While primarily a publishing house, Hubris Comics had begun to expand into radio, television and toys. The Silver Shroud and Grognak the Barbarian were two of its most popular properties.Fallout 4 loading screens

Hubris Comics is a location in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston in the Commonwealth in Fallout 4.

Background[]

A local store and office of Hubris Comics, publishers of classic graphic novels before the Great War. The location also served as office space for production staff and as a television studio.[Non-game 1] A short time before the Great War, the studio was in the process of bringing the popular Silver Shroud franchise, previously finding success as a radio broadcast, to television.

Layout[]

Situated just west of Swan's Pond and the Boston Common, the building is small, with only four floors. The first floor features the shop, progressing to offices on the second and third floors and a television studio on the fourth floor. The entire building is infested by feral ghouls, with a glowing one on the top floor. A terminal is available on the top floor that allows the player character to control stage lights for the Silver Shroud set and also play the Silver Shroud theme over the system speakers.

Notable loot[]

First floor[]

  • Scavenger's lead - Just outside the front door, on the corpse of a scavenger.
  • Grognak's axe - In an Advanced-locked display case, behind the shop counter. The case can also be opened by hacking the nearby Advanced-locked terminal.
  • Unstoppables issue #5 - On the shop counter next to the cash register on the right, opposite Grognak's axe.
  • Hubris Comics storeroom key - On the shop counter inside the cash register on the right. It opens the storeroom behind the counter and the Expert-locked wall safe in the storeroom.
  • Scavenger's note (non-quest version) - On a dead scavenger inside the restroom.
  • Creation Club Manager's note - In a wooden crate behind a Novice-locked door.
  • Creation Club Several Graphic T-shirts - In the wooden crate mentioned before.

Second floor[]

  • Scavenger's list - On a corpse through the nearby doorway and a hole in the wall to the right of the top of the stairs from the first floor. It is under one of the two sets of stairs which lead to the third floor.
  • Silver Shroud photo - Inside an office to the right of the top of the stairs from the first floor. Located in a broken display case, next to a bat and baseball.
  • Hubris Comics office key - In a room to the south, in the desk with the manager's terminal. Another copy can be found underneath a desk just outside the manager's door.
  • Nuka-Cola Quantum - In the break room to the southeast, in a Nuka-Cola machine.

Appearances[]

This Hubris Comics appears only in Fallout 4.

Behind the scenes[]

Hubris Comics is in the same location in Boston as the famous Newbury Comics original flagship location, at 332 Newbury St. This can be confirmed, as an intact street sign for Newbury Street can be seen very close to the entrance. Also, the store entrance is below street level, just as the entrance to Newbury Comics is.
