Eschscholzia californica or California poppy is a species of flowering plant in the family Papaveraceae, native to the United States and Mexico, and the official state flower of California. The poppy can be seen on pre-War road signs,[1] and the flower is worn by Ambassador Dennis Crocker in the NCR Embassy on his lapel.[2]
Opium poppies[]
Papaver somniferum, commonly called the opium poppy, is an integral crop for the production of drugs such as barbiturates. It is used for manufacturing opium, the base of many narcotics including morphine, heroin, thebaine, codeine, and others. Decades after the Great War, the Mordinos of New Reno attempted to restart cultivation of opium poppies under Myron's direction. They were unsuccessful, with Myron blaming quote "the new climate."[3]
