For each crippled limb you have, you do an additional 10% damage.— In-game description

Eye for Eye is a perk in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts.

Effects[]

Taking this perk grants a temporary 10% bonus to damage dealt by all sources when a limb becomes crippled, increased with each limb crippled up to a maximum of 60%.

Notes[]

  • The perk pairs well with the Small Frame trait as it confers a "penalty" of +25% limb damage, increasing the chances of crippling.
  • The Old World Blues perks Brainless, Big Brained and Spineless reduce this perk's effectiveness due to rendering two of the six limbs immune/more resistant to crippling, lessening the full potential of the perk.
  • Taking Steady can entirely offset the increased sway and reduced accuracy from having crippled arms.
  • Travel Light and Atomic! can compensate for the movement speed penalties of having crippled legs while walking. When sneaking, the perks Tunnel Runner (wearing light armor or none only) and Implant M-5, as well as the Stealth suit Mk II (medium armor) can speed up movement as well.

Behind the scenes[]

  • The perk name is a reference to the Bible verse Exodus 21:24, which reads, "Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot."
  • Similarly, the phrase was the defining premise for Hammurabi's Code, one of the first recorded sets of laws in history.
