Common house (Megaton)
Fallout 3 locations project
|For the common house in Big Town, see Common house (Big Town).|
Exterior (upper left), ground floor (upper right), second floor (lower left), third floor (lower right)
The common house is a three-story building in Megaton that serves as temporary housing for transients and other non-citizens.
The common house was created to house transient wastelanders and potential citizens. All residents of the common house are under inspection from Lucas Simms and are saving up to buy a house. They are not considered to be Megaton citizens and are treated as outsiders by the main members of Megaton. While most residents of the common house work in Megaton and receive rations of food and water, they are not technically citizens as they do not own a home within the settlement.
On the first floor, three bunk beds are placed along the walls. The stair near the entrance moves the player to the second floor. The second floor features some dining tables and a refrigerator. The atrium is in the center along the wall. The third and last floor has little to offer: some chairs and empty bed frames.
- Unlike the common room in Rivet City, the common house contains no unowned beds the player can sleep in.
- The player can take anything from the common house without losing karma.
The common house appears only in Fallout 3.
- There is a glitched bar chair on the first floor. If you sit on it, your arms float in the air.
- When you first walk into the house, the bed immediately to your left is glitched. If a non-player character is sleeping on the bed you have a 0% chance of hitting that non-player character in V.A.T.S. with a melee weapon if you aim from the front, but you still have a 95% chance of hitting that non-player character in the back.
