Fallout News[]
Just a recap on this weeks leaks from Kotaku. This is allegedly the “War never changes” intro given to potential voice actors called upon to audition for the next Fallout game.
“War. War never changes
In the year 1945 my great great-grandfather, serving in the Army, wondered when he'd get to go to his wife and the son he'd never seen. He got his wish when the U.S. ended World War II by dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The World awaited Armageddon. Instead, something miraculous happened: we began to use atomic energy not as a weapon, but as a nearly limitless source of power. People enjoyed luxuries once thought the realm of science fiction. But them in the 21st Century, people awoke from the American Dream. Years of consumption lead to shortages of every major resource. The entire world unraveled. We now stand on the brink of total war- and I am afraid. For myself, for my wife, for my infant son. Because if my time in the Army taught me one thing - It's that war _ war never changes.”— "Player"The Author of the article (Jason Schreier) went on to say “The casting documents describe some of the other characters in the next Fallout's wasteland, like a radio DJ named Travis Miles and an engineer named Sturges who is described as "a cross between Buddy Holly and Vin Diesel." Casting calls for both the male and female versions of the player character note that the player begins the game in a cryogenic sleep chamber.
Again, it's worth noting that these details may have been invented for the casting call, and they may change during development. We also don't know whether the game will be called Fallout 4, or whether Boston will be the sole setting or just one of many.”— Jason Schreier, http://kotaku.com/leaked-documents-reveal-that-fallout-4-is-real-set-in-1481322956
In the comments section, Jason confirmed he had received the documents from two different sources, and was able to verify the documents on an “off the record” basis, but Bethesda refused to comment. Poll:This_rumour_is |
Chris Avellone has been talking to the Guys at Extrasode, in a rather long podcast. Amongst other things he talks about how the “Mistakes” of Fallout 2 helped detail his design philosophy, his work on New Reno and Vault City, as well as the development of later games Fallout: New Vegas and Old World Blues.
“The biggest lesson [learned from Fallout 2] was if you give the player the ability to create a certain type of character, make sure that you honour the player's character build. What I mean by that is if you give a character to option to dump 500 points into speech. Make sure they have an experience thats very cool and is appropriate for a speech based character. The same thing is true if your a stupid combat monster, if you're a sneaky thief who noone ever sees... If you're allowing the players to build a character like that with the ruleset, then make sure you content supports that experience.”— Chris Avellone, Extrasode episode 61 |

Fanzone[]
The Survivor site is cranking up again. Apparently the faker will reveal the fake trailer he had planned on the 27th. I’m undecided if we’ll feature it here. Let me know what you think in the comments. |
This is a pilot for a new feature. Like it or hate it, tell us in the comments. In any case, this fun comes from Peace’n Hugs
