Your cerebral cortex has been enhanced with the Logic Co-Processor, increasing your Intelligence by 1.— In-game description

The Logic Co-Processor Intelligence Implant is an implant perk in Fallout: New Vegas.

Requirements[]

The implant must be bought from Doctor Usanagi at the New Vegas medical clinic for 4,000 caps, or for 1,000 if one's Intelligence is below 4.

Effects[]

Gaining this perk grants a permanent +1 to Intelligence.

Notes[]

  • As with all of Usanagi's implants, if one has already purchased a number of other implants equivalent to the player character's Endurance attribute level, this implant cannot be purchased unless Endurance is raised one additional level, e.g. by taking one rank of Intense Training or gaining one of the four ending perks in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Lonesome Road.
  • Unlike other attribute-enhancing implants, if one's Intelligence is less than 4, Usanagi will take pity and offer a discount of 1000 caps for this implant. This is similar to an interaction with Dr. Lorri in Fallout who offered implants and would offer the intelligence implant at a significant discount if one's Intelligence was very low.

Bugs[]

  • PCPC Playstation 3Playstation 3Playstation 3 Xbox 360Xbox 360 If you are offered the low-Intelligence discount but do not purchase the implant and then leave the hospital, when you return and speak to Usanagi next time she will no longer offer this implant - discounted or otherwise.[verified]
  • PCPC Playstation 3Playstation 3Playstation 3 The option "to be smarter" will also be missing from the dialog if you use alcohol, chems or the player.modav console command to temporarily drop your INT below 4. Once the effects wears off, the intelligence implant will be for sale again. player.setav intelligence 3 corrects this. [verified]
