Laser Tripwire emitters are traps found in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.

  • Laser trip wires follow the same general principle for triggering and avoidance. They can be found on walls or on the sides of desks. They will emit a narrow beam of light that will either be horizontal or diagonal from wherever it is positioned.
  • The emitter, attached to an object, is also the point where it can be disarmed or hacked.
  • When they are "armed" they will emit a RED beam.

  • When an emitter is not on, i.e. not emitting any beam, the Courier can hack the emitters' IFF circuit, allowing safe passage through the now BLUE beam.
    • This can also be done when they are armed.
  • They can also be disarmed completely but only when they are armed.
  • In order to hack or disarm a laser tripwire, the Courier needs at least a Repair skill of 50 or a Science skill of 50.
