I have your kid. You wouldn't dare shoot me.

— The Lone Wanderer to Sandra Kundanika, taking Marie.

Marie is the daughter of Ishmael Ashur and Sandra Kundanika, and touted as the cure for Troglodyte Degeneration Contagion in 2277.

Background[edit | edit source]

Cute, innocent, and unusually quiet, Marie is less than a year old and in perfect health. The offspring of Ashur and Sandra, her conception occurred after Sandra set up her laboratory in a wing of Ashur’s palace. As two of the most educated people in The Pitt, they spent long hours together. Over time, they have come to honestly care for each other, and the safe birth of their child is considered nothing short of a miracle—one they intend to use for the benefit of their city.[1]

She was born with a natural resistance to radiation and Troglodyte Degeneration Contagion, and because of this unique gift she has been studied by her parents to find a cure to help with the constant radiation in The Pitt.

She weighs five pounds and teddy bears are her favorite toy.

This character is involved in quests.

Quests[edit | edit source]

  • Free Labor: Either kidnap Marie from her parents or leave the slave class of The Pitt to suffer more oppression.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Once the player picks her up, she becomes a quest item called "Baby" and therefore cannot be dropped.
  • The item 'baby' displays as a garden gnome when dropped/placed on the ground. This can be discovered using console commands, such as placeatme.
  • After acquiring Marie if you access the terminal in Sandra's lab and select baby monitor you will be told "Baby not found, insert baby and try again."
  • She is the only baby seen in Fallout 3, besides you as one in the past.
  • Taking her results in positive karma, while leaving her does nothing.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Marie appears only in the Fallout 3 add-on The Pitt.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Marie the cure, is a reference to the real life Marie Curie. Marie Curie was a pioneer in the field of radioactivity.
