Kidd is a ghoul encountered in the Old Olney underground in Fallout 3.

Background[]

One of Sanders' ghouls who tried to establish a new Underworld, literally beneath Old Olney, Kidd and his partner, Wint, are the only survivors after a knocked-down wall unleashed a nest of deathclaws on the nascent community.[1] They managed to survive by running faster than anyone else,[2] and their primary concern is getting out of Old Olney as fast as possible.[Non-game 1] Kidd is shaken by the experience and focused on survival, and lets Wint deal with anyone wanting to talk to them while they're trying to get away.[3][4][5]

  • Shock Value: Kidd and Wint are encountered upon entering the underground to find the Tesla coil. The two ghouls are fleeing the deathclaws attack. Kidd will not talk to the player, telling them to speak to Wint instead.

Kidd appears only in the Fallout 3 add-on Broken Steel.

Behind the scenes[]

Wint and Kidd are named after the eponymous assassin pair from Ian Fleming's "Diamonds Are Forever" novel and its film adaptation. The latter is known for its portrayal of the assassins as a gay couple.[Meta 1]

It wasn't my idea to tunnel down here, I just went along with it. But whatever. What's done is done. Me and Kidd, we're getting out of here. You came in that way, that means we can get back out. See ya later, kid."
