Mercenaries are dead guns-for-hire found around various locales in the Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3.

Background

These soldiers of fortune were unaffiliated with the well known mercenary outfits of the Capital Wasteland, like Talon Company or Reilly's Rangers, and met their match in their adventures. They are always found dead in some of the more dangerous areas of the Capital Wasteland, like the Deathclaw Sanctuary, Old Olney, the yao guai tunnels, the National Archives, and the county sewer mainline.
