Chateau Montrose is a grand vin vintage from the famous winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The pedigree of the wine is impeccable - in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855 it was classified as as one of fifteen Deuxièmes Crus. Montrose wines tend to be deeply tannic and take up to two decades to mature. The 2043 is a particularly good year, though as the Capitol Post once sardonically quoted the White House spokesman, Warren Eccleston, it was a "detestable" vintage. A perfect example of just how detached the U.S. government was from its people.
