Greetings fellow Nukapedians, I, MountHail come before you to request the position of being a chat moderator.

Introduction

For those that do not know, my first name is Nathan. I’m a 17 year old high school student living with my father and younger sister. I was an aspiring meteorologist, but have lost interest in that field over the years. As of now, I’m largely still trying to figure out what I plan to do in the future. I've recently been captivated by animation and still have a strong interest in scientific pursuits.

Why me?

I joined Nukapedia back in May of last year after using the site as a guide for finding various items throughout my playthroughs. I quickly became involved with the community here and took an interest in participating in the different community features. The main draw of Nukapedia, for me, was being able to partake in discussion and spur the occasional debate over one of my favorite video game series.

During my time on Nukapedia, I've grown to become more active in our community. Even to the point where I currently host one of our weekly community features, Hide and Seek with Helena. As I became more active here, I realized that many of the special rights holders, including the ones that regular our chatroom, focus on the encyclopedia side of this site. Rightfully so to, as the main reason behind Nukapedia’s existence is to provide users with a source of knowledge for all things Fallout. However, we have a sizable amount of users that only contribute to the social aspects of Nukapedia which includes our popular chatroom that deserve to have active members that can moderate chat.

Which brings me to the main reason for this application, as some of you have probably noticed, our users that solely have chat moderator rights have been largely inactive since the start of this year. I believe that I am able to actively monitor chat and pride myself in taking wiki matters in a serious and thoughtful manner. With chat moderator rights, I will ensure that the chatroom remains a place for our users to discuss and debate topics in a positive manner while also defusing any potential issues such as chat raids.

I will also address my number of article edits, as for that aspect, I have only reached the minimum requirement for applying to obtain chat moderator rights. Our chat moderators are much more of a community figure that should focus on monitoring chat and I believe that the requirement for article edits is more for a show of commitment. In that respect, I feel that my blog edits and actually hosting a weekly feature show my commitment to Nukapedia.
