Chris is an Enclave guard who can be found on the surface in Navarro in Fallout 2.

Background[edit | edit source]

Seemingly an old man leading a solitary life in a defunct gas station,[1] Chris is actually an Enclave serviceman. His role is to maintain the gas station security checkpoint, clearing Enclave transfers and turning away travelers and tourists. He also acts as an early warning system, alerting the base should complications arise.

  • Chris will ask the player about their arrival at Navarro once they arrive at the gas station. He will attempt to turn away the player by convincing them there's nothing out there. The player can feign ignorance and end dialogue, allowing them to enter the complex.
  • However, it's possible to trigger a full base alert by revealing that the player works with the Brotherhood (if sent to Navarro as part of the quest) or pushing the issue of Vertibirds.
  • It's also possible to convince Chris that the player is an Enclave transfer, by inquiring about joining (requires a Speech check. 45 - 50% is a reasonable value here). He will provide the player with a password and 1500 xp. If the player has a party tag along, Chris will complain about them, requiring another Speech check to successfully convince him that they are hired guns protecting the player through the wasteland.
