Fallout, Fallout 2 and Lionheart[edit | edit source]
Increases the amount of money found in random encounters. Useless.
Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas[edit | edit source]
When this perk is taken, it activates a single variable, FortuneFinderOdds, and proceeds to delete the vast majority of still-unloaded cap leveled items, and in turn, replaces them with new ones. Therefore, quantities of bottle caps are frequently doubled, quadrupled and even octupled.
Gore bags are a notable exception; they will contain the original cap leveled list and any caps that would have been gained from them, as well as the Fortune Finder caps. This perk does not modify specific pre-placed amounts of caps, such as Herbert Dashwood's safe, or Bloodborne cave's loot trunk.
Fallout 4[edit | edit source]
With the Fortune Finder perk, you'll find more and more caps in containers.
