S/he doesn't have a finger without Lawbringer, at least not after Broken Steel. Should that be removed...? 213.65.69.18 19:19, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Is he/she really random?

  • The character's gender, race and appearance are randomly generated.

But I encount "him" several times and they look the same.By Dr.Xen 07:05, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Finger?

  • The character has a finger on his/her corpse, even if you don't have the Lawbringer perk.

I never had this happen... Fiddlesoup 18:19, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Shhh! It's a cover up! The government are stealing our brains! Why no, I have not found a finger on her corpse. Spoon 18:22, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
The character has neutral karma, thus no finger or ear.--Kingclyde 06:21, September 13, 2009 (UTC)

Doesn't show up at his shack

I searched for him/her around Paradise Falls and the Roosevelt academy, but s/he isn't there. On the way I found the corpse of a Raider Guard Dog, so is there a chance s/he's been killed and does the Wanderer's corpse disappear? 173.171.3.42 19:30, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

There is a chance s/he will die from radscorpions or in my case a Mr. Gutsy but if you reload a previous save and try again he should be there. PhayzeShift 01:01, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

I found his ash pile but I can´t loot it, I just press the A button to loot it and nothing happens, Any fix?

Vids moved from article

Really don't need this vid on the mainpage. --Kingclyde 06:12, September 13, 2009 (UTC)

Does he/she re-spawn? Or are they a one time thing? (FTM, any relation to nearby cars exploding?

I know this sounds silly, but I've looked around for this jerk off and on for what seems like a year. (It hasn't been that long. Honest. 2-3 months, tops!) I see Raider guard dogs spawn in the river beds, I find them dead, etc, but I never find a Wanderer, a dead Wanderer, a pile of ashes, goo, etc. I search all over the general area, at night with my pipboy light on and at daytime, with all kinds of camera positions, and I've sent Dogmeat in search of ammo and weapons a zillion times. I even blew up the cars lined up on the highway like in the video, solely because I thought that has something to do with it (I hope it doesn't, considering I can't do it again!).

Anyhow, does anyone at least know if the Wanderer re-spawns after it gets whacked?

He is not linked to the cars and he is always at the same place. He is exactly where described in the article and despite his name he doesn't wander at all. He stands near his patrol point all time (he never uses his bed). Of course he will move under attack but if he is not killed he will return to his patrol point after a short time. When you are on the road with the cars and a lot of radscorpions there is a bus. Don't blow the cars but rather look at the orientation of the bus. Follow that direction. Not far you'll easily find a bed and a bit further in the same direction a small pool of water. He should be just between the bed and the pool. If he is not here, then he was probably killed by the 2 nasties nearby. There is really no need to explode the cars because it only makes the search of the body very difficult. It is not a tough character, just a basic raider with a name (level 9, 85 HP and his armor is in poor condition). The creatures around are much more dangerous. His body will disappear after some time and does not respawn. There are 2 respawning creature just near his location. Can be 2 bloatflies at level 1 but it can be 2 YaoGuais at level 9 or 2 deathclaws/sentrybots after level 16. Hope it will help if someone is still looking for him. His armor is not worth wasting 2 monthes to find it.Croquignol 02:42, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

Not a Mad Max reference

From the article itself: "The character's gender, race and appearance are randomly generated."

  • In addition, since leather armor and sawed-off shotguns are prevalent throughout the game, they do not constitute a new reference every time they are used. The Leather Armor is noted as being one of the Mad Max-influenced pieces of this game. We don't need to mention it again on this page.
  • Having pet "dogs" wouldn't make anyone a Mad Max reference, since he had one dog, and it was special.
  • The roadway packed with cars doesn't help the reference case at all.

No reference here.--Gothemasticator 18:48, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Dear Gothemasticator, Darn You!!! How can you always have a good reason for everything you do!? How is that even possible!? You Sir, are a Marvel of Nature! I envy the way you always make a stronger case than I. I'm still pretty new at this, so I'm still learning how everything around here works. Thanks for all the Help :-) --James Rednok 22:21, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Try not to start with a space, those boxes are realy annoying. - RASICTalk 22:22, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Dear CrazySam10, Oh so that's why it does that! Thanks, like I said, still just a learner! --James Rednok 22:25, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

look gonna go out on a lamb here so don't shoot me down. On their own the few bits of hints to MM are nothing but together I think you have a strong case, the dogs are the same as MM, the shotgun, the fact he lives (relatively) alone, the cars, the fact that not only he is wearing leather armour but its unique, unique status is a big thing as usually there is a reasoning behind it or something special about its owner though that isn't always true though I do realise stating some of this may be patronising, sorry if it is. I escape my point, point is alone i couldn't agree with you more that they are no evidence, if it was then there would be no end of references to MM all over the show but together you do have evidence, think unilaterally as opposed to each being unconnected... if this where the case then courts would have a hell storm trying to give guilty verdicts

Name

Shouldn't this page be called 'A wanderer' considering our guidelines? Wanderer is not a proper-noun. -- GOTW User | Talk 13:26, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

In-game it's capitalized, but I agree that "Wanderer" should be changed to "wanderer" to fit the guidelines. 69.125.134.190 16:24, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
Indeed, but a lot of the in-game capitalisations are changed here. I'll sort it out. -- GOTW User | Talk 12:50, June 30, 2013 (UTC)
