Bureaucrat

I know, I know. There are still some things that are holding me back from it. But as an admin I can do a lot too. Only thing a bc can do more is granting and revoking admin rights. It might be relevant if this wasn't a gaming wikia. Unless there is some specific reference from a reputable source explaining the comparison between the two, it is not information that needs to be added. Even though I've already had to fight with other editors with this before, I can see about bringing in another mediator if that would make you feel better. Hate to seem anal retentive, but I like to keep things clean and to the point. I understand that a little colour to the articles can't hurt... I would just rather it be important to the reasons why an editor might visit that specific article. Latin translations are just a shot in the dark to try and find filler for said page. Wiki's new name

I haven't really seen a good name. Personally I would choose for Fallout Wiki. It may not have much flavor, but it's clear as a bell. Universe could be ok too, but I don't like the others. Of course, I don't speak for the community. I've asked Kingclyde what he thinks of it, it may well be possible he will do what you suggest. Re:Chat ban

If I may butt in here, the banning rate from chat is no higher than it ever has been, discounting last night's events. To earn a ban of any consequences one must have broken a rule, easy as that. Administrators and Moderators page

Hey there. Just thought I'd let you know, it's generally not a good idea to be editing the "Administrators and Moderators" page, let alone any non-article page. Not to sound rude, but new editors shouldn't be messing around with those kinds of pages. It's usually left up to administrators and bureaucrats to make changes to them. For example, removing inactive moderators isn't a good idea, neither is adding chat moderators to the moderator page (they're two different things, therefore Ethan shouldn't be listed as a moderator). Anyway, just thought I'd let you know. 114.77.77.5

A small habit of yours

Yush, I've noticed a habit of yours, one I don't really agree on. You have a habit of removing talk page messages, and, as far as I've seen, mostly those that put you in a bad light in one fashion or another. This is generally frowned upon, and personally I have a problem with trusting anyone who does it. It shows of inability to handle things as they are and take critique properly. Multiple accounts

Fallout Tactics characters

I changed some stub templates on FT pages. They need to be added at the bottom of the page and just the template will place it to the FT category, you don't have to do it manually. Don't go around adding them to every page, just the ones that have very little information. Though I feel your efforts are better spent on New Vegas pages. Jspoel 01:17, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

Moderatorship

Yes, I picked up that message from Yes Man to you and here's my advice. You've been very active and made a good name for yourself around here in the past month. It's interesting how positions and names have changed here during that time. A lot of people, admins and trusted users left, some new names have come forward in the community. Yours one of the more prominent. If you plan to continue being this edit-active, then I'd say wait till TwoBears' request has passed and at the same time get your edit-count up to well over a 1000 (like TB). Then apply during Christmas vacation. I think you have what it takes to become an admin, but then you'd have to wait till the end of January and that may be a step too fast after just 3 months (just meeting the requirement). So my advice is first apply for moderatorship in a week or so (you'd get rollback, chat and patrol rights if you pass). That way, people will get to know you better and you have more time to show people you're made of the good stuff. Then, at the beginning of March, if everything goes well, apply for admin. And another thing, get active in news blogs, forums and the chatroom if you haven't already. A lot of users aren't going to vote for you merely because you have good edits, you need to prove that you're a community-minded user and someone that people will recognise. Spelling

Hey there, just wanted to say you've been doing a great job! One thing however, people come from a lot of different cultures on this site, and it isn't necessary to change the spelling from anglican to american or vice versa. Ok I see your point about that, and it is the preferred spelling, it's good that you've looked into that, (as I probably should as I don't think of it too much). And I don't mind that you do that at all, but if you make a single edit specifically for that on a page too much, some other users may take it as eccessive, but by all means if you cleaning up an article and you want to change that with other things then go ahead!

Why should I stop? I'm just trying to make an honest addition to the wiki. How can I say - once I changed karma from Very good to Very Good and Jspoelstra changed it to Very good, as some administrators have. And I did it on all (or most) Fallout 3 and New Vegas characters. Console command page

If someone clears a page and saves it, it automatically leaves that comment. It's not added by the vandal in the comment summary box. Helps to detect vandals. Now we talk about that, when you revert a vandal edit, can you add 'vandal' in the summary box? It helps me a bit with blocking. Tri Beam Laser Rifle

After searching through the GECK again, I found the left over effect on the TBLR. It does indeed add 40 damage, but the reason it wasn't there the first time I tested it was because the TBLR did not have the effect linked to it. In short, while it was there, it wasn't referenced. Editing it and making the TBLR use the effect, it did cause a huge amount of damage this time. I would recommend testing this yourself to verify it. --71.229.74.0 02:30, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

However, I will say that Ive seen 'strategy' such as that on almost every other topic Ive read so far. After all, informing players about holdout weapons, ways to go across the blocking cliffs, etc would also be considered 'strategy' by your definition. The line between simple information and supplying players with knowlege on how to achieve certain tasks/results has been crossed hundreds of times already. I figured having ED-E along would save some hassle of fighting armed guards with fists/knives. Sneaking weapons in doesnt always work, even with a maxed stealth attribute. Taking ED-E along is a sure fire way to have some firepower backing you up. :P

I figure informing players that ED-E does NOT get his weapon removed was all a part of what this site was all about. After all, thats no different than telling someone they can pickpocket X NPC for a key instead of killing them. If you classify my addition as 'strategy', then half of this wiki is strategy and should therefore be removed by definition.

Patrol

With patrol right you can mark a revision as being checked. When you are given them, in recent changes you will see a red exclamation mark to the left of your screen, like here: (Rollback is at the end). When you click on diff you get a screen similar screen to . Then you can check the edit and if it's good, click on Mark as patrolled. NCR vs. NCR Army, Re: 10 of Spades

Since NCR Army is a division of NCR, and each has it's own distinct article, don't you think we should be affiliating NCR Army members with the NCR Army article, and NCR civilians with the NCR page? If we have them with the NCR Army affiliation, it's assumed that they're part of the NCR as a whole, since it's a division of that group.

Fallout 3 ending slide category

I know. They are a new category of images, so you were right to make a Fallout 3 ending slides category. You probably saw how I did it with the FNV ending slides category. I added the FO3 slides to be a subcat to the Category:Fallout 3 images as you may have noticed. Take a look at it so you will know what to do when something like this comes up again. It's funny, for more than a year I did the everyday categorizing, and it's strange to see someone else do it now. But you're welcome to it. Then we'd have no admin (someone with blocking power) who's just about checking every edit not made by a trusted user. I think we've made a wrong decision in the beginning to let everyone vote. Just now, with the closing of the new name's poll in sight, I fully realize that was a mistake. At least, that's how I see it. This should not have been a whole community vote. I probably can blame myself too for not asking for that when this whole thing was set up. Now I think too it would have been better if Wikia had given us 2 of 3 names we could choose from. The traffic and exposure needs to be optimal as it can be, people will not search for Nuka way beyond Fallout, so this could be heading in the wrong direction. I have to think some more about this and how it will affect me and my work here. Hope things turn out for the best. But thank you anyway for your support, it's appreciated.
