Jacob Hargraves was a steward with the Associated Miner's Union supervising the protest at Poseidon Energy Plant WV-06.
Background[]
While protesting along with strikers Cindy and Foster, the plant's director of security Brent Olson called a state of emergency and brought in the National Guard.[1] This was against the wishes of plant manager Renee Hargraves, who Brent had locked in her office while the protestors were dealt with.[2]
In an attempt to clear the area, HalluciGen gas was deployed.[3] Renee could only watch as the protest outside turned violent.[3] Jacob wrote a message to her from the protest camp outside, explaining the effects of the gas, the violence he was witnessing, and that he hoped she was safe inside the plant.[1] Renee also wrote a note, apologizing to Jacob for her inability to stop the events from occurring.[3]
