make something happen (convince people you're ready). Jspoel Speech Jspoel 23:36, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

I can understand your words of being shocked but all too well. This comes as a nasty surprise. You were so geared up for it and now this happens. People with who you've been so interactive with just giving you a neutral or even a no. Disappointing, but they've given their reason and we have to respect that. See if you can turn it around somehow. Another 2 months wait would be frustrating, also for me. Maybe you can say you spend a lot of time here, so the wiki benefits a lot from you having the block and deletion rights. I'm spending I think 1,5 hour a day here checking all edits, so with you on the admin team that would give me (or admins in general) much more breathing space again. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 23:54, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, this really puts you to the test. Stay cool and level-headed. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 00:11, January 20, 2012 (UTC)
You've done what you can, don't contact people anymore about it. Two Bears getting the votes because he's here longer than you and is a bit better in communicating with users, though I feel after that correction to a new user yesterday you are now ready enough too. I know you are passionate, I see parts of myself back in you. Everyday online, seems to me almost giving all your free time to the wiki. And now after all this hard work you're rewarded with neutral and no votes. Very frustrating. Don't give up too fast, tomorrow's another day. I'll see if I can add something more to support you. After that you can decide about withdrawal. That would be a shame, because then you'll have to wait 2 more months I think as it would probably count as a failed request. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 03:18, January 20, 2012 (UTC)
That's the right decision I think. Better to see this through. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 03:57, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

My vote.

I am going to go ahead and turn my vote into a yes. Although I do agree with the others about you being a tad young in the community here, you have shown that you are willing to prove yourself by focusing attention to the areas that you need the experience in. (You could use an improvement on the initiative side though.) I also see many of the votes being fairly one-sided, so I feel leaving my vote as neutral would just do more harm than good, seeing as in how many users here can be fairly impressionable. I will, however, withdraw my confidence in you if you decide to drop the poll for your Adminship. A trait that all leaders should have is the quality to stick to their guns, even in the face of opposition. I have faith in you. Don't let us down. Dragon Skål! 02:58, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

Also, Ci will probably be putting your application up in the wiki news he's putting up tomorrow. Might be something worth taking advantage of. Dragon Skål! 03:22, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

Consider it a yes from Yes-Man. When I first became a chat moderator, I was a hardly experienced user but regardless I was given the position. I'd like to think I got pretty good at filling those shoes after a while. You might not be the most experienced user, and (no offence) there are many users I'd choose to become an admin over you, but those users weren't the ones who applied. Eventually you'll get the hang of it, because let's be fair, it's impossible to get good at something if you're not given a chance to try it, am I right? And besides, if you go look at the list of inactive administrators, there are some that have barely made 100 edits. If they can become an admin, you should have no trouble with it. 114.77.77.5 04:27, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

Hi just wanted to know you mentioned my logo as undecided, and a couple of alternates have been posted, do you find it better there? Just asking as you were on the neutral opinion side--Carinth 16:41, January 20, 2012 (UTC).

Ok no worries, just wanted to make sure you had seen the billboard one with the type alterations I was asked about. Take care.--Carinth 20:25, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

Yes

But unfortunately that was left far before he decided to go on another blocking rampage. As of 35 minutes ago it seems he's still going full force. 9_9; User:Great_MaraMessage 19:43, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

I was just poking around Community Central looking for such a way to report him if contacting their wiki's founder somehow didn't work. Closest thing that I saw was only Report Wiki though. I told Vapor Snake I'd let them deal with it in-house before taking it over there though. So I'll think I'll wait. User:Great_MaraMessage 19:57, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

Chat

I know you don't feel like a chat mod, but for your overall campaign to move up I think it will help if you are in chat more. It helps get your face in front of a fair few influential people, and can help humanise you a bit to other voters... Think about it. Agent c 21:51, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

If you feel that your turf is chat, then go for it. I know it's my turf. I've always belonged in chat, even thought I've made some contributions to the wiki as well. Thing is, being in chat is not necessary. It's a good way to gain the trust and respect of a major part of the community, sure, but it's in no way to only way to go about this. Just felt like I needed to weigh in here.
P.S. Looks a bit like I'm trying to dissuade you from chatting, lol. Not the case, just wanted to make sure you got that chat isn't a necessity. Hugs MadeMan2 "Say 'ello to my little friend!"
I'd spend some time in chat if I were you. Maybe it helps. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 00:14, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
I've barely spent any time in chat. :P I can count on both hands how many times I've been in there. Dragon Skål! 00:22, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

Poll

I was counting the poll. You have four Yes votes, four No votes, and four Neutral votes. If you can change a few of those Neutral into Yes, you might have a chance. 114.77.77.5 22:41, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

^Is that some sort of obscure Australian maths? Hugs MadeMan2 "Say 'ello to my little friend!"
You know I failed maths. I made that fairly clear when I stated that I didn't know if 0 came before 1. 114.77.77.5 22:45, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

