Simply put, we send a small two-man team to scout a location and evaluate its technical and historical relevance. Saves us from sending an entire retrieval team to a worthless location”— Proctor Quinlan, Fallout 4
Research patrols are an integral part of the Brotherhood's operations in the wasteland. As such, the Sole Survivor as a Knight will escort a single Scribe to a location that might otherwise be a waste of time for an entire retrieval team.
- Talk to Proctor Quinlan and accept an assignment.
- Talk to the Scribe down in the airport and travel to the assigned area.
- Locate the target and wait for the Scribe to extract the data.
- Return to Quinlan for the reward.
|Speak to the Brotherhood Scribe||I spoke to Proctor Quinlan and agreed to escort a Brotherhood Scribe on a research patrol. I was told to meet the Scribe at the airport where h'll give me further details on the mission location.|
|Escort the Scribe to the data at <location>||The Brotherhood Scribe has given me the mission location. I need to keep him alive, and find the terminal that contains the data he needs.|
|Protect the Brotherhood Scribe||I was able to locate the data, so the Scribe has begun his extraction. I need to keep him alive while he works.|
|Return to Proctor Quinlan||The Scribe has finished collecting the data. I still need to look out for him as we return to Proctor Quinlan on the Prydwen. If he dies, the data will be lost, and the mission would be a failure.|
