Water chip... hmm. Oh, those old Vault purifying control chips. Well, I'm sure I speak for the entire town when I say you won't find one here.

Martha[1] Rastello is the second-in-command of the Water Merchants in 2161.[2]

Background[]

Master merchant Rastello is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the caravan outfit. As Daren Hightower has locked himself in his Heights mansion, she handles all of the problems as the highest ranked trader of the company, second only to the head of the caravan house. This includes dealing with angry clients within the Hub and managing all water shipments without.

Quests[]

    • For 2000 caps, she will commission a caravan of Water Merchants to deliver water to Vault 13, which will extend the time limit of the quest by another 100 days (with a sufficient Barter skill, she can be haggled down to 1000 caps, or even to 500).

Appearances[]

Martha Rastello appears only in Fallout.

Bugs[]

After handing in the water chip to the Vault 13 overseer, it is possible to commission a second round of water caravans. Doing so will award 1000 XP, unmark the Find the Water Chip quest and attach a "days remaining" note to the Vault Dweller's Pip-Boy 2000. This will effectively reset the results of the Find the Water Chip quest; the citizens of Vault 13 will act as if the water chip has not been delivered and, after the time limit expires, the quest will end in failure.[verified]