Ironic that a stingray killed the Crocodile hunter. Nobody expected that one. I guess his diploma of croc-wrestling didn't cover stingray etiquette. Anyway, we should stop considering this is someone else's talk page :P 114.77.77.5 22:54, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Danny

I'm glad you found it helpful. I don't really know the particulars of the situation, to be honest, I've just talked to a few users I know very well who have reservations about you and the job. Don't let it bother you, though, I had Jspoel himself vote against me on two of my applications. So, I think with him in your corner it'll happen no matter what, although it might not be as soon as you'd like. Please just keep up your good work and don't get down, that's the guaranteed way to achieve your goals. BILLYOCEAN Wanna talk? 00:35, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

Condition project

I put a table in the project page so we can show each other our progress. Maybe you could change those groups that you've tagged from "In progress to "tagged"? That'll be a big help when I start the FO3 pages. And, as you can see, I've got all the NV guns done, am doing energy and explosives now. Do you want to do melee and unarmed? As for your request, like I said earlier, I'm taking it under consideration and I will leave my thoughts when they are coalesced. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 00:42, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

We can use the same formulas for the unarmed and melee weapons, both in NV and in FO3 (after verification). We could word them like "Punchmaster 2000 can successfully whack a 1337M4573R in the noggin' 1973 times before being rendered a complete pile of useless junk. Oh and archieve this damn page. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 00:58, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I missed the location of the notes section on that one. I had been checking and had to move or insert some myself. As for the melee/unarmed weapons, as far as I can tell, any and every attack is considered one application of weapon decay. Before we do anything with those pages, I'll test out the special attacks and tricks to make sure they also apply like regular attacks. I'm also gonna play with a template for a "Durability" sub-section to be placed in the "Characteristics" section that will include durability of the weapons across all mod combinations and ammo types. We're only giving a portion of this info now and we have the ability to add the complete picture in a nice little table if there's consensus to do it. Check my sandbox in a little bit, I'll see what I can come up with. Also, please change those status entries on the progress table to "tagged" so I know what you've got tagged. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 18:09, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
Take a look at my sandbox and see if you like the first draft of the table I made to include all ammunition types and mods that effect weapon durability. If we add this, I recommend putting it as a sub-heading in the characteristics section, since weapon durability is an inherent characteristic of said weapon, rather that leave the info mixed in with a bunch of unrelated notes down in the notes section. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 19:28, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
I added a second more horizontal table for comparision. I'm looking at trying to use parameters to pull all the proper info right off of the existing data on the page. Most of it's already there. If I can pull that off, I'll make a template and we can either see if I can figure out how to run a bot, or have wikia make a bot run. I got a ways to go with the parameter functions, though, so it might be a while before I have anything prepared. We could manually enter either of the current tables pretty quick if desired. Making a template for them wouldn't be hard. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 21:32, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

(I'm trying to see if I can come up with a template that does all the math for you. If I can do it, a little bit of work right now will save a ton of work later and the template can be used for later games also. Give me a bit, since I'm learning as I go, but I'll keep you posted. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 23:00, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

OK, I put a test table up on the .44 magnum revolver (Fallout: New Vegas) page. Take a look at it. If everyone's good with this, I'll make up the template to use on all the NV pages. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg
Are you sure you want to clear it from the infobox? It leaves alot of empty page in between. Also, I'll change the link (I wanted to link it like that but didn't know how, thanks for showing me). The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 00:00, January 22, 2012 (UTC)

Famous Epiphany

I don't believe that there is such thing as an epiphany. It's just a fancy way of saying that you figured something out. As for my change of heart, I thought who am I to say wether or not someone should get ahead in their personal goals? It makes no difference to me if you become and admin, so why the hell not. It feels good to make people happy. 114.77.77.5 01:30, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for your vote, I will reconsider yours this week. Like it's been said, admins are elected due to both their editing and their relationships with the community. While your's is good, it could use some work, hence my neutral. I'll be thinking about it.--Bunny2Bubble 03:47, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

Administration

I had my thoughts about giving you a neutral, but seeing that you will do a great job when you become an admin (if you at all become a one) I voted for yes. MysteryStranger: Trust in the power of Infinity! 16:18, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

You've been missing out!

It's only too bad you weren't around earlier to help me out with this Jaf problem. Although he only affect ours wiki in a mild way at the moment, it is good to recognize a potential threat that may return with a vengeance. It's made for an interesting case though! I'm just glad we're not the one's feeling his wrath at the moment. You should look everything over though, if nothing else but to learn just how much trouble one person can cause and standard procedure for how to deal with them. Dragon Skål! 18:09, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

Higg's Village

That's why I have such a problem with speculation. One person sees a possible reference that hasn't been confirmed and the next thing you know people are looking for meanings where there are none. Next thing you know you have about 2 pages worth of content until someone like me comes along and cleans it up. Nei, the speculation I removed is the kind we need to work at removing. It was extremely far-fetched. Dragon Skål! 21:36, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
