Each level of the Heave Ho! Perk will give your thrown weapons an additional +2 Strength for purposes of determining range only.

Each level of the Heave Ho! Perk gives you an additional +2 to Strength (up to 10,) for purposes of determining range with thrown weapons only. This Perk will not exceed a weapon's maximum range.

Fallout and Fallout 2 description

Heave Ho! is a perk in Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout: New Vegas and J.E. Sawyer's Fallout Role-Playing Game.

Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics[edit | edit source]

+2 Strength (up to 10) for purposes of determining range with Throwing weapons only. The range cannot exceed a weapon's maximum range.

The perk is functionally useless, as range is calculated as 3*Strength. With a maximum range of 15 for thrown weapons, the perk is utterly useless for any build that has 4 or more Strength.

Fallout: New Vegas[edit | edit source]

Throwing velocity and range increase by 50% with all thrown weapons (melee or explosive) and Explosives weapons that fire in an arc, such as the grenade launcher or Fat Man. This perk benefits certain non-explosive weapons as well, such as throwing spears.

The perk doesn't affect V.A.T.S.
