European Civil War
European Civil War
The European Civil War refers to the series of wars that engulfed the European Commonwealth in the wake of the Middle East's oil fields drying up.
In April 2052, the Commonwealth declared war and invaded the Middle East. The Euro-Middle Eastern War would force the prices of oil even higher, leading to a string of bankruptcies among smaller countries and starting the Resource Wars. Limited nuclear exchanges in the Middle East rise global panic levels.
The war lasted eight long years. In 2060, the oil fields the Commonwealth and the Middle East fought over dried up. The conflict abruptly ended. However, the war reduced both sides almost to ruin, and severe consequences followed.
The once prosperous union fell apart almost overnight as the resource-starved European states jumped to each other's throats over the few remaining resources. The European Civil War begins. By 2077, the Great War extinguished any hostilities on the continent.
