The Great Khan hideout is an unmarked location within Boulder City in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

On their way back towards New Vegas, after being forced to take the long route from Goodsprings through Primm, Nipton, and Novac, a group of Great Khans led by Jessup and including McMurphy were following Benny who carried the platinum chip he had taken from a courier.

As they got near Boulder City, the group came into conflict with an NCR patrol led by Lt. Monroe that eventually moved into Boulder City and the ruins left over from the First Battle of Hoover Dam. During the firefight, the Great Khans took a pair of troopers, Private Ackerman and Private Gilbert as hostages. McMurphy however died from sustained wounds while Benny managed to escape with the chip back to the Strip, leaving Jessup and the remaining Great Khans trapped.

Layout[]

Situated towards the east side of the ruins, the building appears to be a pre-War store that remained mostly intact both then and after the First Battle of Hoover Dam that destroyed much of Boulder City. A service counter with a cash register is at the forefront of the store with a broken display case containing minor items. In the back room, a few makeshift beds, ammunition boxes and broken shelving units can be found. The corpse of McMurphy is lying on one bed.

Notes[]

  • The Great Khans both inside and outside of the hideout will not immediately attack if one chooses the negotiation route during Boulder City Showdown, even if the player character has a Vilified reputation with the Great Khans.
  • Due to a scripting mistake that makes it so ownership is never removed, taking the supplies in the hideout will still count as stealing even after the Great Khans either leave or are killed.

Appearances[]

The Great Khan hideout appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.
