General information[edit | edit source]

Diseases are temporary status effects that can be contracted by the player. Unlike mutations, they provide no positive effects and only negative ones. Diseases can be either cured by using a Disease Cure or waiting until they expire.

Diseases are contracted by:

  • Sleeping on the ground in bedrolls or on mattresses.
  • Coming into contact with diseased critters.
  • Swimming in contaminated, irradiated waters.
  • Being exposed to toxic air (e.g. in The Mire) without a gas mask on.

Flap Limb 30 minutes -2 strength
Glowing Pustules Bleed radiation from wounds
Heat Flashes -2 endurance
Jelly Fingers +50% AP Cost in VATS

Parasites Periodic food loss
Rad Worms 45 minutes Increases radiation damage taken by 50%
Rattle Hands -25% damage with ranged weapons

Swamp Gas -2 charisma
Swamp Itch 15 minutes -2 Agility
