The Golden Gloves are a unique weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics[]

Like the standard boxing gloves, the Golden Gloves trade having the lowest damage per strike of all unarmed weapons for the ability to inflict fatigue damage. Of the three fatigue-inflicting weapons, the Golden Gloves inflict the most at 50 points per strike, versus the boxing gloves' 35, and the boxing tape's 20. Like the standard variant, they require no Melee Weapons skill level and just 1 Strength to use effectively.

Visually, the weapon is in pristine condition with a golden-yellow and stark white color scheme.

Location[]

Notes[]

  • Festus and Muggy Old World Blues (add-on) can be disabled with the Golden Gloves, although most other robots cannot.
  • With this weapon, it is possible to destroy a turret without it exploding, which results in the turret remaining lootable.

Behind the scenes[]

  • The weapon's name is a reference to the National Golden Gloves competition in the United States, exclusively open to amateur boxers who can win a belt and the title of national champion, outside of professional boxing.
  • The weapon icon in the game files is stored in a folder which houses icons associated with perks.
