Jack Rockford was an intern in the Product Engineering department prior to the Great War of October 23rd, 2077.

Background

Jack Rockford, Alyssa Torres, and Daniel Montgomery were hired as interns as a part of Mass Fusion's Education at Work program. This six month program welcomed them in on September 1st.[1] However the program's true intentions were to hire office lackeys and they were specifically ordered not to use company property or time for their own personal projects.[2] Despite this, the three interns all conducted their research after hours.[3] Jack's was particularly notable for he successfully developed "Freefall" armor legs. A proof of concept for a kinetic repulsion system,[4] he planned to show them off at the company holiday party which would have taken place on the building's roof.[5] However on October 23rd, he forgot to bring the key to his safe where he kept them with him to work.[6] The building itself buckled and warped under the extreme shock, and he couldn't open the broken door.[7] Not that it would have helped, as there was no stairway on the floor. In the following three days he drank all the Nuka-Cola he had in his office[8] and succumbed to dehydration.

Appearances

Jack Rockford is mentioned only in Fallout 4.
