While scouting out new trade routes in the Divide for the Hub, Rubinek broke one of his legs and was cornered in a cave by marked men and tunnelers. A trail of shell casings and spent magazines lead to his skeleton where a marksman carbine is resting beside him, along with his final note and a pencil.
