Healing archways are found all throughout Mothership Zeta, and act as a part of the ship's internal architecture.
These archways heal those that utilize them, up to around 75% of their maximum health, and will remove all radiation and addictions, whereupon a message saying "The archway has restored some of your health" appears on screen.
After passing through any given archway, it will need to recharge for 15 seconds. If an attempt is made to use the archway before this time has elapsed, the following message will appear: "The archway is recharging and not ready for use".
Those with a Science skill of 75 or above can modify any archway so that they will fully heals those that utilize them. However, after doing so, the modified archway(s) will burn out after a total of three uses, rendering them useless, whereupon the following message will be shown: "The archway has burned out and is no longer useful". After modification, one can check how many uses are left by activating the modified archway.
- Although the archways have no effect if their users are between 75% and 100% of their maximum health (unless they are modified), the message still appears on screen, possibly leading to some confusion. This can be especially annoying since the modified archways will still burn out after three passes, even if already at full health.
- Although Sally says that the aliens use the archway to heal themselves, the aliens do not actually appear to gain any benefit when they run through them.
Some users experienced a bug of unknown origin that caused the healing archway to not work. Activating them seems to do nothing. Restarting the console seems to fix this in some cases. This can also apply to individual arches, meaning that some arches will work, while others won't do anything at all. Modifying the device will usually fix this.
