You are really starting to piss me off. Lucky for you, I don't have time to give you an attitude adjustment.

— Leroy Walker, Fallout 3.

Leroy Walker is a slaver from Paradise Falls in Fallout 3.

Background[edit | edit source]

Leroy is a strident believer that “might makes right.” Weaklings deserve what they get in life and should serve at the whim of the more powerful. He is a rarity among Slavers. He’s not in it for the money; he genuinely believes that this is the natural law of the universe. Leroy is the Slaver in charge of handling runaways.[1] Currently there is no bigger issue for him than the Temple of the Union. In his eyes, if they succeed in making the Lincoln Memorial into a shrine for Abolitionists and runaway slaves,[2] Paradise Falls and the Slavers will be severely hurt.[3]

As such, Leroy Walker is the leader of a 6-man squad of Slavers who have occupied the Lincoln Memorial while hunting for the runaway slave group in the Temple of the Union.

Daily schedule[edit | edit source]

He can usually be found in the Operations Office on the ground floor; go left while facing the steps into the Memorial itself.

Quests[edit | edit source]

  • Head of State: Leroy and the slavers have laid claim to the Memorial and show no signs of leaving. If notified of the slaver threat, Hannibal will ask the player to deal with them however they see fit. Alternately, you can side with Leroy against the slaves.
  • Lincoln's Profit Margins: Leroy offers the player the opportunity to locate various items related to Abraham Lincoln. His intent is to destroy them in order to rob any escaped slaves of a figurehead and thus break their spirits. He asks the player to go to a "nearby ruin" which turns out to be the Museum of American History, and will pay caps for any item returned to him.[4]

Notes[edit | edit source]

Supplying Walker with one artifact will allow the Lone Wanderer access to the memorial.[5][6]

Notable quotes[edit | edit source]

  • "We are just about to wipe out this Temple of the Union. You can join us or not. It makes no difference to me."
  • "Yeah, I killed them all after telling you not to. I just couldn't trust anyone else to do it. I needed to see them dead with my own eyes. Anyway, the problem has been taken care of. I can go back to Paradise Falls now. I'll make sure they know you're our kind of people. You'll be welcome there any time."
  • "[Why are you so interested in Lincoln artifacts?] Slaves all over the Wasteland have started talking about Lincoln and his great war to free the slaves. We can't have them thinking they deserve to be free. So I'm burning everything I can find related to this Abe Lincoln. Don't want slaves using them to start a revolt or anything. So we burn them."
  • "[Go get them yourself, then.] I'd love to. Can't spare the men. You, on the other hand, are expendable. Especially with an attitude like that. Let's just leave this as an open offer. If I never see you again, I haven't lost anything."
  • "If I had, I wouldn't tell you.] You are really starting to piss me off. Lucky for you I don't have time to give you an attitude adjustment. Just answer one question and you can go. What do you know about the Temple of the Union?"

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

  • LeRoy Pope Walker was the first Confederate States Secretary of War and issued the orders for the firing on Fort Sumter, which began the American Civil War.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

  • PCIcon pc.png Xbox 360Icon xbox360.png PlayStation 3Icon ps3.png Leroy Walker may appear past the steps in the memorial itself instead of in the maintenance room where Silas leads the player. This makes it difficult, if not impossible, to speak to Leroy, as the slavers on the steps to the memorial are hostile.
  • Xbox 360Icon xbox360.png He may become hostile for no reason though this appears to be very rare.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Leroy Walker appears only in Fallout 3.

  1. Leroy Walker: "I'm Leroy Walker, and you're probably wondering about what we're doing here."
The Lone Wanderer: "Looks to me like you're getting ready for war. What are you really doing here?"
Leroy Walker: "You're a sharp one. We're from Paradise Falls. We're hunting runaway slaves. Have you seen any?"
    (Leroy Walker's dialogue)
  2. The Lone Wanderer: "Not around here, but there is a group of them up north near Old Olney."
Leroy Walker: "They are? Now, that's just wrong, isn't it? We're from Paradise Falls, and we've been looking for those runaways. We'll have to go and take care of that little group of rebels. You can come watch if you want. Whether you do or don't, I'm looking to hire a wastelander for a small job. I need someone to bring me some items from a nearby ruin. Are you interested?"

  4. The Lone Wanderer: "Okay. Where is this ruin?"
Leroy Walker: "It's a museum, just past the Washington Monument. I'm only interested in stuff related to Abraham Lincoln. Bring me back whatever you find. Oh, and don't try and go into the Memorial. The guards have orders to shoot on sight."
    (Leroy Walker's dialogue)
  5. The Lone Wanderer: "I'd better get going."
Leroy Walker: "Good luck in the Museum. Bring me back something and I'll let you get a closer look at the Memorial."

  6. The Lone Wanderer: "So... Can I take a peek at the Memorial now?"
Leroy Walker: "Sure. Silas will tell them you're allowed up there."
