Energy cell (Fallout 3)
|For an overview of small energy cells throughout the Fallout series, see Small energy cell.|
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Produced by Wattz Electronics with a low shelf life, energy cells were used for many things such as energy weapons and regular household appliances. It is a small, self-contained energy storage unit often associated with one-handed energy weapons; a single cell contains three batteries, each with a capacity of 1040.8 volts of direct current.
Gameplay attributes[edit | edit source]
Energy cells in Fallout 3 bear a striking resemblance to 3 regular AA batteries attached to each other.
Energy cells are most commonly found on robots, but merchants also sell them in large amounts. Unfortunately, they sell them for at least 2 caps each, making them quite pricey. If you have a lot of these, you can sell them for large amounts of caps.

Notes[edit | edit source]
- Unusually large Energy Cells can be found beside Jennings' corpse outside of the GNR building plaza just after you meet with the Lyons' Pride.
- The Courier: "Energy Cells have a high expenditure rate. Some extra reserve cells could offset that."
Klein: "[SUCCEEDED] HMMM. YES, I BELIEVE WATTZ ELECTRONICS TENDED TO MAKE THE BATTERY SHELF LIFE ON THE LOW END."
Dala: "They certainly did. Batteries for my vib... vivisectors... would always come up short right before climax."
0: "*I think Wattz manufactured holodisks. Or was it holotapes? Never can keep those two straight. Anyway, we're out of small energy cells. Dala.*"
8: "@@[*.......]@@... @@[$((*&^#%]@@."
0: "*You have some? Why do... actually, never mind, I don't even want to know.* *And no, I don't want to handle your batteries. Just... pass them on to the Lobotomite yourself.*"
