|For the character from The Pitt, see Harris.|
No! Well... yes. But it's all a trick. Don't you know anything? Does that number on your back mean that you just crawled out of a vault or something?”— The Lone Wanderer learns about Andale while wearing his Vault 101 jumpsuit.
Harris Smith (colloquially Old Man Harris) is a resident of Andale in Fallout 3.
Harris was once a cannibal capturing unsuspecting wastelanders that had ventured into Andale. Once captured, Harris would kill, butcher, and eat the people he had caught. However, after his wife had died and his children had grown up (who subsequently had inbred children of their own), he renounced cannibalism and stuck to holding up in his house trying to warn any new visitors to Andale to turn away.
Interactions with the player character
|This character starts quests.|
Our Little Secret: He asks the Lone Wanderer to leave and save themselves, stating things in Andale are not what they seem to be.
Effects of player's actions
If the Lone Wanderer discovers the secret of the town, by going into either the Wilsons' shed or the Smiths' basement and subsequently kills the residents, Old Man Harris will become the guardian of the children and speak more openly of his history. He is the one who tells you about the cannibalism, but the others tell you he went mad ever since his wife died.

Drops on death
- He is the father of both Linda Smith and Martha Wilson; you can learn this by passing some speech checks.
- Killing Old Man Harris will not incur a penalty to Karma, as a result of him being flagged as an 'evil' character. However, he does not drop a finger.
- Even after you kill Junior and Jenny's parents, Old Man Harris will continue to say things like "Don't be fooled by them!" out of dialogue.
Harris Smith appears only in Fallout 3.
- Fallout 3 Official Game Guide Game of the Year Edition p.89: "Old Man Harris
The Smiths and Wilsons would prefer you took no notice of this elderly kook, who lives in his rundown shack. He's obviously a lunatic, and reeks of cheap alcohol."
