Point Lookout remained very rural and isolated until the Isla Negra real estate company purchased land and began developing new homes and attractions.Fallout 3 loading screen, Point Lookout

Isla Negra Holdings was a pre-War holding company present in Point Lookout. Known subsidiaries include Isla Negra Real Estate[1] and the People's Bank of Point Lookout.[2]

Background[]

Isla Negra Realty Company had made a deal with Constance Blackhall when she became a widow in 2058, acquiring the Blackhall family real estate in Point Lookout. Despite overwhelming local cultural resistance, Isla Negra persistently attempted to bring tourism and modernization to Point Lookout and St. Mary's County.[3]

Subsidiaries[]

Isla Negra Real Estate[]

Isla Negra Real Estate was a real estate company with representatives in Point Lookout. It granted local authorization to the Bysshe Company for its Natural Gas Survey Project MD-16-001.[1]

People's Bank of Point Lookout[]

The People's Bank of Point Lookout was owned directly by Isla Negra Holdings.[2] It provided the usual banking services to the area's inhabitants.

Appearances[]

Isla Negra Holdings and its subsidiaries are mentioned in terminal entries at the People's Bank of Point Lookout and the wreck of the USS Ozymandias in the Fallout 3 add-on Point Lookout.

Behind the scenes[]

The company name is a reference to Black Isle Studios, creators of Fallout and Fallout 2, as "isla negra" is Spanish for "black isle."

"The last descendant of the Blackhalls, a famous (some say infamous) family of wealth in the history of Point Lookout, Obadiah is stubborn and is still entranced by an old book his family once lost. The Blackhall family was deeply involved in the commercialization of Point Lookout in the early 21st century. Constance Blackhall, head of the estate after the New Plague made her an unexpected widow in 2058, cooperated with entrepreneurs from the Isla Negra Realty Company, who had been trying to acquire family real estate unsuccessfully for years. Despite overwhelming local cultural resistance, Isla Negra persistently attempted to bring tourism and modernization to Point Lookout and St. Mary's County."
